NCB, EAGLE Visakhapatnam organises Cyclothon to commemorate 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada'
Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 22 (ANI): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with EAGLE Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with Decathlon, successfully organised a Cyclothon today as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada' campaign.
The event was held in alignment with the United Nations' resolution to observe 26th June as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.
The Cyclothon was flagged off by Pankaj Kumar Dwivedi, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the event was coordinated by Rajan Kumar, Superintendent, NCB Visakhapatnam, S Ramesh, Inspector EAGLE and Mrs. Kalyani, Inspector EAGLE.
The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including EAGLE Anti-Narcotics
Task Force, Visakhapatnam, and State Bank of India (SBI), Siripuram Branch.
Over 100 cyclists from diverse backgrounds took part in the event, raising awareness and spreading the powerful message: Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs.' The participants pedalled through designated city routes, symbolising unity and a collective stand against the menace of drug abuse.
The event reinforced NCB's and ANTF's commitment to community engagement and drug prevention through public awareness initiatives and collaborative efforts. (ANI)

NIA chargesheets key aide of BKI terrorist Landa and gangster Batala in Punjab terror conspiracy case
New Delhi [India], June 22 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted Jatinder Singh, a key aide of Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist Lakhbir Singh also known as Landa and dreaded gangster Pavittar Batala in a Punjab terror conspiracy case. Jatinder Singh alias Joti, hailing from Gurdaspur district of Punjab, was arrested by NIA from Mumbai on December 23, 2024 in the case, said NIA in a statement. NIA found during the investigation that Jatinder was involved in illegal procurement and supply of firearms from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab-based gangsters. He was facilitating the supply of weapons to ground operatives of Batala, a close associate of Designated Individual Terrorist Lakhbir Singh alias Landa. Batala's foreign-based associates were coordinating Jatinder's operations in India. The weapons were being used by Batala's operatives in Punjab to promote BKI's criminal-terror activities. It was further found during NIA investigations that Jatinder used to procure illegal weapons from a known arms supplier, Baljeet Singh alias Rana Bhai, in Madhya Pradesh. Baljeet had already been arrested and chargesheeted by the NIA. The accused were using virtual numbers and encrypted applications to avoid detection by LEAs. NIA is investigating the role of Landa as well as designated terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda and their foreign-based accomplices in the conspiracy. On June 12, NIA searched 15 locations linked with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terror organisation in Punjab and Haryana. The places searched include Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Kapurthala and Rupnagar districts of Punjab and Sirsa in Haryana in connection with the January 2025 grenade attack at a police post in Amritsar district of Punjab, said the NIA in a statement. NIA said a host of incriminating materials, including mobiles and digital devices and documents, were seized during the searches, and are being examined for further clues to the terror syndicate of BKI. As part of its investigation, NIA, which took over the case in April 2025 and re-registered it as RC-09/2025/NIA/DLI, on June 12 searched the premises of accused and suspects linked to Mandeep as well as Sarwan Singh alias Bhola, currently based in USA, and his brother Mandeep Singh alias Makka. Amit Shah lays foundation stones for National Forensic Science University, Central Forensic Science Laboratory in Nava Raipur
Raipur (Chhattisgarh) [India], June 22 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday laid the foundation stone for National Forensic Science University (NFSU) and Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Chhattisgarh's Nava Raipur. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai labelled it a 'historic day'. 'Today is a historic day for Chhattisgarh as the foundation of National Forensic Science University and Central Forensic Science Laboratory was laid in the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah,' he said, adding, 'Chhattisgarh today received a gift in the form of these two institutes.' On his two-day visit to Chhattisgarh, Shah arrived at the Swami Vivekananda Airport in Raipur and was received by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and other state government officials. During his visit, Shah plans to participate in various programs, including a meeting with the Director General of Police (DGP) and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states in Nava Raipur on security-related issues. The Union Home Minister will also review security on left-wing extremism. 'I reached Raipur for a two-day visit to Chhattisgarh. I will hold a review meeting on Naxalism with DGP/ADGP and senior officials of Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Odisha. Tomorrow, I will meet the security forces fighting against Naxalites. There is no place for violence and red terror in a civilised society. That is why we have taken a pledge to root out Naxalism, and we will do it,' Shah posted on X. Earlier in the day, Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that Shah would visit Abujhmad, a former Maoist fortress, with Chief Minister Sai to meet army commanders and villages and review the developmental works. 'The Union Home Minister will be going to Abujhmad with the CM and meeting commanders (of the army) and villagers, as well as visiting the camp and reviewing the developmental works,' Sharma told reporters here. Jammu and Kashmir [India], June 22 (ANI): Following the arrest of two individuals by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for allegedly sheltering terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack, BJP leader and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Sunday said the development would prove crucial in uncovering key details about the perpetrators' connections and operational network. 'If Pakistan does not work towards curbing the terror activities, it would become a victim of their terrorism and will be destroyed if it does not walk on the right path now,' said Kavinder Gupta. Speaking to ANI, about the arrests, the BJP leader said, 'After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, our agencies were steadfast on finding the accused. It was a brutal attack that claimed the lives of 26 people. India retaliated to the attack in the most befitting manner.' 'A lot of things will be revealed in the investigation now after the NIA has arrested two men for harbouring the terrorists for the horrendous attack. The breakthrough will help discover who the individuals are linked to and about their networks,' said Gupta. 'We will stop cross-border infiltration, but the bigger problem is the people supporting them from within the country...
