Where to Find the Best Virgin Mojitos in Egypt

CairoScene02-05-2025

Some drinks hydrate. Some revive. These mojitos resurrect.
There's a point - usually around May - when caffeine stops working and water feels like a weak suggestion. You're hot, you're tired, and the idea of functioning through another heatwave starts to feel deeply unrealistic. At that moment, a virgin mojito starts to make sense.
Which is why now - before the full summer collapse - mojitos are back in rotation. Often cold and sometimes minty, they're the most efficient way to say 'I'm out of office' without actually typing it. Classic lime, passionfruit, even rogue versions with whatever fruit looked good that day - virgin mojitos are simply permission to sit still.
So we went looking for the ones that actually deliver. Some are sharp, some are sweet, some arrive in glasses designed for questionable decisions. But all of them understand the assignment. 1980 Branches all over Egypt When life gives you lemons, 1980 gives you a Mix Berry Mojito that tastes like a summer playlist in a glass. Served in sleek cans, it's the kind of drink that makes you forget your inbox exists. Salt of Earth
Garden 8, New Cairo
For those who like their mojitos as wholesome as their Instagram feeds, Salt of Earth delivers. Fresh, farm-to-table ingredients make their mojito feel like a spa day for your taste buds. Saints
Branches all over Egypt
Saints serve up mojitos that are as reliable as your favorite pair of jeans. No superfluities, just a solid, refreshing drink that hits the spot every time. 30 North
Branches all over Egypt
Known for their coffee, but their mojito is the unsung hero - or might we say, the underdog. It's the perfect pick-me-up when caffeine feels too aggressive. Kippis
Branches all over Egypt
Kippis brings a Scandinavian twist to the mojito, making it feel like a cool breeze on a hot day. It's minimalism in a glass, and your inner hygge will thank you. Vasko
Branches all over Egypt
Vasko's mojito is like that friend who always knows what you need (refreshing, reliable, and just the right amount of sweet). CAF
Branches all over Egypt
Were we skeptical? Yes. Did we expect it to taste like minty air and regret? Also yes. But CAF's mojito turned out to be citrusy, refreshing, and dangerously addictive. We left with a smile and trust issues. 929
Branches all over Egypt
929's mojito is what happens when someone actually respects mint. It's sharp, chilled, and served like it's the star of the show - not just something they remembered last minute. One sip and you'll forget you ever settled for soda with lime. Pao
Branches all over Egypt
Mojito with boba? Sounds wrong. Tastes right. Somehow, Pao made the combo work - and now we're chewing our drinks and questioning everything. Koffee Kulture
Arkan Plaza & Golf Central, Sheikh Zayed & U Venues, New Cairo
Their menu is a full-blown thesis (smoothies, matcha, a coffee-mocha-matcha situation we don't fully understand), but then… the mojito arrives. And it's perfect.

Where to Find the Best Refreshers in Egypt

These refreshers are cold, unhinged, and built to help you survive small talk, heat stroke, and pretending you're fine in group settings. It starts the same every time: you're standing in line, heat radiating off the pavement like it personally hates you, your phone is overheating in your hand, and someone just texted 'on my way' when they're clearly still in the shower. Your mouth? Dry. Your patience? Gone. Your soul? Desperately craving something cold, fruity, and unnecessarily dramatic. Enter: the era of the refresher. No longer just a sad iced tea with a lemon slice floating around like it regrets being born, refreshers in Egypt have become a full-blown genre. Some come foamed, others fizzed, a few are suspiciously pink and all of them are engineered to revive your will to socialize. They're for sipping while fake-laughing through a work crisis or recovering from a reckless Uber Comfort splurge. They are the plot twist of summer 2025. So we did the noble thing. We drank our way through berry bubbles, lime layers, matcha mischief, and way too much ice. Some gave us life. Some gave us a mild sugar crash. But all of them gave... personality. Amor Perfecto 18 Salah El Deen St., Zamalek, MAR.V. Mall, New Cairo & Open Air Mall, Madinaty A tiny spot with a big soul. The kind of place where the barista remembers your name, your order, and maybe your star sign. Stepping inside feels like a portal out of Cairo's oven, with refreshers so good, you'll forget you almost melted on the way there. Koffee Kulture Branches all over Egypt Koffee Kulture is that overachiever who's somehow good at everything. Espresso? Nailed it. Cinnamon rolls? Iconic. Refreshers? Just casually reinventing hydration like it's no big deal. Cult Branches all over Egypt Cult's refreshers are exactly like the people who go there—glowy, pastel, and suspiciously calm at 10 AM. It's all Pilates-core and soft life energy… but sometimes, all you need is a drink that looks like your mood board and has little flowers inside. 1980 Branches all over Egypt 1980's menu is overwhelming, from butter chicken to pistachio pancake stacks, but somehow, their refreshers still steal the spotlight like it's their origin story. Vasko Branches all over Egypt They claim to be the kings of coffee beans, but the refreshers? That's the real throne. Cold, bold, and low-key carrying the entire place on their citrusy backs. Lazy Lads The name says lazy, but the crowd says curated chaos. Three startups are being pitched, someone's journaling like it's a sport, and one girl's pretending it's her first time. The only reason any of them are functioning? The refreshers. Liquid coping mechanisms, really. CAF Branches all over Egypt CAF feels like it was built for people who treat their calendars like confessionals. Meetings, meltdowns, mild euphoria—all powered by their dangerously drinkable refreshers. Momochi Branches all over Egypt You came for the mochi, stayed for the aircon, and left with a drink that was somehow neon lavender. No one knows what's in it, but it matches your emotional instability. Sip 18 Kamal Khaleel St., Zamalek & Cinema Radio, Downtown This is for people who wear linen, water their plants on time, and have 'intentional living' in their bio. Your drink matches your tote bag and your moral superiority.

Egyptian Artist Britt Boutros Ghali Launches Berlin-Seoul Exhibitions

Galerie Son will host two solo shows by the acclaimed Egyptian-Norwegian artist, her first in Germany in nearly 50 years. Apr 27, 2025 Egyptian-Norwegian artist Britt Boutros Ghali is set to stage two major solo exhibitions at Galerie Son, opening in Berlin on May 1st during Gallery Weekend 2025 and later in Seoul this September. The exhibitions mark Boutros Ghali's first solo return to Germany since the 1970s, showcasing a series of new large-scale abstract works. Known for blending gestural intensity, cultural symbolism, and tactile materiality, Boutros Ghali draws inspiration from her Scandinavian roots, her life in Egypt, and personal experiences shaped by periods of conflict and change. Her latest pieces, presented for the first time, continue this deeply personal exploration of identity, landscape, and memory. 'Germany has always been kind to me. I'm excited to return,' Boutros Ghali said ahead of the opening. Max Koffler, director of Galerie Son, described the exhibitions as a landmark moment. 'Demand for her work has never been greater,' Koffler said. Boutros Ghali's career spans over six decades. She has been honoured as a Knight of Norway's Royal Order of St. Olav and received Egypt's Lifetime Achievement Award for cultural impact in 2023. Her works are held in prominent private and public collections worldwide. Galerie Son, founded in 2005, is known for its focus on intercultural dialogue, previously hosting exhibitions like 'KoreaKorea;, a project uniting artists from both sides of the Korean DMZ.
