All Things Rangers And Playoff Final
1. Athletic Pal Arthur Staple writes that the only Rangers "Untouchables" are Igor Shesterkin, Adam Fox and Breadman Panarin.
2. The Maven gladly would make any one of that trio "Touchable.."

3. Shesterkin has so far displayed no inclination to play up to his ridiculously bloated contract. I'd take low-cost-in-the-Final Stu Skinner over Iggy any day.
4. Blueshirt fans have seen up close and personal how Fox's game has deteriorated. But some sleepy GMs may not and a crafty return could be available.
5. Panarin has passed his peak but he'll attract plenty from a GM who can't spell backchecking.
6. Then again, some NHLers never peak. Exhibit A=Corey Perry; Exhibit B=Brad Marchand.
7. Back to the Toronto Sun's Steve Simmons who wonders why the successful Knicks fire their coach and Non-Playoff Drury still has a job. "Do lousy," writes Simmons, "and get an extension."

8. With the stirring Cup Final Round tied at one win apiece, there's an easy way to figure the winner of Game Three. FLIP A COIN!
9. One way for the Oilers to keep Connor McDavid in Edmonton would be to put him on the ballot for Canadian Prime Minister.
10. The only Ranger whose play is evenly remotely – I said "remotely" – like Brad Marchand's is Will Cuylle.

Blackhawks acquire Andre Burakovsky from Kraken in exchange for fellow forward Joe Veleno
CHICAGO — The Chicago Blackhawks acquired Andre Burakovsky from the Seattle Kraken on Saturday in exchange for fellow forward Joe Veleno. Chicago also placed defenseman T.J. Brodie on unconditional waivers for purposes of buying out his contract. Burakovsky, 30, had 10 goals and 27 assists in 79 games with Seattle last season. A Stanley Cup champion with Washington in 2018 and Colorado in 2022, he has 153 goals and 234 assists in 696 regular-season games over 11 NHL seasons. The acquisition of Burakovsky gives Chicago some additional size and scoring, and the trade creates more flexibility for Seattle with the salary cap. The 6-foot-3 Burakovsky was selected by Washington with the No. 23 pick in the 2013 draft. He signed a five-year, $27.5 million contract with Seattle in July 2022. Veleno, 25, was traded from Detroit to Chicago in March. He finished with eight goals and nine assists in 74 games last season. The 6-1 Veleno has 38 goals and 43 assists in 306 career regular-season games. He has a cap hit of $2.275 million for next season in the final year of his contract. Brodie, 35, agreed to a $7.5 million, two-year contract with Chicago last summer. He had two goals and eight assists in 54 games last season. ___ AP NHL:

Could Mitch Marner Wind Up With The Rangers?
We all know that the Rangers need help and we all know that Mitch Marner will bolt Toronto as a free agent faster than you can say money talks or pennies from Heaven. (Well, he's not gonna be THAT free.) And since one and one make three in some hockey agents' offices, how about Mitch Marner bolting for MSG. He'd look good in a blue shirt. Advertisement With that in mind, I contacted my crack Toronto Maple Leafs reporter Mark Nussbaum for his insights re Marner in Manhattan. "There's going to be a lineup for Mitch's services on July first," says Nussbaum. "On paper, the Rangers could use him. He's a premier two-way forward and a top-notch playmaker. He could fit well in New York – BUT. "The Rangers' problem is Cap Space of which they have $15 million and Marner is looking for a contract north of $14 million. Chris Drury will have to pass on Mitch because his team has so many other holes to fill and will need money to fill them." And so ends the Mitch Marner as Ranger Saga. (Memo to all Rangers Faithful: You are allowed to dream about Marner as a New Yorker, but it will turn into a nightmare!
