Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt To Reunite On Screen After 31 Years? Here's What We Know

Last Updated: Brad Pitt said he is open to working with Tom Cruise again, but has one condition. Brad Pitt is open to working with Tom Cruise again, as long as he doesn't have to do any big stunts. The 61-year-old actor hasn't appeared on-screen with the Mission: Impossible star, 62, since 1994's Interview with the Vampire, and Pitt has now revealed he would collaborate with Cruise again, on the condition that his feet stay firmly on the ground. Speaking with E! News, Pitt said: 'Well, I'm not gonna hang my a** off airplanes and s*** like that. So when he does something again that's on the ground [then yes]." Pitt will next be seen in F1 – the high-octane racing movie from Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski. In F1, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a retired racer who returns to the track with new blood Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris) in a bid to become the best Formula One driver in the world. While Pitt wants to avoid doing any major stunts in a Tom Cruise movie, the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor had driven at 180-miles-per-hour in real Formula One cars for F1. Speaking at a Q+A event in March, Kosinski said: '[Pitt] just had that natural feel for grip in the car, and what we're doing on this film is dangerous. So yeah, you have to be fearless, and when you see Brad driving, that's not acting." He added: 'He's really concentrating on keeping that car on the track and out of the wall during all those scenes. So that's something that you just can't fake, I think. I hope the audience feels that when they watch the movie." The filmmaker added that Pitt had undergone 'months of training" to prepare for the racing scenes, which also involved learning the art of the sport under the tutelage of seven-time Formula One world champion Sir Lewis Hamilton. Kosinski explained: 'Brad and Damson are both driving in this film and in order to get them into these race cars, it required months, literally months of training. But the first day was really fun. It was me, Brad and Lewis Hamilton at the track together, all of us jumping in cars and driving each other around in sports cars, which was one of those things, I'll never forget having Lewis Hamilton as your driving instructor. But what we learned and what Lewis was really interested was seeing did Brad knew how to drive right? Because if Brad can't drive, this whole film wasn't going to work." The director said Hamilton found Pitt to be a 'very talented, naturally gifted driver" when they first sped around the track together. Kosinski said: 'And what Lewis was very happy to discover was that Brad had a lot of just natural ability right from the start. And I don't know where he got that or if he was born with it, and he rides motorcycles, which I think has something to do with it, but he's just a very talented, naturally gifted driver, which for Lewis after that first meeting gave him a lot of confidence that we might have a shot at pulling this off." Brad Pitt Is Open To Working With Tom Cruise, But There Is One Condition

Last Updated: Brad Pitt made it clear that he would not be taking on roles that require him to pull off sky-high stunts. Brad Pitt, who is eyeing the release of his sports-drama F1: The Movie, has opened up on the possibility of sharing the screen space again with Tom Cruise. They were seen together in the 1994 film Interview with the Vampire. In an interview, Pitt said he would love to work with Tom Cruise, but on one condition. Any guesses? No sky-high stunts, please. We get it, Brad Pitt, we get it. In a chat with E! News, Brad Pitt shared, 'I'm not gonna hang my a** off the airplane and s**t like that." Pitt, currently busy with the promotion F1 racing film, talked about his reunion with Cruise. The actor stated he will consider working with Mission: Impossible star 'when he does something again that's on the ground." In the same chat, Pitt went on to talk about some of the unusual habits he developed while working on F1. 'Before getting in the car, I always have to get in on the left side," he said. Pitt added, 'I have to put my left shoe on first, I'd have to put my left glove on first." Talking about Tom Cruise, the actor is well-known for pulling off heart-stopping stunts in his films. In the Mission: Impossible series, he was seen skydiving, flying helicopters, scaling skyscrapers and jumping off a cliff. Earlier, Pitt and Cruise collaborated for the 1994 film, titled Interview with the Vampire. The gothic cult classic saw a rivalry between the two, which even reached the tracks. 'We raced go-karts. He got me in the end. I gotta admit," Pitt recalled. Meanwhile, earlier this year at a Paramount event, Tom Cruise lauded Brad Pitt's driving skills, especially given his upcoming F1 film. F1: The Movie has been directed by Joseph Kosinski. Formula 1 champion and British driver Lewis Hamilton has backed the movie. It will release on June 27. Damson Idris, Javier Bardem and Kerry Condon are also part of the film. First Published:

Brad Pitt says yes to collaborating with Tom Cruise as long as his ‘ass' stays off airplanes; everything to know

What do you get when you put Hollywood's most ageless action star and its smoothest leading man in one movie? A fantasy many fans have been dreaming about since Interview with the Vampire (1994). And now, it just might happen if Tom Cruise can keep his feet on the ground. While promoting his upcoming Formula One movie F1 in Mexico, Brad Pitt was asked whether he'd consider reuniting with Cruise. His response? 'Well, I'm not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and shit like that,' he said with a laugh, referencing Cruise's now-iconic death-defying stunts. 'So when he does something again that's on the ground, [then yes],' he told E! News. Cruise has become known for raising the bar with each new Mission: Impossible movie, most recently The Final Reckoning, which has seen him skydiving, climbing cliffs, and hanging off airplanes. Meanwhile, Pitt's F1, directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, leans into high-octane thrills of its own. Kosinski once tried to bring Cruise and Pitt together for his version of Ford v Ferrari, but the studio reportedly didn't greenlight his budget. That project eventually went to James Mangold and starred Christian Bale and Matt Damon. In a recent interview, Kosinski didn't hold back when asked what it would've been like to direct Cruise in a film like F1: 'Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled,'** he said, before adding with a smile, 'But yeah... I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.'

