How to get free parking in Dubai Mall
Free parking used to be one of Dubai Mall's most-loved perks — right up there with the dancing fountains (which are currently getting a summer glow-up) and late-night Zara runs.
But times have changed.
Last summer, Dubai Mall introduced a paid parking system that started on Monday July 1, 2024.
This means that fee collection will be done automatically using vehicle plate recognition when your car enters and exits the building.
No need to panic, though. If you've been wondering how to dodge unexpected charges on your next shopping spree, we've got you covered.
Parking will be free for the first four hours on weekdays and six hours on weekends; after that, your Salik account will automatically be charged.
Fees apply only to Grand Parking, Cinema Parking and Fashion Parking, and they are as follows.
Monday to Thursday
4-5 hours: Dhs40
5-6 hours: Dhs60
6-7 hours: Dhs80
8-12 hours: Dhs100
12-24 hours: Dhs500
24 hours+: Dhs1,000
Friday to Sunday
6-7 hours: Dhs80
7-8 hours: Dhs100
8-12 hours: Dhs200
12-24 hours: Dhs500
24 hours+: Dhs1,000
Okay, how can I actually get free parking in Dubai Mall all day long?
If you want to spend the whole day at Dubai Mall without worrying about parking fees, you can park at either Zabeel or Fountain Views parking.
The Dubai Mall Zabeel is an extension of the mall and offers 3,000 parking spaces that won't cost you a thing to park at.
It has easy access from Al Khail Road, and the parking spaces are spread across seven levels, plus there are plenty of valet parking opportunities.

And the best part is that it's connected to The Dubai Mall via a link bridge that takes two minutes to cross. You'll find yourself nearest to the Grand Parking area.
It's important to know that Dubai Mall Zabeel is a mall in its own right and is home to EKart Zabeel, a huge gym, a supermarket, extensive art on the walls, a bunch of restaurants and a host of new retail and lifestyle experiences.
You can also get free parking all day long at the Fountain Views parking located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard across the road from Dubai Mall's China Town.
This parking is accessible via Al Asayel Street, behind the boulevard.

Fountain Views is a licensed area home to a list of top-notch restaurants and hotels. There is also a licensed cinema, CinemaCity, a supermarket, cafés and much more.
Once you park in Fountain Views, you can easily access the Dubai Mall by crossing a bridge or crossing the road into the China Town extension.

A car park at Dubai Mall has officially closed — here's what to know
One of the world's biggest malls has announced that a major parking area has now closed. As of Monday June 16, Grand Parking P1 and P2 at Dubai Mall have temporarily closed as part of the mall's ongoing expansion plans. With 694 parking slots, Grand Parking is the smallest of four car parks at the world's busiest mall. The car park, which can be found on the Financial Street side of Dubai Mall, has closed ahead of the opening of New Grand Drive in August. Fashion Parking, Cinema Parking and Zabeel Parking remain open, and shoppers are encouraged to park there instead. Earlier, Dubai Mall had also revealed that several internal roads and access points have been closed or redirected as part of the expansion plans. If your route includes the Lower Financial Exit Ramp or the Upper Financial Exit Ramp then you'll now need to find an alternative way of getting there. Anyone who uses Grand Drive Valet services will also need to keep this in mind when visiting the mall. Traffic for these access routes will be rerouted via Grand Drive and Cinema P3 during the closure. Visitors are encouraged to follow signage in place and to allow extra travel time. Last year, Dubai Mall introduced paid parking for the first time. A ticketless parking system using vehicle plate recognition now deducts fees from Salik accounts of drivers.
