‘Alert' & ‘The Cleaning Lady' Canceled By Fox

Yahoo11-06-2025

Fox has determined the fate of two bubble shows, canceling dramas Alert: Missing Persons Unit after three seasons and The Cleaning Lady after four.
The network had delayed final decisions on its remaining bubble series until after their current seasons had aired. Alert wrapped its Season 3 run on May 27, and The Cleaning Lady's fourth season ended on June 3.

The cancellations do not come as a surprise as Alert, The Cleaning Lady as well as the other two Fox scripted series not picked up for next season, Accused and The Great North, sit at the bottom of the network's 2024-25 season rankings.
Animated comedy The Great North also is expected to be canceled once its current fifth season ends later this month.
As for anthology Accused, developed and executive produced by Howard Gordon, it might come back in the future for a limited run as an event, Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, said last month.
RELATED:
'We love the show and Howard Gordon,' he said. 'As you know, it's anthological, which means it doesn't have the same timetable on renewals as shows that have locked casts. And so right now, we're talking with Howard if there's an opportunity down the line to eventize a return, something that can really work for us and Howard, we'd love to do it. Right now. there's no plan, but there could be down the line.'
All four series are Fox Entertainment co-productions with outside lead studios, Warner Bros. TV (The Cleaning Lady), Sony Pictures TV (Alert, Accused) and 20th Television Animation (The Great North).
With Sony TV, Fox also has its breakout new medical drama series Doc, which is coming back in the fall for a 22-episode season; Warner Bros. TV is behind Fox's upcoming thriller drama Memory of a Killer.
According to sources, Fox explored continuing Alert, possibly with some retooling, as the network brass liked Scott Caan as a leading man and the show's evolution into a buddy-cop show. Ultimately, the ratings were not there.
RELATED:
The Cleaning Lady, headlined by Élodie Yung, underwent creative retooling heading into this season after the series faced the tragic loss of its male lead Adan Canto to cancer. The drama never regained its footing but maintained a passionate core fan base that is left with loose ends and unresolved issues in the Season 4 finale.
Alert: Missing Persons Unit is set in the Philadelphia Police Department's Missing Persons Unit. Each episode featured a search for a missing person headed by detectives Jason Grant (Caan) and Nikki Batista (Dania Ramirez). Together with the MPU team, their job is to find the missing or abducted and reunite them with their loved ones.
Adeola Role, Ryan Broussard and Alisha-Marie Ahamed also starred. Carla Kettner served as showrunner and executive producer, with Jon Cowan, Brandon Sonnier, Brandon Margolis, Sean Hennen, John Eisendrath, Jamie Foxx, Datari Turner and Brad Turner also executive producing.
RELATED:
The Cleaning Lady, the first Southeast Asian-led broadcast drama, centers on Thony De La Rosa (Yung), a Cambodian-Filipino former surgeon who makes a living as a cleaning service worker alongside her sister-in-law, Fiona (Martha Millan). After witnessing a murder, Thony is offered a job both as a cleaner and a doctor within a criminal organization that could pay well enough to help her son and her family.
Kate Del Castillo, Santiago Cabrera, Sean Lew, Faith Bryant, and Khalen Roman Sanchez also starred in the series, based on an Argentine format, which was developed for American television by Miranda Kwok.

Machine Gun Kelly Explains the Meaning of the Unique Name He and Megan Fox Gave Their Baby

THE RUNDOWN On Friday, Machine Gun Kelly made an appearance on Today, where he opened up about raising his daughter with Megan Fox. The musical artist recently shared the baby's name, Saga Blade, and he explained the meaning behind the words for himself and Fox. In his explanation, MGK seemed to refer to Fox's experiencing pregnancy loss, which she was quite open about before and after revealing she was expecting. 'Her journey, the five years of her culmination of coming, disappearing, coming back again, disappearing, coming back again, she's an epic story and that's what Saga means,' said Kelly. 'I'm also of Norwegian heritage and so that's a Nordic goddess of storytelling and I think she has a storytelling future ahead of her. Megan's a great mom and just killing it and I'm so excited.' In a video posted earlier this week, Kelly can be seen rocking Saga's baby chair while serenading her. The infant can't be seen on camera. In the caption, he wrote, 'Saga Blade Fox-Baker ❤️‍🔥 thank you for the ultimate gift @meganfox.' Fox's poetry book, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous, touched on her miscarriages. In 2023, Fox shared in an interview with WWD that she had an ectopic pregnancy while in a relationship with Kelly, saying, 'I've had other things that I'm not going to say because God forbid the world will be in an uproar. But I've been through other similar issues, but not with someone who I was so in love with.' Fox has three other children with ex-husband Brian Austin Green, Noah, Bodhi, and Journey. MGK shares his teen daughter, Casie, with his former partner, Emma Cannon. Fox and Kelly dated for five years and were engaged before splitting late last year, shortly after announcing they were expecting.

Steelers' Will Howard says learning from Aaron Rodgers is 'invaluable'

There seems to be one thing that everyone knows about Aaron Rodgers – that we know nothing at all. To many in the media, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback is a thorn in their side. To fans, he's the guy that won't walk away from the game even when they think he should. To others, he's just a great quarterback that is one of the best to ever play. Advertisement Despite those differing views, teammates seem to love playing with Rodgers. The New York Jets gushed over the quarterback's presence on HBO's "Hard Knocks" and throughout his two seasons in the Big Apple. Quinnen Williams expressed frustration when the Jets released Rodgers, saying, "another rebuild year for me I guess," in a since deleted post on X. Williams' misfortune is to Will Howard's benefit, however. The rookie quarterback spoke glowingly about Rodgers' presence at Steelers mandatory minicamp in an interview with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Brian Batko. "He's been so awesome to me so far,' Howard said. "Obviously we've only gotten to be together for about three days, but I got a really good feeling about him and about this whole QB room. I think we already in this past week meshed really well, hit it off. I think we got a good vibe, good group." Howard added that Rodgers has been willing to help him in any way he can – something the 41-year-old had previously done for Jordan Love in Green Bay and Zach Wilson in New York. Advertisement "Aaron has been so willing to help me," Howard said. "He's like, 'Literally, as much or as little as you want me to help you, I'll be there.' He's already given me tips, little things here and there – in the meeting room, on the field, in my drops, different little things. Obviously I can't do the things that he can do mechanically, so I don't want to replicate that too much because that's pretty unique. But, for the most part, everything I can learn from that guy is invaluable. So I'm like, dude, as much as you want to pour into me." While Howard won't win the starting job in training camp, he's eager to soak up as much knowledge as possible from the four-time NFL MVP in what could be his final season. Rodgers kept the league in the dark for most of the offseason, seemingly on the edge between playing or retiring before ultimately signing with the Steelers prior to mandatory minicamp. The quarterback previously noted that he was dealing with some personal things throughout the offseason, leading to his absence from the public eye and an NFL roster. Advertisement It seems things have gotten off to a good start for those inside the building, even if some fans aren't as excited. Regardless, Howard is one that believes Rodgers is a pleasure to have in class. All the NFL news on and off the field. Sign up for USA TODAY's 4th and Monday newsletter.
