OnePlus 15 rumour roundup: India launch, price, specs and more to expect

India Today21-05-2025

OnePlus has recently confirmed the launch of the OnePlus 13s in India. But we are here to talk about the next flagship phone by the company -- the OnePlus 15. Yes, you read it right. Apparently, there is no OnePlus 14, and the company is jumping onto the next numerical digit. The upcoming OnePlus 15 is already generating buzz months ahead of its expected debut. In India, the flagship is expected to follow the steps of its predecessor, OnePlus 13, and may launch in January 2026. However, the Chinese variant is most likely to launch a few days ahead. While the company is yet to announce its next flagship, the rumours and leaks paint a decent picture of what is coming with the OnePlus 15. Let's take a look. advertisementOnePlus 15: Specs and features leakDisplay: One of the most notable changes, according to renowned tipster Digital Chat Station, is the shift to a flat display — a departure from the curved screens used in recent OnePlus flagships. This 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel is expected to feature a 1.5K resolution, slightly lower than the 2K (QHD+) screen found on the OnePlus 13. However, the new design will reportedly feature ultraslim and symmetrical bezels, akin to the sleek edges seen on modern iPhones.Design: While design specifics remain under wraps, early rumours point to a slim and minimalist build. If OnePlus continues to trim thickness from its devices — the OnePlus 13 was 8.5mm thick — the 15 might be even thinner, possibly without sacrificing battery size.
Processor: Powering the device could be Qualcomm's rumoured Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, identified internally as the SM8850. Benchmarks indicate impressive performance, with the chip scoring 3.8 million on AnTuTu and delivering a 25 per cent improvement in Geekbench 6 compared to its predecessor. It's also said to be built on TSMC's 3nm (N3P) process, promising better efficiency and power. Given that the OnePlus 13 offered configurations of up to 24GB RAM and 1TB of storage, similar or even higher specs are likely.advertisementCamera: When it comes to cameras, details are still murky. Digital Chat Station claims the OnePlus 15 will house a triple-lens rear system, including a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. However, another reliable leaker, Smart Pikachu, has suggested the periscope lens could in fact be a 200-megapixel sensor. If true, this would mark a massive leap in zoom and imaging capabilities for OnePlus.OnePlus 15: Price expectationsThe OnePlus 13 was launched at Rs 69,999 for a vanilla variant. Even though the OnePlus 15 may bring several upgrades, we may not see a huge jump in the pricing. While nothing is confirmed so far, the speculation is that the OnePlus 15 price could start at Rs 80,000. Although a launch in October in China seems likely — following OnePlus' usual release cycle — we're still about five months away from the official unveiling. That leaves plenty of room for changes in hardware and features before the final model is revealed. As always with pre-release leaks, it's wise to view this information with caution. More concrete details are expected in the coming months. Stay tuned for updates as more credible information surfaces about the OnePlus 15.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Snapped Testing Again, What We Know So Far?

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for the launch of the e Vitara in India. The electric car made its debut in Milan, followed by the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January, and has been revealed globally. Recently, Suzuki launched the all-electric e Vitara in the United Kingdom with a price tag of Euro 29,999 (around Rs 35 lakh) for the entry-level variant with a 49 kWh battery pack. Meanwhile, the top-end variant of the EV with Ultra AllGrip-e variant with a 61 kWh battery pack and all-wheel-drive powertrain comes at Euro 37,799 (approximately Rs 44 lakh). Also, a test mule of the all-electric car has been spotted testing in India, suggesting its launch to be slotted soon. Talking about its exterior and design, the e Vitara takes cues from the eVX concept, with the amalgam of the Emotional Versatile Cruiser concept. The front fascia is rather upright, and it looks SUV-ish in all regards. The use of blacked-out elements around the chin offers a rugged appeal to the nose. Around the sides, it gets black cladding for the hexagonal wheel arches. The roof profile is flat for the large part. The chunky flared arches add muscles to the design. The charging port is fixed on the front fender, and the bonnet here is a clamshell unit. Other highlights include a shark-fin antenna and c-pillar-mounted door handles. The Indian spec Suzuki E Vitara will come with two battery pack options: 49 kWh and 61 kWh (as offered in the UK). The smaller battery pack will offer a WLTP range of 346 km, while the bigger battery pack is rated to offer 428 km of range in its single-motor configuration. Meanwhile, the dual-motor variant with the 61 kWh battery pack will offer 412 km of range.

