She opened up about her mental health struggles as she was announced as the newest celebrity ambassador for the mental health charity Mind.
Perrie who has been very honest about her battle with anxiety and panic attacks, has shed light on how she's learning to cope - including having her therapist on hand to help her face the symptoms in the moment.
The former X Factor winner – who's previously spoken about struggling with agoraphobia and blurred vision and breathlessness during a panic attack – said her biggest breakthrough came when she stopped trying to fight the feelings and started facing them in real time.
She told Metro: 'Last year, maybe in September, I started to take my therapist to work with me, which I know is a very privileged situation.
'I understand that not many people even have a therapist. So I thought, I'm going to make the most of it.
'I'm going to take her to work with me every day, and when I'm having the panic attack, she's going to coach me through it there and then.'
She admitted: 'It's the best thing I've ever done. And I wish I did it sooner, to be honest.'

Despite previously trying 'all different kinds' of therapy, Perrie confessed that the panic still hit her hard when it came out of nowhere and everything she'd been taught just 'went out the window.'
The BRIT Award-winning star is on a mission to help break the stigma around anxiety and wants to encourage others to get the support they need.
As part of her new role with Mind, she's pushing for more access to mental health resources for everyone. not just those with the means to have support on speed dial.
She added: 'I'm just trying to be at peace with my anxiety. If I can help even one person feel less alone, it's worth it.'
It comes after the singer has admitted she fears she 'might die' as she opened up about her ongoing battle with panic disorders when she appeared on Alison Hammond 's Big Weekend.
Perrie invited the presenter into her home and spoke openly about how anxiety has affected her everyday life.
'I've developed panic disorder' she said.
'So it's the fear of having a panic attack. A few years ago, I started suffering from severe panic attacks.
'I then developed a fear of having one again because I was like, if I'm on my own and have a panic attack, I might die, and nobody will be here to help.'
She candidly added: 'That's why I'm never on my own. Never. I'm always with somebody. I don't like the feeling of feeling like I'm gonna die.'
Elsewhere in the interview, Perrie revealed she wants to expand her family after welcoming a son Axel in 2021 with her partner Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Chatting about how Axel sleeps in her bed when Alex is away for work, Alison asked: 'Are you going to have another one?'
To which Perrie replied: 'I'd love more. I've always wanted four but I know that's a bit excessive now because I know that we can't get in a car.'
'You just get a bigger car, don't you?' Alison responded.
Perrie replied: 'I don't want to. I had a dream the other night that I was pregnant.'
'Should we go and get a pregnancy test?' Alison joked, to which Perrie said: 'Could you imagine.'

