Meta Quest 3's Limits Will Be Tested By Civilization VII's VR Port
The release date for the VR port of Civilisation VII for Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S has been revealed, while a new gameplay trailer shows quite what an ambitious project this is.
Civilization VII for the Meta Quest headsets will be out on April 10, and will cost $59.99. That's $10 less than the current Steam price for the PC version. It's available to pre-order now.
The gameplay trailer depicts exactly how you'll play what is a fairly involved and traditional strategy game within a VR headset.
Instead of depicting the game world as a fully immersive space within the VR environment, the terrain appears on a Command Table at the center of the play space.
Publisher 2K Games describes it as a 'virtual and mixed reality' experience because you'll be able to switch between having your real surroundings as the backdrop or a rendered environment.
This likely helps keep a lid on the amount of complex game visuals that need to be rendered at any one time.
Civilization VII will be the first in this 34-year-old series to get a VR edition, and it will make an interesting test case for the genre's compatibility with the format.
All current indications suggest the Meta Quest 3 version of Civilization VII will be a fully fleshed-out experience not dissimilar to that of the PC and console versions.
But a major part of the appeal of the series is its engrossing 'just one more go' moreish-ness, that often sees players staying up into the small hours. This is obviously not the way most Meta Quest 3 owners play, with the factors of battery life, comfort and the way VR appetites for gaming tends to lean towards shorter play sessions considered.

The game be played solo, or with up to three other Meta Quest players — you won't be able to play with those on console or PC.
This VR port of Civilisation VII is developed by Australia's Playside Studios, which has worked on Meta's own Horizon Worlds, The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners, as well as its own published Meta Quest titles Shattered and Dumb Ways: Free For All.
Civilization VII's VR version will be available from 8am PDT on April 10, and is only available for the two Meta Quest headsets.

How a 'brag doc' can help you ace interviews and land a job, says recruiter: ‘No one's reading cover letters'
One of the best pieces of advice Maddie Machado received from a former boss at Microsoft was to keep track of all her career wins. Machado would log "anytime I did a good job, anytime I made someone's life easier, anytime I got kudos" first in a Microsoft document, then a running email draft and now in a slide presentation. She calls it a "brag doc" and says she's used it in every interview for the last 10 years. Machado, 35, is a reverse recruiter and founder of SkillScript, a resume platform, in Tampa, Fla. The concept of documenting your career wins isn't new, but her method categorizes four specific aspects of your professional success: Machado says having a brag doc on hand can help you network and could make a bigger impact than a traditional resume or cover letter. "No one's reading cover letters," Machado says. "Even when I was a recruiter for so many years, I can count on maybe one hand how many times I actually read a cover letter." A brag doc, meanwhile, is "a time for you to toot your own horn," Machado says. "It's hard to see on your resume the amount of impact and the things that you actually owned and are actually proud of." It also shows off the most important aspects of a candidate a hiring manager wants to know, Machado says, based on her time working with hiring managers at companies like Meta and LinkedIn. Hiring managers will generally already know what you do day-to-day in your role, Machado says, but are looking for what you'll bring to a new company and things that will make them think, "Wow, look at what she did there. Imagine what she could do here," she says. "And that's what your brag doc is doing." A brag doc is a useful resource to attach to your application, to follow up with a hiring manager on LinkedIn after you've applied for a role, or even to cold-message someone to network, Machado says. It won't necessarily get you the job right away, but it could get you in the hiring pipeline that much faster. Then, use it to prepare for interviews and negotiate a strong offer, Machado says. "It's nice to be able to remind yourself what you've accomplished so far, whether it's big or small, and also be able to share with other people," she says.

