GENYOUth joined by New Orleans Saints Linebacker Demario Davis, as well as Amazon Access, Domino's Smart Slice, Frito-Lay, PepsiCo Foundation, and Quaker to Celebrate High-Impact Statewide Initiative to Increase Access to 9 Million School Meals Benefitting 32,000 Students
NEW ORLEANS, Feb. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- GENYOUth, the national non-profit organization founded by America's dairy farmers and the NFL to help ensure school children thrive by living well-nourished and physically active lives, announced today the culmination of its Super School Meals Super Bowl LIX community initiative. In collaboration with NOLA Public Schools, New Orleans Super Bowl LIX Host Committee, and Dairy MAX; and purpose-minded corporate sponsors Amazon Access, Domino's Smart Slice, Entergy, Frito-Lay, PepsiCo Foundation, and Quaker, GENYOUth has provided grants for Grab and Go school-nutrition equipment packages, including mobile meal carts and milk coolers, to over 59 Louisiana schools to increase access to and participation in healthy school meals.
At Benjamin Franklin High School in New Orleans this morning, 200 students joined New Orleans Saints Linebacker Demario Davis, along with NOLA Public Schools officials and community leaders including Interim Superintendent Dr. Fateama S. Fulmore, as well as "The NFL Today" on CBS Host James "JB" Brown, and Pro Bowl NFL Tight End & Alltroo Co-Founder Kyle Rudolph, to celebrate Super School Meals. This initiative is making critical strides in tackling food insecurity among Louisiana youth and leaving a positive legacy of community impact in the 2025 Super Bowl's host market. It means increasing access to approximately 9 million school meals benefitting 32,000 students, thanks to GENYOUth's generous supporters, as well as through additional support from Pennington Biomedical Research Center (which is providing elementary schools with Greaux Healthy nutrition education resource kits). The equipment packages are critical to fostering students' nutrition security. Schools have also received NFL FLAG-In-School kits to promote student participation in physical activity.
The commitment of GENYOUth to help end student hunger will continue on Saturday, February 8, with Taste of the NFL presented by Frito-Lay, Quaker, and the PepsiCo Foundation, at the National WWII Museum in New Orleans (TasteoftheNFL.com). Net proceeds from Super Bowl LIX's largest philanthropic culinary event will benefit schools in Louisiana and throughout the nation.
"With one in four Louisiana children living in food insecurity¹, and 30 million students nationwide relying on school meals for a significant portion of their daily nutrition, it is critical that we team up to support school nutrition programs, which provide the largest safety net for youth food insecurity with essential nutrition including milk/dairy, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins," said Ann Marie Krautheim, M.A., R.D., L.D., CEO of GENYOUth. "Super School Meals is enhancing nutrition security among youth by providing the equipment and resources proven to increase equitable access to healthy meals. I am grateful to our committed and purpose-minded supporters for helping us tackle youth food insecurity and create a lasting impact in the 2025 Super Bowl host community, Louisiana."
Stephanie Loup, M.P.H, R.D., L.D.N., Executive Director of Nutrition, Louisiana Department of Education, added "Alternative school meal delivery models like Grab and Go can help improve nutrition operations and increase access to and participation in school meals. I am here today at Benjamin Franklin High School to celebrate the culmination of Super School Meals. I thank GENYOUth and its supporters, and honor NOLA Public Schools, for working to ensure all students are well-nourished and able to thrive every day with good nutrition."
NOLA Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Fateama S. Fulmore said, "We are excited to see the impact of Super School Meals in our school district. This high-impact community initiative is helping to remove barriers and ensure all students get the nutrition they need to succeed academically in school and beyond. Thank you to GENYOUth and purpose-driven supporters for their continued commitment to our childrens' health and overall well-being."
"Frito-Lay, Quaker, and the PepsiCo Foundation are committed to supporting schools with equitable access to nutritious meals and other critical resources as a way to combat hunger in underserved communities," said C.D. Glin, President, PepsiCo Foundation, and Global Head of Social Impact at PepsiCo. "We are proud to support the Super School Meals and Taste of the NFL initiatives, and the tangible impact we'll be making across the New Orleans community."
"We have long recognized that if a student is hungry, they can't unlock their full potential. Our commitment to student health and well-being is reflected in our Domino's Smart Slice Pizza, a delicious and nutritious meal that is served in schools across America," said Joe Jordan, President of U.S. and Global Services, Domino's. "Super School Meals, which is a key element in Domino's community outreach, is working to address the issue of food insecurity in our communities. Domino's is proud to be a supporter of GENYOUth since the organization's inception."
Nancy Dalton, Director, Amazon Access, shared that "Amazon Access believes everyone should have access to healthy food, and your ability to access food should not be dictated by where you live. We are proud of our work collaborating with GENYOUth on Super School Meals to ensure all students in Louisiana school districts and parishes have access to quality school meals, and what they need to live healthy lives."
"The New Orleans Super Bowl Host Committee, with the support of Entergy, is proud to be a partner of the Super School Meals program. With Super Bowl LIX just a few days away, we thank GENYOUth and all supporters who are prioritizing the health and well-being of Louisiana students today and every day," said Jay Cicero, President and CEO, Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation/Super Bowl LIX Host Committee.
Keira Lombardo, CEO, Dairy MAX, said that "Dairy farmers in Louisiana and throughout the nation are committed year-round to the health and well-being of our nation's children. We are proud to be partnering with GENYOUth and other purpose-driven organizations on Super School Meals to grow school meal participation and to provide equitable access to nutritious dairy products."
"Seeing the benefits that Super School Meals is bringing to schools like Benjamin Franklin High School is very inspiring. As a professional football player and father, I understand the crucial role school nutrition plays in the lives of students. We must all do our part to ensure students have access to school meal and physical activity programs," said Demario Davis, Linebacker for the New Orleans Saints.

