NCB, EAGLE organise cyclothon in Visakhapatnam
Officials from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with EAGLE Visakhapatnam, organised a 'Cyclothon' as part of the ongoing 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada' campaign, here in the city on Sunday. The event was held in alignment with the United Nations' (UN) resolution to observe June 26 as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. NCB Superintendent Rajan Kumar, Eagle Inpsectors S. Ramesh and Kalyani graced the event. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including EAGLE Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Visakhapatnam, and State Bank of India (SBI) Siripuram branch. Over 100 cyclists took part in the event, raising awareness and spreading the message — 'Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs'. The participants pedalled through designated city routes, symbolising unity and collective stand against the menace of drug abuse. The event reinforced NCB' s and ANTF' S commitment to community engagement and drug prevention through public awareness and collaborative initiatives.

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], June 22 (ANI): The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with EAGLE Visakhapatnam, in collaboration with Decathlon, successfully organised a Cyclothon today as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Pakhwada' campaign. The event was held in alignment with the United Nations' resolution to observe 26th June as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The Cyclothon was flagged off by Pankaj Kumar Dwivedi, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and the event was coordinated by Rajan Kumar, Superintendent, NCB Visakhapatnam, S Ramesh, Inspector EAGLE and Mrs. Kalyani, Inspector EAGLE. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, including EAGLE Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Visakhapatnam, and State Bank of India (SBI), Siripuram Branch. 3 grilled over resemblance to Pahalgam attack suspects
Patna: Three youths in Patna were picked up by police for interrogation after the faces of two of them were found to resemble sketches of terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack in Kashmir. Locals alerted Kotwali police station after spotting two people near the Dak Bungalow area on Friday who appeared similar to those in the circulated sketches. Upon receiving the information late at night, police mobilised three teams to locate the suspects. A search operation was carried out across several locations, including Patna Junction, Dak Bungalow Crossing, Hotel Gali and Fraser Road. After five hours of raids, officers detained three people from an apartment on Fraser Road. Subsequent investigation revealed that all three were clothing merchants from Darbhanga district. Rajan Kumar, SHO of Kotwali police station, said, "We received information from local sources that two people resembling the sketches of the Pahalgam attackers were roaming near Dak Bungalow. The police searched for them and picked them up from an apartment. After questioning, the police released them." According to police, two people had been seen photographing the area near Dak Bungalow Crossing, prompting a local to alert the authorities. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had departed. CCTV footage from the area was reviewed, showing two people on a motorcycle, with one taking photographs. Following their trail led police to the Fraser Road apartment. During questioning, one youth told the police that he had been taking photographs because he was visiting Patna for the first time and wanted to share the images with a friend.

Bihar: Ex-police officer's son shoots himself, suicide note recovered
Patna: A 40-year-old man, son of a retired senior police officer, died by suicide on Friday. He shot himself with a country made pistol after an alleged argument with his wife in Bihar's capital, Patna police said. Police have recovered a suicide note from his apartment. The son of a former deputy superintendent of police, who was unemployed, reportedly often argued with his wife over his drinking habits. 'After a dispute at night, the victim, the only son of retired DSP committed suicide by shooting himself with an illegal firearm,' Kotwali station house officer (SHO) Rajan Kumar said. The hospital informed the police. The Kotwali police are investigating the matter. The body was sent for postmortem. 'Preliminary inquiry suggests the deceased used an illegal firearm to shoot himself. A probe is underway. The reason behind taking this extreme step is yet to be known,' Kumar said.
