Prince William gets a taste of Cornwall at show

Yahoo06-06-2025

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Edinburgh got the chance to sample some of the produce on offer at the Royal Cornwall Show during a visit.
The royal duo headed to the event at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge on Friday to take a tour of the site and speak to visitors and groups taking part in the show.
During their visit, Prince William and his aunt went inside the Food and Farming Pavilion and tried some of the items being showcased, including Cornish Ratler cider, as large crowds followed the pair around.
The Royals then ventured off to separate parts of the show, which started on Thursday and runs until Saturday.
Among the items the royals tried included cider and gin made in Cornwall along with pasties and preserves.
After leaving the food and drink area, the Duchess of Edinburgh was shown around some of the cattle, pig and sheep on show and received a bouquet of flowers from a young girl.
She also stopped to take selfies with punters around the showgrounds and spoke to organisations including the Girl Guides who had stalls at the event.

Kate Middleton Is "Recalibrating Her Entire Life" After Unexpectedly Skipping Royal Event

Kate Middleton skipped the Royal Ascot last week, which apparently caused huge amounts of drama at the palace (the word "panic" was used) due to her pulling out last minute. And now a source is out here telling the Daily Beast that the Princess of Wales is "recalibrating her entire life." What does that mean, exactly? Here's the full quote, from a "well-connected" former royal staffer. "Kate is recalibrating her entire life, her entire work-life balance," they said. "Wednesday was a wake-up call, not a one-off. She has never found the public appearances, and the forensic attention and criticism that goes with them, at all easy to deal with, and it was just too much this week. The last few years have been horrific; the disgusting things that Harry said about her and William and her family, the relentless speculation about her and William, the queen's death, the king's diagnosis which had them both thinking they were going to have to take over and then her own cancer diagnosis and treatment. It's all taken its toll, and if she needs more time to recover, William will fight tooth and nail to see she is given it." Another insider implied that Kate will be taking it much more easy the rest of the year, and reducing her public appearances. "The important thing here is Kate's recovery. It was too much, unfortunately, for her to have three appearances in under a week, and the lesson has been learned. Kate will take it much easier for the rest of the year. I'd be surprised if you see her more than three times in the next three months." The Palace hasn't confirmed this report as of yet, so stay tuned. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children will have no royal roles under Prince William's reign: insiders

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will have no royal roles once William ascends to the throne, according to insiders. The Prince of Wales, 43, has been planning his ascension to the throne since becoming heir following his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II's death in Sept. 2022. The future king, who has long championed a leaner monarchy, is reportedly crafting his own blueprint for the next generation of working royals. 5 Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's children, Prince Archie and Princess lilibet, will have no royal roles once William ascends to the throne, according to insiders. meghan/Instagram As a huge question mark looms over the Sussex camp's involvement in the monarchy once William becomes King, sources say that Archie, 6, and Lilibet, 4, will be outcasts to the royal fold under his reign. 'What has struck me the most recently is that he just doesn't mention it at all,' an insider told The Times of London of William's attitude toward his estranged brother, the Duke of Sussex, 40. 'It used to be that the family stuff was taking up a lot of space in his head, it was a very close relationship and he was very upset.' 'But he's not letting it get to him at all any more. It is a change. It's sad, but it's a much healthier space for him to be at,' the source added. 5 The Prince of Wales, 43, has been planning his ascension to the throne since becoming heir. WireImage The insider added that despite the 'anger' he once felt toward his brother following the release of 'Spare' in 2023, he is now 'indifferent' toward the rift. The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment. It's been widely reported that the Invictus Games founder wants his children to retain their HRH titles, allowing them the freedom to decide in the future whether to return to royal duties or continue building their lives in the US. 5 The future king, who has long championed a leaner monarchy, is reportedly crafting his own blueprint for the next generation of working royals. Andrew Parsons / Kensington Palace Still, it appears as though the future king maintains a similar stance to some fellow Brits, who last month told The Post in exasperation that 'enough is enough' — and demanded that the Sussexes be stripped of their royal titles. According to the report, the same goes for scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, whom William sees as a 'risk' and 'threat' to the Firm. Both Charles and William are said to be keen to limit Andrew's public appearances with the rest of the royals. 5 According to the report, the same goes for scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, whom William sees as a 'risk' and 'threat' to the Firm. Getty Images When Andrew stepped down as a working royal shortly after his friendship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein came to light, he was kept at arm's length by Charles and the rest of the Windsor clan. William has previously signaled that he is carving out his own path as the future monarch. 'I'm trying to do it differently and I'm trying to do it for my generation … I'm doing it with maybe a smaller 'r' in the royal, if you like,' he said last year during a four-day trip to Cape Town for the Earthshot awards. 'So it's more about impact, philanthropy, collaboration, convening and helping people. I'm also going to throw empathy in there as well because I really care about what I do.' 5 It's been widely reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex want Archie and Lilibet to retain their HRH titles. Experts believe William may be forced to reconsider his plans for a slimmed-down monarchy, given the absence of his estranged brother, Prince Harry.