Did the Washington Commanders win the offseason?

Did the Washington Commanders "win" the offseason? Don't tell that to longtime Washington fans who were accustomed to winning the offseason under former owner Dan Snyder. In those days, Snyder would make multiple flashy offseason moves that went nowhere. That was a long time ago. Long before Snyder sold the team, he quit spending money, and Washington was as bad in the offseason as it was during the season. The Commanders found themselves in a unique position this offseason. They were coming off a 12-win season and an appearance in the NFC championship game. And while Washington has more needs than most teams that won 12 games, the focus was on improving the roster, not overhauling it. Most importantly, the Commanders weren't looking for a quarterback. Jayden Daniels was everything they envisioned and more last season. So, this offseason was about building around Daniels. How'd they do? While Washington didn't go crazy in free agency, mainly focusing on short-term deals with veterans and re-signing key internal free agents, general manager Adam Peters swung for the fences in two trades. The Commanders acquired wide receiver Deebo Samuel and offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil in different trades, filling massive holes at those positions. Bucky Brooks of believes that Washington, along with four other teams, did win the offseason: It's hard to improve from good to great in the NFL, but the Commanders might join the league's elites with an improved roster that features more blue-chip players around 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels. The trades for Laremy Tunsil and Deebo Samuel place a pair of Pro Bowl-caliber players in marquee positions (left tackle and WR2) that should help the offense unlock another gear in 2025. If the team can resolve Terry McLaurin's contract situation, the Commanders will have a chance to open the season with an electric offense that will put plenty of stress on defensive coordinators crafting plans to stop the juggernaut. Defensively, the additions of Deatrich Wise and Jonathan Jones fortify a unit that is coming into its own under the direction of head coach Dan Quinn and defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr. If the Commanders continue to receive key contributions from their young defensive backs (Mike Sainristil, Quan Martin and Trey Amos), the reigning NFC runner-up could take the next step in 2025. My expectation for 2025: The Commanders are built to run through the NFC with a superstar quarterback surrounded by a stellar supporting cast. If Washington can secure the NFC's No. 1 seed, we could see a championship parade in the nation's capital come February. It's hard not to like how Peters approached the offseason. While questions remain about the pass rush, the Commanders worked hard to strengthen their run defense and add valuable depth to the secondary. It's challenging to fill every need in one offseason, but in two years as Washington's GM, Peters has restocked three of the NFL's most important positions. The Commanders have a franchise quarterback, two bookend offensive tackles and quality cornerback depth. That's a tremendous offseason.

