Jimmy Fallon Remixes ‘Somebody That I Used to Know' in Honor of Trump-Musk ‘National Divorce'

Yahoo11-06-2025

Jimmy Fallon is happy to report that Donald Trump and Elon Musk are totally thriving as they move on from their feud. And he has a music video to prove it.
'Well, it seems like Trump and Elon's feud has calmed down a bit. The two still aren't speaking, but they did release this music video today,' Fallon said on Tuesday night.
The chords for Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used to Know' then started as 'The Tonight Show' stitched together audio clips of both Musk and Trump singing the lyrics to the breakup anthem. Musk started off the song with 'You didn't have to cut me off' before Trump took it away with 'Make it out like it never happened and that we were nothing.' Musk then chimed back in with 'Guess that I don't need that though' with Trump closing it out with the iconic line 'Now you're just somebody that I used to know.'
That isn't the only breakup song joke Fallon had. 'The fallout continues over Trump's national divorce from Elon Musk. And Trump said he's not even thinking about Elon,' Fallon said earlier in his monologue.
To prove his point, the comedian shared a sketch that featured 'The Tonight Show's' version of Trump asking if Musk had called, texted, emailed, faxed, poked, slacked or slid into his DMs. After a Secret Service member stoically responds 'no' to Trump's many questions, the sketch showed bright rave-like colors flashing from the windows of the White House as fake Trump sang Robyn's 'Dancing on My Own.' Trump-Linked Toymaker Goes Crypto--Turns $5M Into $127M Overnight

A forgotten toymaker just became one of the hottest crypto plays of the yearand it all happened in less than a month. SRM Entertainment (NASDAQ:SRM), best known for hawking koala backpacks and Smurf-branded tumblers, saw its stock spike over 500% this week after announcing it would pivot into crypto under a new name: Tron Inc. The move came with a surprise twistJustin Sun, the controversial crypto entrepreneur, joined as an adviser. Behind the scenes, a small investment bank called Dominari Holdingswhere Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump now serve as adviserswas orchestrating the deal. SRM shares jumped from under $2 to over $9 before settling above $7. The biggest winner? A fund tied to Dominari scooped up a stake for $5 million in May. By Tuesday, that bet was worth $127 million. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 6 Warning Signs with SRM. This windfall wasn't random. Dominari played both sides of the deal. It arranged the original SRM investment for American Ventures LLC Series III SRM, a fund run by Dominari executive Soo Yuwho also happens to be married to the firm's president. Dominari and Yu were paid in warrants as part of the May deal, which grew from $230,000 to $3.8 million. Then this week, Yu's fund received another 5.36 million warrants for stepping in as advisernow worth more than $38 million. SRM plans to keep making toys while quietly building a stash of digital tokens tied to Sun's crypto platform. Obviously he's quite an impact player in this space, SRM's CEO Richard Miller said. It's a bet on convergence: old-school toys + new-school tokens. Zoom out, and this fits a bigger pattern. Dominari pivoted into investment banking less than three years ago, abandoning its biotech roots. Since then, it's been laying crypto breadcrumbsbuilding ventures like World Liberty Financial and American Bitcoin, both with Trump-linked ownership. Justin Sun has been a recurring face in those plays, too, despite a paused SEC lawsuit hanging over him. There's no indication the Trump brothers were involved in the SRM trades. But when your firm's address is Trump Tower, your executive team includes family friends, and your fund's crypto play just minted $100M+ on paper investors tend to pay attention. Lizzo Reacts to Performance of ‘About Damn Time' at President Trump's Military Parade

When Lizzo sang, 'Turn up the music, let's celebrate,' Donald Trump's widely protested military birthday parade was not what she had in mind. After video of a performer singing Lizzo's Billboard Hot 100-topping hit 'About Damn Time' at the event in Washington, D.C., on Saturday (June 14) surfaced online, the hitmaker made her feelings quite clear in a TikTok posted over the weekend. Stitching the clip with a few seconds of footage of the parade singer's breathless live rendition of the self-love anthem — performed in front of a gathering on the National Mall — Lizzo then cuts to a shot of herself staring pointedly at the camera, looking perplexed and disgusted. It's unclear which performer is singing 'About Damn Time' in the video Lizzo shared, but according to USA Today, the parade stage's lineup included DJ Nyla Symone, Lee Greenwood, Scotty Hasting, Noah Hicks and Warren Zeiders. The choice to cover the Grammy-winning hit at Trump's procession was certainly an interesting one, though, as Lizzo — who endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 election — has made her disapproval of the twice-impeached POTUS very clear over the years. She's not the only one. While Trump was celebrating the U.S. Army's 250th birthday — as well as his own 79th birthday, which was also Saturday — through a grand show of military might in D.C., a slew of 'No Kings' gatherings broke out across the country in protest of his administration. Those overlapped with the ongoing protests in Los Angeles against the country's Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency, which recently launched raids into multiple workplaces across the city in the name of alleged immigration violations. Lizzo also posted several times about the ICE raids on Bluesky a few days prior to her TikTok about the military parade. 'The irony of an ice agent forcing a Mexican person off of their ancestral land when that agent's ancestors are European immigrants is just…,' she wrote in one post, adding in another: 'And still … there are people who voted for this who are going to sleep with a smile on their faces pleased as pie … It's a wild world y'all.' Watch: Priyanka Chopra Jonas calls daughter Malti 'a light of our lives'

June 20 (UPI) -- Priyanka Chopra Jonas says her daughter Malti is "a light of our lives." The actress, 42, discussed Malti, her 3-year-old daughter with her husband, singer Nick Jonas, when she stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon Thursday to discuss her new movie Heads of State. "She's precocious. She is funny. She's a little comedian and she knows she's funny, so that's even better," Chopra Jonas said. "But, yeah, she's just such a light of our lives right now. This is an amazing season for us." Malti was born in 2022 via surrogate. Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, 32, married in 2018. "It's lovely not to have found your person," Chopra Jonas previously said on the Jennifer Hudson Show. Chopra Jonas also shared on Tonight that she "had a great time" filming Heads of State opposite Idris Elba and John Cena. In the film, Elba plays British prime minister Sam Clarke, while Cena portrays Will Derringer, an actor and the U.S. president. Chopra stars as Noel Bisset, the M16 agent who rescues the pair after their plane is attacked. "I have to bring them to safety, and we have a lot of fun stuff -- explosions and fun things that happen while we're doing it," she told Fallon. Heads of State begins streaming on Prime Video July 2.