Thousands of kids take part in T.D. Jakes Foundation STEAM Expo
Thousands of children and families gathered Saturday at the Shops at RedBird for the T.D. Jakes Foundation's second annual STEAM Expo, a hands-on event designed to spark curiosity and creativity in science, technology, engineering, arts and math. Hands-on learning inspires young minds Excited lines of kids and parents streamed into the venue, where they explored interactive booths, live demonstrations and family-friendly activities. Topics ranged from human anatomy and artificial intelligence to sports medicine and forestry. Five-year-old Leondri Stiggle was especially enthusiastic about the science experiments. "It feels hot, so hot! We made lotion, and it feels like it's juice," she said. Her father, Leon Stiggle, said he wished he had access to similar opportunities as a child. "When you start early, it always evolves into something better," he said. "It's good they have this program — shout out to T.D. Jakes. Appreciate it!" Juneteenth education adds cultural depth The event also featured educational exhibits on Juneteenth, including live actors portraying historical figures such as Fort Worth's Dr. Opal Lee, known as the "grandmother of Juneteenth." The Southwest Dallas County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. sponsored the exhibit. "We also have other living exhibits where you can learn about the Emancipation Proclamation and educational development," said chapter president Maiya Bangurah. Building a future-ready workforce Kelley Cornish, president of the T.D. Jakes Foundation, said the expo marked the nonprofit's 10th pop-up event in two years. "People don't realize what an incredible field this is," Cornish said. "We've learned that 2.4 million jobs go unfilled every year because there's no pipeline. We're starting early. Exposure to these careers can literally change a family's dynamic." The foundation's next event is scheduled for the fall.

AI Job Search Tools: Cut Job Hunting Time from 10 Hours to 10 Minutes
In the digital age, job seekers no longer have to spend 10 hours trawling countless job boards hoping to hit the jackpot. Thanks to AI job search tools, that exhaustive quest can now be transformed into a sharp, 10‑minute, high-impact pursuit. With automation, intelligence, and speed at their fingertips, job hunters can accelerate from application to interview without sacrificing quality. This article explores the game-changing benefits of AI-powered job search platforms—from searching all job sites at once to generating AI resumes, leveraging automated job application tracking, and deploying AI cover letter generator tools. It also highlights how you can use an AI career assistant to compare job salaries by role and location, ensuring those offers are not just fast—but also financially sound. Job-search fatigue is real. Sifting through portals like Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Monster, and niche sites, then tailoring resumes and cover letters manually—it's a recipe for burnout. Often, duplicate listings clog your inbox, and critical openings slip through unnoticed due to misalignment on timing or expectations. Without automation, applicants juggle overwhelming logistics: tracking each application's details and status, remembering follow‑ups, and juggling interview schedules. It's stressful. It's inefficient. And it's no longer necessary. AI's transformative power lies in its ability to learn from your profile—skills, experience, and preferences—and deliver results in minutes, not hours. That's how you can search all job sites at once, skip redundant steps with automated job application tracking, and let intelligent engines craft tailored AI resumes, AI cover letters, and more. Platforms like JobLogr combine real-time job scraping, compatibility scoring, document optimization, and data-driven alerts—saving you from hopping between tabs and forms. AI seamlessly compresses tasks like resume analysis, job filtering, application submission, and interview prep. The first pillar of accelerated job hunting: aggregating opportunities across platforms in one go. With AI, you enter your role, location, and preferences once, and the technology fetches matches from dozens of sources—LinkedIn, Monster, ZipRecruiter, niche boards, even hidden gems. Duplicate detection removes clutter. Scoring systems rank matches based on how well each aligns with your keywords, experience, and goals. Instead of scanning hundreds of listings, you review the top few dozen that actually matter. Better yet: this groundwork happens upfront—behind the scenes—so you spend your precious minutes applying to truly relevant roles only. ATS filters screen out as many as 75% of candidates—even if they're qualified—due to keyword mismatches, formatting issues, or generic phrasing. AI resumes change that. By analyzing target job descriptions and top-performing resumes in the field, AI tools suggest and insert role-specific keywords, rearrange bullet points for clarity, highlight accomplishments with quantifiable data, and flag red flags or formatting pitfalls. Tools like JobLogr offer ATS-optimized resume scoring and