Burton sign McKiernan on season-long loan
Burton Albion have signed midfielder JJ McKiernan on a season-long loan from fellow League One club Lincoln City.

McKiernan started his career with Watford but made his senior debut on loan at Eastleigh before joining Morecambe for the 2023-24 season, scoring seven goals in 33 appearances.
The Northern Irishman played 17 times after his move to Lincoln last season, scoring once.
"I'm really happy to be back and looking to push on from where we left off," he told the club website.
Burton Albion head coach Gary Bowyer said: "We all love his personality, and he had a big impact in the dressing room and on the pitch in last year's success in retaining our League One status."

ENG vs IND 1st Test: India registers four centuries in an away Test for only the second time in history
By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on June 23, 2025, 19:20 IST India's batting display in the ongoing 1st Test against England at Headingley has etched its name into the record books, as four Indian batters—Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant—have scored centuries in the same away Test match. This marks only the second time in India's Test history that four players have reached the three-figure mark in a single away Test. The only previous instance dates back to May 2007, when India played Bangladesh in Mirpur. During that match, centuries were scored by Dinesh Karthik, Wasim Jaffer, Rahul Dravid, and Sachin Tendulkar in a dominant batting display. In the current Test at Leeds, India posted a first-innings total of 471, with centuries from Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal setting the tone. KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant followed up with brilliant tons in the second innings, helping India build a commanding lead over England. The feat reflects the strength and depth of India's batting lineup in overseas conditions. With overcast skies and unpredictable weather ahead, this historic performance has placed India in a strong position to push for victory in the series opener. Photo: Barcelona star De Jong enjoying vacation with former Blaugrana teammate
Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong is currently enjoying his summer vacation alongside a former teammate at the Camp Nou. The player in question? Sergi Roberto. Midfielder De Jong, like the rest of Barcelona's squad, is currently in the midst of a well-earned break from competitive action. Advertisement After a thoroughly successful campaign in 2024/25, and with no place at the Club World Cup, Hansi Flick's stars have spread out across the globe, to enjoy a month-long vacation. The aforementioned De Jong is one such player, who, after recovering from a long-term injury, played a leading role for Barca over the 2nd half of the term. And as alluded to above, over the last 24 hours, the Dutchman was spotted enjoying a meal with a former member of the midfield ranks at the Camp Nou. The photo in question can be seen below, with De Jong joined by none other than Sergi Roberto – currently plying his club trade in Italy with Como: Conor Laird – GSFN

PSG turn down Chelsea and Arsenal approaches for Bradley Barcola
Despite links with a move away, Bradley Barcola (22) looks likely to remain at Paris Saint-Germain this summer, according to a report from L'Équipe. Barcola excelled at the start of the season, however, as the season wore on, he found competition for a place in the starting line-up more intense. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia joined from Napoli in a €70m deal in January and was quickly thrust into the starting XI, whilst Désiré Doué has also risen to prominence after a slow start to his life at PSG. Advertisement However, L'Équipe reports that there is no 'war of egos' between the forwards, who all face intense competition for a place in Luis Enrique's side. However, despite reports to the contrary earlier this year, Barcola is not unhappy with his situation at PSG and wishes to remain with the European champions. PSG feel the same. Chelsea, Arsenal, and Bayern Munich have all made approaches in recent times, however, Les Parisiens have closed the door to a departure. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