Cincinnati Reacts To Exciting Jason and Travis Kelce News

Cincinnati Reacts To Exciting Jason and Travis Kelce News originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It's been an incredible ride for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The 35-year-old briefly considered retirement after last season but confirmed earlier this month that he's coming back. Kelce has made the Pro Bowl ten times in his storied career. Advertisement His brother Jason recently wrapped up a remarkable 13-year NFL career with the Philadelphia Eagles. A six-time All-Pro, Jason helped bring a Super Bowl title to the City of Brotherly Love and will go down as one of the greatest centers in league history. Earlier this week, both brothers got more well-deserved recognition. ESPN revealed its NFL All-Quarter Century team, highlighting the best players from the past 25 years. Both Kelce brothers made the cut. The University of Cincinnati, where both played their college football, celebrated the announcement with a message: 'Congrats, fellas! @tkelce @JasonKelce' The graphic also noted that Cincinnati is the only Big 12 school with two players selected. Advertisement Travis is one of three tight ends on the list, joining Rob Gronkowski and Tony Gonzalez. Jason was the lone center named. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (87).Stephen Lew-Imagn Images The quarterback selections included Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Patrick Mahomes. The wide receivers were Randy Moss, Julio Jones and Marvin Harrison. The running backs selected were Priest Holmes, Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry. The Kelce brothers overlapped at Cincinnati. Jason played from 2007 to 2010 before being drafted in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft. Travis redshirted in 2008 but went on to appear in 35 games from 2009 to 2012. Their careers have been nothing short of legendary, on the field, in the locker room and now, on an exclusive list honoring greatness across a quarter century of NFL history. NFL top 100 rankings: Arizona Cardinals TE Trey McBride comes in at No. 42

Pete Prisco ranked the top 100 players of 2025 in the NFL. Only Trey McBride makes the list for the Cardinals. Every offseason, we see player rankings — top 100, top 101, top 50, whatever. Every year, we see where Arizona Cardinals players land. CBS Sports' Pete Prisco gave his top 100 list entering the 2025 season. Only one Cardinals player made the list — not Budda Baker, not James Conner. The only Cardinal to make the top 100 was tight end Trey McBride, coming in at No. 42, moving up from No. 83 a year ago. McBride finished fourth in the league with 111 catches in his breakout season. He had just two touchdown catches, which is a number that will go up this season ... count on it. McBride 100% should be on this list. He has entered the conversation as being the best tight end in the NFL. It is true that his two touchdown catches were simply fluky. He did rush for a touchdown and score once on a fumble recovery in the end zone. He was a frequent target in the red zone, but because of a couple of drops and a couple of missed throws by quarterback Kyler Murray, he didn't end up with six to eight touchdown grabs. Of course, while McBride is an easy choice for this list, two Cardinals players are notably snubbed — Baker and Conner. Baker continues to play at an elite level at safety and gets Pro Bowl nods year after year, a sign that coaches and players respect and value him. Conner's absence is disappointing because he produces among the best running backs, reaching nearly 1,100 yards last season and continuing to be a big-play runner as he advances in his career. Looking ahead to next offseason, hopefully McBride isn't alone. It would be good to see McBride, Baker, Conner, quarterback Kyler Murray and receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in Prisco's rankings in 2026.
