Bakhtyar Irani defends Sajid Khan, questions Navina Bole's allegations; writes ‘Stop making easy targets'
Actor Bakhtyar Irani has come forward to strongly defend filmmaker Sajid Khan amid fresh controversy. His reaction follows actress Navina Bole's viral interview with Subhojit Ghosh, where she accused Khan of inappropriate behavior during a 2006 meeting. Navina, known for her role in Ishqbaaz, claimed that Khan had asked her to remove her clothes in the name of an audition, which allegedly took place at his residence. T he clip from her interview quickly spread across social media, drawing sharp reactions. Among them was Bakhtyar Irani, who took to the comments section to criticize Navina for speaking up after so many years and for allegedly targeting someone easily. 'Sorry but why did you go home for a meeting? Meetings normally happen at offices or public places,' Bakhtyar wrote. 'Women of 1980s or women of 2025 then and now both always knew the basics. I am sorry but stop making easy targets now. When did this happen? Why didn't you come out then?' He continued, 'With all due respect to all women, it is high time we stop giving interviews after 30 days of the incident… that much time is enough to get brains and courage.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Massachusetts: These Walk In Tubs Are Cheap (See Prices) Walk In Tub Discounts Learn More Undo Navina Bole was quick to respond. She called out Bakhtyar for casting doubt on her account and urged him to watch the full podcast before forming opinions. 'It is saddening that you would question the authenticity of what I have said, considering we have been colleagues,' she wrote. 'I went assuming it was his office, which turned out to be his residence. It happened in 2006… Not that I even owe someone like you an explanation. I have brains and courage and thus spoke my truth.' Navina's statement was part of a podcast conversation about her experiences in the industry, not a press-initiated revelation, she clarified. The incident has reignited conversations around the casting couch and the timing of disclosures in the entertainment industry.

Taylor Swift's NFL impact goes beyond Travis Kelce—Erin Andrews explains how she changed the game
Erin Andrews believes Taylor Swift made football more inclusive for women (Getty Images) Taylor Swift's presence at Kansas City Chiefs games may have initially drawn headlines for her romance with Travis Kelce , but the ripple effects of her involvement in the NFL world have reached far beyond celebrity buzz. Longtime FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews believes that Swift has played a meaningful role in making the league more accessible and enjoyable for female viewers—and the numbers appear to back her up. How Taylor Swift helped change the game for women watching the NFL, according to Erin Andrews During a live taping of her Calm Down podcast with co-host Charissa Thompson at the Cannes Lions 2025 Festival of Creativity, Andrews addressed how Swift's affiliation with the NFL has helped shift the perception of professional football among casual female fans. While answering a question from the audience about coverage of women's sports, Andrews steered the conversation toward the changing demographic landscape of NFL viewership. 'Our ratings are up for women, which is huge for us,' Andrews shared. 'What's really cool is women aren't as afraid. Listen, America's Game of the Week, which is the game I do on Sundays, the demographic is split down the middle. It's like the highest-rated show for women out there, which is amazing for us.' That surge in interest didn't happen in a vacuum. Andrews pointed to Taylor Swift's popularity and her willingness to step into the NFL spotlight—cheering on Kelce from luxury suites and becoming a visual fixture of Chiefs game days—as a major factor. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 노안+백내장 안보이는 답답함! 더는 방치 하지 마세요! 부산백내장노안 전문안과 더 알아보기 Undo 'But I think the casual fan doesn't feel as afraid to watch professional sports right now, watch the NFL because, well, our girl Taylor helped out with that,' she said. 'It's cool. Which, we're excited. We want casual fans, we want fans that know a lot. Listen to the podcast, watch our broadcasts, we'll help teach you the game.' Interestingly, Andrews and Thompson had once publicly encouraged Swift to consider Kelce as a romantic interest. 'If you are looking for a guy, please try our friend Travis, he is fantastic,' Andrews said in a 2023 podcast episode. 'This is one, Taylor, I know we're not the best of friends, we're not even friends, but I consider you one. Take us up on this, go on a date with this guy.' Swift apparently took that advice to heart. Since going public with Kelce, she's been regularly spotted at NFL games, and in the process, has brought a wave of new fans—especially women—into the league's orbit. According to Marissa Solis, the NFL's senior vice president of global brand and consumer marketing, nearly 47% of the league's audience now comprises women, a number that continues to climb. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell acknowledged the impact of Swift's involvement. 'Having the 'Taylor Swift effect' is also a positive,' he said. 'Both Travis and Taylor are wonderful young people, and they seem very happy. She knows great entertainment, and I think that's why she loves NFL football.' While it's unclear how long Swift will remain a regular presence at NFL games, what's evident is that her influence has helped redefine how women connect with the sport. With Andrews continuing her Sunday coverage on FOX and Swift expected to return to the stands for the upcoming season, the NFL may have found one of its most unexpected and effective ambassadors. French literature influences writers and politicians in Kerala: Tharoor
T'puram: Congress MP Shashi Tharoor stressed the cultural bond between France and Kerala, stating that French literature had a deep influence on writers and politicians of the state. Speaking at the launch of the 'Pardon My French' bookshelf at DC Books, organised by the French Institute of India on Thursday, Tharoor said, "French culture and ideas have seeped into our consciousness through political writing, appreciation and values of democracy, liberty, equality and fraternity." He noted that the extraordinary contribution of French writers opened new ways of thinking. "More than 100 years ago, in a transformative act of literary vision, Nalappat Narayana Menon translated Victor Hugo's Les Misérables into Malayalam as 'Paavangal'. It was a cultural transplantation and the soil of Kerala received it not just out of curiosity but with gratitude and a bit of revolutionary fervour. Our famous communist leader, EMS Namboothiripad, said 'Paavangal' was one of the sparks that led him to communism. Writers like Thagazhi and O V Vijayan have said that in the translated works of French writing, they found a new idiom of empathy, a new narrative possibility and a new lens through which to view the oppressed and the invisible. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo With 'Paavangal', Malayalam found a weapon for awakening and that engagement partly contributed to the decades of remarkable visionary and social ferment in Kerala from the 1930s onwards," Tharoor said. He also mentioned that many other Malayalis started to translate works of French and Russian fiction and modernist works and that's how the doors to people like Guy de Maupassant, Victor Hugo and Émile Zola were opened to Malayali minds. "That's how many Malayalis discovered the challenges of realism and introspection in a literature that mirrors society and questions it," he added. "The French, in many ways, have a cultural affinity to us, including in our great conversational habit. The habit of sitting around and discussing over coffee. The Bengali adda, the Malayali tea shop. This is France, except that it is taking place in our languages," he said.
