Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy put the city police, Traffic, HYDRA and GHMC wings on alert to prevent traffic and other problems during heavy rains in Hyderabad.
The Chief Minister also ordered the officials of the four departments to work in coordination and press the emergency wing teams into the service, ensuring they are available round the clock to tackle the situation in the rain hit areas. He inquired about the progress of the water harvesting well works taken up at the identified 141 water logging points in Hyderabad and suggested to take adequate measures to pump out rainwater which enters the harvesting wells by using automatic pumps.
The officials were instructed to take immediate preventive measures as per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast in the state. A new system should also be developed at the Command Control Centre to monitor the intensity of rains and floods regularly.
Expediting the completion of pending drainage and desilting works, identification of the problematic areas and preventive measures was also discussed in the meeting. The CM instructed the officials to prepare plans in advance and pay special attention to prevent floods and submergence in the Core Urban Region located inside the Outer Ring Road.
In view of the fast development of the Core Urban Region, CM Revanth Reddy suggested a special policy for the expansion and development of tanks, canals, and roads within the region.

In a drive to uplift the poor, Minister Venkataswamy distributed sanction documents for Indiramma houses and confirmed plans for skill development programmes employing advanced technology in Siddipet. He acknowledged public scepticism regarding the Congress government's ability to fulfil its promises but pledged that the government would uphold its commitments. Highlighting other welfare initiatives, he detailed the assistance for women, including gas cylinders for Rs. 500 and free bus services. He mentioned the comprehensive loan waiver of Rs. 23,000 crores for farmers, a record in India, as well as the release of Rs. 10,000 crores for farmer insurance by CM Revanth Reddy. Furthermore, the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme now offers up to Rs. 10 lakhs in health coverage, and farmers growing sorghum are receiving a bonus of Rs. 500. Additionally, Venkataswamy revealed that sorghum is being distributed to the needy through ration cards. The government is dedicated to constructing homes for every poor individual on plots of 600 yards. He stressed the importance of beneficiary participation in ensuring adequate construction of the houses, reiterating the strict implementation of the Indiramma scheme. Earlier, he had also distributed sanction documents to beneficiaries of Indiramma Indla in Gajwel, where a budget has been allocated for 3,000 double-bedroom houses. In his address, he reiterated the government's commitment to education, healthcare, housing, and farmer welfare.

HYDERABAD: The government of Telangana and Tony Blair Institute of Global Change (TBIGC) on Thursday exchanged a letter of intent for partnering in Telangana Rising vision development and its implementation. The letter was exchanged in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and TBIGC founder and former UK prime minister Tony Blair in Delhi. During his meeting with Blair, the chief minister highlighted the key aspects of Telangana Rising vision, including rapid growth from a state GDP of $200 billion to $1 trillion by 2035, and a further threefold increase to $3 trillion by 2047. 'This would be achieved through a plethora of unique strategic and tactical policy interventions, including zoning the state — inside ORR (core urban area, services only), and between ORR and Regional Ring Road area for China+1 manufacturing zone — rapid massive infra projects, including the Regional Ring Road and Regional Ring Railway, radial roads between RRR and ORR, a dry port, dedicated connectivity between dry port to a sea port in AP, Metro rail expansion in Hyderabad, new airports in Warangal and Adilabad, River Musi Rejuvenation, Bharat Future City (India's most future-ready and planned city), among others,' the CM explained. Vision 2047 The chief minister also spoke in detail about key elements of 'Telangana Rising 2047', which would be unveiled publicly on December 9, 2025, marking the Congress government's second anniversary in office.