rewriting. JobJenny, a seasoned career coach, recommends it as a 'seriously impressive' system to 'beat the ATS' and save time by auto-formatting your resume. Generic cover letters feel stale. Writing a fresh one for every submission is exhausting, and is often skipped. Enter the AI cover letter generator. These hammer out personalized, compelling letters by drawing insights from your resume and the job's target description. They highlight your fit, echo employer language, and flow naturally—all in under two minutes. And they include vital keywords, boosting your odds of passing both ATS and human screenings. Platform testimonials praise 'priceless' time saved generating tailored cover letters at scale. Manual tracking equals chaos. Sheets with application dates, responses, deadlines, and reminders, then digging through emails to find recruiter details. It's too much. Instead, smart automated job application tracking platforms synchronize application info in real time: job title, company, date applied, status (e.g., pending, interview, offer), reminders for follow-up, and more—all in one clean dashboard. JobLogr offers such tracking by pulling data from your email, meaning no spreadsheets and no clutter—just clarity and control. What if you had a 24/7 AI career assistant acting as coach, strategist, and financial advisor? That's the power today's tools deliver. With your background on file, the AI analyses: Skill gaps and certifications needed Interview best practices (mock interviews plus feedback) Career path suggestions Real-time job market trends and demands Importantly, you can compare job salaries by role and location, critical for salary negotiation and career planning. Platforms like JobLogr, integrated with benchmarking tools, give—you guessed it—a free salary benchmarking tool. Just upload your resume, and within minutes, you see salary ranges, percentile rankings, industry comparisons, and negotiation tips. Knowing your market value is crucial. AI salary tools compile data from publicly available sources, crowdsourced insights, employer reports, and government databases to deliver accurate salary ranges based on: Job role Location Industry Experience level This gives you confidence in asking for fair compensation, especially when switching to roles in new markets or sectors. And since the tool is free and privacy-first, your details don't get used for marketing—only for generating your report. AI supercharges smart alerts. Unlike generic notifications that flood your inbox, AI job search systems send tailored, timely signals based on how well each new role matches your profile. JobLogr's blog explains how to set up real-time job alerts to apply within 24‑48 hours—an essential edge since early applicants often get noticed first. With AI, you don't click around websites; the matches come to you. Getting the interview means everything. Cracking it requires preparation: tailored responses, confident delivery, and behavior-based examples. AI helps here, too. Some platforms simulate mock interviews and provide feedback on your answers, tone, pacing, clarity, face, and voice included. By comparing yours to successful benchmarks, they boost your readiness and confidence in days, not weeks. AI can consolidate resume tailoring, cover letter generation, and data entry into one streamlined process. Many platforms allow you to review your documents, press 'Apply,' and they handle the rest—filling forms, uploading files, and logging the application in the system. You can apply to 10–15 roles in the time it usually takes to apply to two, and retention of quality appeals isn't compromised. The job market changes fast. AI tools track millions of listings to identify emerging trends—hot roles, shrinking fields, rising skill demand, and shifting compensation. This helps you pivot strategies, upskill proactively, and position yourself for the sectors ready to hire. With this data, you're not just applying—you're adapting and evolving. Not every position that looks good is good. AI platforms evaluate job compatibility based on resume‑job match, role requirements, commute, company culture, and more. JobLogr's compatibility scoring, for example, delivers high accuracy and identifies more qualified fits. That means you focus your applications on roles with real potential instead of shooting blind. AI lifts the tedium of job searches—no more repetitive tasks, no more lost correspondence, no more fear of missing openings. You spend your 10 minutes not on form-filling or keyword hunting, but on thoughtful strategy: networking messages, tailored applications, confident interviews. Emotionally and mentally, that balance makes the process sustainable, faster, and more powerful. Let's highlight how the pieces fit: JobLogr offers a free tier that covers most of the basics and a $20/month premium tier that unlocks full resume and letter analysis, as well as interview prep. Try it free for 7 days—a small investment for big-time returns. If you're tired of cobbling together tools and spreadsheets, this all-in-one platform acts as a comprehensive job search solution, helping you go from search to signed offer with far less stress.