Just the other day I had to cancel going to a spot because my mental health was so bad," he said."It was run by people who I have come to see as good friends and that's what led me to make the decision so late, because I really did not want to let them down, but it got to a point on that day where I felt like I just really could not do it."It would have made me even more erratic on stage. I felt it would have let everyone else down and made my mental health worse."Even just taking the plunge and putting myself forward for things takes a bit of getting over because the anxiety is also a bit of a barrier there." Scott Wolf's estranged wife Kelley claims she's 'trying to locate' their kids following her shocking arrest
Kelley Wolf, the estranged wife of Scott Wolf, has returned to Instagram following her arrest and hospitalization. Kelley made several surprising allegations amid her ongoing divorce from the Party of Five star, 57. 'There's only one thing I want right now: Peace,' Kelley, 48, wrote on Instagram on June 20. 'I'm currently in my car, parked at my home. I am not in a hospital. I was discharged with zero substances in my system, no diagnosis [and] no family history of mental illness.' Kelley claimed she was forcibly detained by local Utah law enforcement officials earlier this month and then taken to a hospital. 'I was handcuffed, bruised, and offered strong medications like lithium and Seroquel —against my will,' she alleged on Friday. 'Let that sink in.' Scott has not commented on his estranged wife's arrest or hospitalization. He was spotted with the children he shares with Kelley – Jackson, 16, Miller, 12; and Lucy, 11, at an airport. 'On the road with my forever squad,' Scott wrote on a photo of his kids on an escalator in an airport on his Instagram Stories on Friday. The post also featured Rusted Root's 'Send Me On My Way' playing in the background. Scott and Kelley were married for 21 years before he filed for divorce last month. has not received a response to its request for comment from Scott Wolf. Kelley wrote that Scott 'filed for divorce this past week, even though I've been trying to file for a legal separation for 9 LONG months, appears to have taken our three children to Boston. 'Without informing me. I'm currently trying to locate them so I can meet them there. I've barely seen my kids,' she heartbreakingly wrote. Kelley continued: 'Getting divorced is hard enough without the public weighing in on my every move. Enough is enough. 'If you're a real friend — or even someone who's known me for a while — You probably have my number. … I'm consistent. I'm a good friend. If you know, you know.' She added, 'Unless I've worked with you for many years or you're already a paid partnership OR a true friend, I would kindly request you stop viewing my IG.' Her post continued, bizarrely blaming Billy Bush, writing, 'And yes—Billy Bush has been going on television claiming he spoke to me while I was in the hospital.' 'That's simply not true. He did not speak to me. Billy, please stop.' And then she went back to blaming Billy Bush, 'And to a certain someone whose name ends in 'Y'… 'It's time to stand down, sir. You're the godfather to my son Miller. We've been friends for over 20 years. Please stop speaking publicly in ways that feel cruel,' she wrote. 'And maybe—just maybe—it's time for you to take care of yourself, too.' On June 13, a friend of Kelley's called 911 to ask them to send a team of mental health professionals to the Sundance Resort where Kelley had been living since she and Scott split. Describing the author and public speaker as 'very skittish' and 'very anti getting help,' the caller noted that she thought 'a team needs to go and insist that she get help.' 'I do not think she will cooperate,' the friend added. 'I mean we've been trying to get her to get some help for weeks to months.' Later Kelley shared a photo to her Instagram Stories over which she had written: 'I have been taken against my will. Please check on my kids. Also… I am happy!! Happier than I have ever been.'

And sharing an album of fun snaps to Instagram on Friday, the star looked smitten as they acted playful with one anther while at the dinner table with their son Axel, three. In the pictures Perrie, looked incredible in an emerald halterneck dress which featured a ruched design around the chest. In other snaps, the couple continued to put on a romantic display as Perrie was seen laughing the day away in the sun. Alongside her holiday snaps, she penned: 'Holibobs'. Her trip comes after how she told Alex that she loved him for the first time early in their romance. Appearing on the Capital Evening show with Jimmy Hill, the former Little Mix star revealed how she stumbled over the romantic admission. She said: 'In my real life I can never say exactly what I mean... but I feel like in my music it's different. 'I remember the first time I told Alex I loved him, I was on a night out with the [Little Mix] girls and they were gearing me up - and for some reason I had a pan, right? 'I had a frying pan because Alex told me he liked pancakes so I went out of my way to buy a pan, but we had promo. 'So I'm on a night out, with a frickin' frying pan thinking, 'I'm gonna make his dreams come true, I'm gonna make him pancakes in the morning.' The singer went on: 'I remember saying to the girls, 'I think I love him... but I think he loves me too' and the girls were like, "Then just tell him". 'They geared me up within an inch of life and I was raring to go.' But when it came to the big moment, the singer admitted that she was 'speechless'. She continued: 'I couldn't find the words, I couldn't articulate myself, I was like panicking... my heartbeat was in my head. And I just went, "I think I'm falling in love with you", so aggressively.' After managing to get her words out, she revealed that Alex said he was in love with her too. Perrie released her new single titled You Go Your Way last year. The pair, who now share three-year-old son Axel, matched on celebrity dating app Raya in November 2014 but went on only a couple of dates before Perrie had to embark on a three-month US tour with Little Mix and Ariana Grande. Due to go away on tour for several months, and worried about putting pressure on a very new relationship, Perrie suggested to her now fiancé that they should pause their budding romance and go their separate ways. The song sums up the moment in a relationship where you need to be prepared to let someone go and live their life in the hope that the will one day return. She explained: 'I told Alex, you go your way and I'll go mine and if it's meant to be we'll find each other again when I am back. 'He wasn't happy this idea and made our relationship official there and then! Fast forward eight years and we are very happy, engaged and have our beautiful son. 'I truly believe if you love something, set it free. If it comes back, it's yours. If not it was never meant to be.'
