King Charles and Queen Camilla send special message to senior royal
Charles and Camilla have wished a happy birthday to the Duchess of Gloucester on her 79th birthday, as she continues her lifetime of service to the Firm King Charles and Queen Camilla have sent a special message to the Duchess of Gloucester on her 79th birthday, sharing a unique portrait of the senior working royal. Marking her birthday on Friday, the King and Queen shared an elegant photo of Birgitte on social media, wishing her the best for her birthday celebrations. The photograph showed the Duchess dressed in a cream ensemble with a wide-brimmed hat and pearl necklace. The photo was captured during her hosting of the Not Forgotten Association garden party at Buckingham Palace in May. The birthday message featured a simple caption reading "Happy Birthday to The Duchess of Gloucester!" accompanied by a celebration emoji. The Danish-born royal, who is married to the late Queen Elizabeth II's cousin Prince Richard, continues her extensive programme of royal duties as one of the senior working members of the royal family. Birgitte, Duchess of Gloucester - born Birgitte Eva van Deurs Henriksen on June 20th 1946 - first met Prince Richard while studying at Cambridge University in the late 1960s, with the couple marrying on July 8th 1972 at St Andrew's Church in Northamptonshire. On her wedding day, Birgitte opted for a dress created by one of the late Queen Elizabeth's favourite designers Norman Hartnell, and teamed the stunning look with a floral headpiece instead of a traditional tiara. Just six weeks after their wedding, Prince Richard's elder brother, Prince William of Gloucester, was killed in a flying accident, with Prince Richard then unexpectedly became heir apparent to the dukedom. Prince Richard and Birgitte assumed their current titles as Duke and Duchess of Gloucester when Prince Richard's father, Prince Henry, passed away in 1974. The Gloucesters have three children together - Alexander, Davina and Rose. The couple's union has now spanned five decades, as they continue their years of service and dedication to the Crown, attending many royal engagements alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla. Recently, the Duchess made a notable appearance earlier this week at the Garter Day procession in Windsor, having been invested as a Royal Lady Companion to the Order of the Garter last year. She also attended Royal Ascot on Wednesday.

Meghan & Harry's Exit Fueled By Bigger Dreams? Biographer Drops Bombshell
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal departure in 2020 wasn't just a family fallout, it was a calculated move. As per royal expert Valentine Low in his book Courtiers, the couple's decision wasn't about privacy, but the freedom to pursue personal goals, especially Meghan's ambition to build a brand and generate wealth. The Sussexes initially proposed a hybrid royal model, but Queen Elizabeth rejected it, insisting they could either be full-time royals or step aside entirely. Soon after, they relocated to California, signed a reported $100 million Netflix deal, and launched several media ventures. While they've avoided direct political involvement, their proximity to Biden's circle has kept political speculation alive. Read More

Cloudflare CEO says people aren't checking AI chatbots' source links
Companies that develop generative AI always make it a point to say that they include links to websites in the answers that their chatbots generate for users. But Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince has revealed to Axios that search traffic referrals keep plummeting. Publishers are facing an existential threat, he said, because people aren't clicking through those chatbot links and are relying more and more on AI summaries without digging deeper. Prince told Axios that 10 years ago, Google sent a publisher one visitor for every two pages it had crawled. Six months ago, the ratio was one visitor for every six pages, and now it's one for every 18. OpenAI sent one visitor to a publisher for every 250 pages it crawled six months ago, while Anthropic sent one visitor for every 6,000 pages. These days, OpenAI sends one visitor to a publisher for every 1,500 pages, whereas Anthropic sends one visitor for every 60,000 pages. People have come to trust AI chatbots more over the past few months. The problem for publishers is that they don't earn from advertisements if people don't click through links leading to their websites, and that's why Prince is encouraging them to take action to make sure they're fairly compensated. Prince said Cloudflare is currently working on a tool to block bots that scrape content for large language models even if a web page already has a "no crawl" instruction. If you'll recall, several outlets had reported in 2024 that AI companies have been ignoring websites' Robots Exclusion Protocol, or files and taking their content anyway to train their technologies. Cloudflare has been looking for ways to block scrapers since last year. But it was only in March when Cloudflare officially introduced AI Labyrinth, which uses AI-generated content to "slow down, confuse, and waste the resources of AI Crawlers and other bots that don't respect 'no crawl' directives." It works by linking an unauthorized crawler a series of AI-generated pages that are convincing enough but don't actually have the contents of the site the tool it's protecting. That way, the crawler ends up wasting time and resources. "I go to war every single day with the Chinese government, the Russian government, the Iranians, the North Koreans, probably Americans, the Israelis, all of them who are trying to hack into our customer sites," Prince said. "And you're telling me, I can't stop some nerd with a C-corporation in Palo Alto?"

Ashwell Prince: Winning as a diverse team means everything to South Africa
REAL SUCCESS Ashwell Prince celebrated South Africa's World Test Championship win, highlighting the profound significance of diversity and unity in the team's historic success. Picture: Michael Sherman/IOL Image: Michael Sherman/IOL The Proteas victory in the World Test Championship (WTC) as a truly diverse team was the most special moment of South Africa batting coach Ashwell Prince's career. That's quite a statement for the gritty left-handed batsman that played 119 games for South Africa across all three formats. The majority of those matches came in the 66 Tests where Prince scored 11 centuries and as many 50s. Since transitioning into coaching, harnessing all the available talent became one of the keys for Prince. That's why when the Proteas beat Australia in the WTC final at the home of Lord's led by Temba Bavuma and featuring Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj it was a moment of unadulterated pride for Prince. And it's exactly something that I mentioned to my team back then that I want to achieve. But if you achieve that at provincial level or franchise level, the Titans are not going to be happy about that. I'm talking about winning as a diverse team,' said Prince. 'Other provinces won't be happy about that because that's one province winning. But when you achieve that as the country, this is exactly what it is about. And so, to have the opportunity to be a part of that, it's truly special. It's a special occasion for all of us and for the country.' As the batting coach, it would be expected that Prince's role would always be quite technical for his willow warriors, but he explained how his strategy for their run-chase in the fourth innings was purely a mental approach.