This is an AI-generated image, used for representational purposes only. In a concerted push to tackle the rising wave of digital payment frauds, major public and private sector banks are collaborating with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to develop a Digital Payment Intelligence Platform (DPIP), a new Digital Public Infrastructure aimed at enhancing fraud risk management As per the news agency PTI, the proposed platform will enable real-time intelligence sharing and data analysis to detect and prevent fraudulent digital transactions. According to sources, the RBI-led initiative is a top priority and is expected to go live in the coming months. The Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) has been tasked with building a prototype of DPIP in consultation with 5–10 banks. 'Fraud is a common monster,' a source said, underlining why both public and private banks are being roped in to co-develop the platform. A high-level meeting was recently held to finalise its institutional structure, with participation from senior bank executives and RBI officials. The platform comes in response to a sharp spike in fraud cases. As per the RBI's latest annual report, bank frauds jumped nearly threefold to Rs 36,014 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 12,230 crore a year ago. Public sector banks reported Rs 25,667 crore worth of frauds—up from Rs 9,254 crore in FY24. While card and internet payment frauds dominated in the private sector, public sector banks faced large-scale fraud in their loan portfolios. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Aparat de sudură cu laser de 9000 W (4 în 1) – o revoluție în sudură! The telecom major also highlighted risks posed by OTT messaging platforms, calling them the weakest link in fraud prevention due to lack of regulatory oversight. Airtel Vice Chairman and MD Gopal Vittal, in a letter to NPCI MD & CEO Dilip Asbe, proposed 'closer collaboration to create a repository of known fraudulent financial domains,' and favoured joint public awareness campaigns and technical cooperation to counter online scams. 'The external threat landscape is evolving rapidly. Systems like are useful, but still reactive,' Vittal wrote to the RBI, stressing that fraud must be stopped at the first step—when a user attempts to access a malicious site. The telco's proposal received positive responses from banks and the NPCI, sources said. Airtel has also sought to join forces with Jio and Vodafone Idea to initiate a joint industry-level defence against telecom-based scams. In the first nine months of 2024 alone, India reported over 1.7 million cybercrime complaints, resulting in losses exceeding Rs 11,000 crore. These figures underscore the urgency of building a coordinated, tech-driven ecosystem like DPIP to shield consumers and financial systems from the growing digital threat. RBI-led initiative to curb digital frauds gains momentum, banks roped in to set up DPIP

In a bid to rein in the increasing incidence of digital payment frauds , major public and private sector banks have been roped to develop Digital Payment Intelligence Platform (DPIP) as a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) under the supervision and guidance of the RBI . The proposed platform seeks to bolster fraud risk management by facilitating real-time intelligence sharing and gathering, thereby preventing fraudulent digital transactions, sources said. According to sources, the institutional structure of the proposed entity would be created with the help of both public sector and private sector lenders as fraud is a common monster. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play War Thunder now for free War Thunder Play Now Earlier this month, a high-level meeting in this regard was convened to finalise the structure of the platform where senior bank officials, RBI officials and other stakeholders were present. Since the issue is one of the top agenda for both the government and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), sources said the platform should become operational in the next few months. Live Events Once operational, DPIP will collect and analyse data from various sources to identify potential threats and prevent fraudulent activities. By enabling real-time data sharing, the platform will help prevent scams and ensure secure transactions. Reserve Bank Innovation Hub (RBIH) has been assigned for building a prototype of DPIP in consultation with 5-10 banks. It is going to leverage advanced technologies to curb payment-related frauds. RBI, in June last year, formed a committee, chaired by A P Hota, former MD & CEO of NPCI , to examine various aspects of establishing this digital public infrastructure. According to the latest annual report of the RBI, there has been a significant surge in bank frauds, with the amount involved rising nearly three times to Rs 36,014 crore in FY25, compared to Rs 12,230 crore in the previous year. Of this, as much as Rs 25,667 crore worth of frauds were reported by public sector banks as against Rs 9,254 crore a year ago. Frauds have occurred predominantly in the category of digital payments (card/internet) in terms of the number and primarily in the loan portfolio (advances) in terms of value, it said. While card/internet frauds contributed maximum to the number of frauds reported by private sector banks, frauds in public sector banks were mainly in advances, it said.