Brad Pitt teases on-screen reunion with Tom Cruise, but on one condition: ‘I'm not gonna…'

Brad Pitt has made it clear, sky-high stunts are not his scene anymore. The Hollywood star, who has headlined some of the biggest action blockbusters, spoke about the possibility of sharing the screen again with Tom Cruise. And while fans might be hoping for another high-octane reunion, Pitt has one simple, very grounded condition. In a chat with E! News, Pitt offered a humorous yet pointed update on where things stand: 'I'm not gonna hang my a** off the airplane and s**t like that,' he said. Pitt, who is currently promoting his upcoming F1 racing film, added that he'd consider a reunion with Cruise 'when he does something again that's on the ground.' Cruise is well-known for his obsession with performing dangerous stunts-particularly in the Mission: Impossible series, where skydiving, flying helicopters and scaling skyscrapers are par for the course. For those who've forgotten, Pitt and Cruise shared the screen in 1994's Interview with the Vampire, a gothic cult classic. Their rivalry on set wasn't limited to bloodlust; it went straight to the tracks. 'We raced go-karts. He got me in the end. I gotta admit,' Pitt recalled. Despite the playful competition, there's clearly admiration between the two megastars. At a Paramount event earlier this year, Cruise praised Pitt's driving chops, especially with the upcoming F1 film creating buzz in racing circles. Pitt, now 61, also opened up about some of the oddly specific habits he developed while shooting F1, which is directed by Top Gun: Maverick's Joseph Kosinski and backed by Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton. 'Before getting in the car, I always have to get in on the left side,' he told E! 'I have to put my left shoe on first, I'd have to put my left glove on first," Pitt added. And the pit crew? They were well-trained in Pitt's peculiar pattern. F1 is set to release in theatres on June 27. The cast includes Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and more. ALSO READ: Brad Pitt credits girlfriend Ines de Ramon for getting him hooked to F1 racing: 'Well she's European!' Not yet, but Pitt says he might, if Cruise agrees to keep it grounded. Their last (and only) movie together was Interview with the Vampire (1994). He's gearing up for the release of F1, an upcoming racing film directed by Joseph Kosinski.

Brad Pitt Would Reunite with Tom Cruise for Another Movie If It's 'On the Ground': 'Not Gonna Hang My Ass Off Airplanes'

Brad Pitt would star in another movie with Tom Cruise under one condition, he revealed at the Mexico City F1 premiere Pitt also reacted to his Interview with the Vampire costar's praise for F1 at the premiere, calling Cruise "so sweet" The actors used to go-kart race on the set of Interview with the Vampire, Cruise revealed earlier this yearIt's a good day to be an Interview with the Vampire fan! At the Mexico City premiere of his latest movie F1 on June 9, Brad Pitt revealed whether he would ever share the screen again with Tom Cruise, his costar in the iconic Anne Rice adaptation. His answer? Yes — but a conditional yes. On potentially combining star power with Cruise, 62, onscreen in the future, Pitt, 61, told E! News, 'Well, I'm not gonna hang my ass off airplanes and s--- like that, so… when he does something again that's on the ground.' The glimmer of hope — particularly for fans of the actors' work as vampy duo Louis and Lestat — came just after the outlet revealed to Pitt that Cruise has been publicly supportive of the sports drama. The news sparked a wholesome response. 'It's so sweet,' the F1 star said of his former costar's praise. 'He's so sweet.' Cruise sang praises for the upcoming Joseph Kosinski-directed film — which stars Pitt as a former Formula 1 driver — earlier this year, on the same day he shared a fond memory the duo shared on the Interview with the Vampire set. While discussing his own film, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, at CinemaCon 2025 in April, Cruise made note of director Christopher McQuarrie's work on the script for a different Pitt film, 2013's World War Z, per CinemaBlend. He then shouted out Pitt and F1, as well as the film's producer-director duo. 'Brad's got a new movie with Jerry Bruckheimer, Joe Kosinski,' Cruise said at the time, adding that he 'can't wait to see that this summer. It'll be awesome.' 'It's great to see Brad driving,' the Mission: Impossible star added. 'He's very good. He's a very good driver. Believe me, I've raced against him. When we were doing Interview with the Vampire, we'd go and race go-karts. We'd literally finish and go drive go-karts all night.' Pitt also remembers the actors' racing days well, he revealed at the Mexico City F1 premiere. 'We did have our go-kart days back in the '90s, the early '90s,' he told E! News. Pitt also admitted to the outlet that where speed was concerned, Cruise took the cake. 'He got me in the end, I gotta tell you,' the F1 star said of their racing days. As for what Pitt's soon-to-be released racing film would look like if it was Cruise, not Pitt, was in the driver's seat? Kosinski, who also directed Top Gun: Maverick, recently pondered that very possibility while chatting with GQ magazine. 'Tom always pushes it to the limit, but at the same time is super capable and very skilled,' the director told the magazine. 'They both have the natural talent for driving.' "But yeah,' he added, seemingly referring to Cruise's affinity for intense stunts, 'I could see Tom maybe scaring us a little bit more.'
