MAGA News Anchors Host a Pity Party for the Trump-Musk Split
Republican-aligned news anchors held a wake for Donald Trump and Elon Musk's bromance on Thursday.
As the two billionaires feuded over the 'big, beautiful bill' and Trump's associations with Jeffrey Epstein, thoughts and prayers on MAGA networks went out—to both of them.
Will Cain was the first Fox News host to cover Musk's tantalizing accusation on Thursday that Trump is named in the government's files on the pedophile, which Musk claimed is the reason why Attorney General Pam Bondi has not released the documents.
The bombshell came after the two traded barbs throughout Thursday over the spending package, which Musk opposes. Trump suggested earlier on Thursday that Musk may suffer from 'Trump derangement syndrome' and that Musk had gone 'CRAZY!'
Cain said on The Will Cain Show that the saga was 'not a story that we wanted today for America.'
'Seems a rubicon that Elon Musk has crossed that it appears it's hard to see a path forward for these two to repair their relationship,' Cain said. 'This is not a story that anyone was looking for—perhaps somewhat predictable with two big personalities—but not a story that we wanted today for America."
The sadness continued on The Five, where panelists Greg Gutfeld and Kayleigh McEnany lamented the breakdown. Gutfeld said the feud was a 'battle between the purists and the pragmatists.'
'I don't like it,' Gutfeld said. 'I want it to stop. I want to tell them, if they are both watching: Knock it off. We're done with this.'
McEnany also took issue with Musk's claim that, if he had not donated more than $300 million to help support Trump, Trump would have lost the election. 'President Trump won all of the swing states, he is the first person in the Republican Party to win the popular vote in 20 years,' McEnany said, touting his electoral accomplishments. 'No amount of money bought that. What bought that was a movement.'
'I think it's a sad thing to see,' she added. 'I don't want to see the adults fighting, but I do think this was predictable.'
The schism between the U.S. president and the world's richest man rippled among Republicans on Thursday, with many of its media personalities figuring out how to balance Musk's financial contributions to the party with their overwhelming support of Trump.
Podcast host Megyn Kelly told fellow conservative podcaster Stu Burguiere before the Epstein accusation on Thursday that she hoped Musk would eventually come around to the 'big, beautiful bill.' Musk has derided the mega bill as a 'disgusting abomination.'
'It's so much better for America, I think, to have Elon on board with the Trump agenda,' Kelly said on Thursday's episode of The Megyn Kelly Show. 'It does not serve us at all to have him supporting Democrats.'
But Kelly conceded that Trump likely won't let Musk's claim that his support won Trump the election go. 'There's zero chance Trump's going to let 'you would have lost the election without me' lie,' Kelly said.
'It's about to get ugly,' she added.
Trump has not responded to the Epstein accusation, but he tried to brush off the friendship on Truth Social while advocating for the spending package, which the Senate is reviewing.
'I don't mind Elon turning against me, but he should have done so months ago,' Trump wrote.

Israel, Iran trade strikes as Trump weighs US military involvement
Israel and Iran traded strikes on Friday as President Trump weighs the possibility of U.S. involvement and European officials seek to revive nuclear negotiations with Tehran. Israel said it hit 60 Iranian aircrafts early Friday morning along with the headquarters of the Organization of Defensive Innovation and Research, which carries out nuclear weapons research, according to the Associated Press. Iranian media said Israel's strikes also hit the city of Rasht on the Caspian Sea early Friday. Reuters reported that at least one Iranian missile struck Beersheba, Israel's largest southern city, early Friday, ripping off the facade of at least one apartment complex and leaving a crater in a residential area. CNN reported it struck close to a tech park that houses a Microsoft office. Iran also struck near civilian sites in Haifa, injuring more than a dozen people and sending residents running for cover in a shopping mall, CNN reported. That followed an Iranian strike on Thursday that struck a hospital in Beersheba, wounding at least 80 patients and medical workers, according to Israeli officials. Israel's defense chief accused Iran of war crimes and said Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would be held accountable for the attack. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched overnight bombings in the heart of Tehran, along with the cities of Tabriz and Kermanshah, hitting 'missile storage and launch infrastructure components,' according to the AP. 'We are strengthening our air control in the region and advancing our air offensive,' Israeli military spokesperson Brig. Gen. Effie Defrin told reporters, according to the AP. 'We have more sites to strike in Tehran, western Iran and other places.' Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, Trump's special envoy to the Middle East, met with Britain's foreign secretary on Thursday to discuss diplomatic efforts to end the conflict. Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is slated to meet with European leaders in Geneva to discuss a new nuclear deal. Iran earlier this month rejected U.S. proposals to effectively end its nuclear program, and move enrichment facilities outside the country. The White House on Thursday released a statement from President Trump saying he would decide within two weeks on whether to join Israel's war. Israel is pressuring the U.S. to deploy it's 'bunker buster' bombs on Iran's Fordo uranium enrichment facility, which is key to its nuclear program and buried deep inside a mountain. While Trump has been publicly non-committal on resuming talks with Tehran, Araghci said Thursday the U.S. is pushing for diplomacy behind the scenes. 'It is the Americans who want talks,' he said, according to AP. 'They've sent messages several times — very serious ones — but we made it explicitly clear to them that as long as this aggression and invasion continue, there is absolutely no room for talk or diplomacy. We are engaged in legitimate self-defense, and this defense will not stop under any circumstances.' Earlier this week, Trump urged civilians to evacuate Tehran immediately, as the U.S. ordered a third U.S. Navy destroyer to the eastern portion of the Mediterranean Sea. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, speaking near the damaged Beersheba hospital, said he trusted that Trump would 'do what's best for America.' 'I can tell you that they're already helping a lot,' he added.

Everything we know about Tesla's robotaxi launch in Austin
Tesla's long-overdue robotaxi is finally hitting the streets this weekend, but the rollout may face some roadblocks. The Elon Musk-led electric vehicle company is expected to roll out robotaxis in Austin, Texas, on June 22, with the first driverless trip from the factory to a customer house expected on his birthday, June 28. Musk shared news of the tentative debut in a post to social media platform X last week. Here's what we know about the Tesla event so far. The launch will include a limited number of Tesla vehicles debuting in Austin on June 22. The initial rides will be in the Model Y and not the CyberCab that was unveiled in October. Access to the vehicles and rides is by invitation only. Some influencers on social media have reported receiving early access invites to test out the new service starting Sunday. The rides will also occur in a geofenced area of the city. Musk has long touted a driverless robotaxi, and the pressure is on the billionaire to deliver on his promises. As early as 2019, Musk said he was "very confident" that robotaxis would launch in 2020. In May, Musk confirmed plans to debut the service in Austin this month, with launches later set for Los Angeles and San Francisco. At the time, Musk said the service would launch with 10 vehicles circulating Austin. "It's prudent for us to start with a small number, confirm that things are going well and then scale it up," he told CNBC's David Faber. Wall Street analysts such as Wedbush's Dan Ives believe robotaxis will usher in the "golden era of autonomous for Tesla" that could power its market capitalization to more than $2 trillion by the end of next year. That's about double its market value from Wednesday's close. "There will be many setbacks ... but given its unmatched scale and scope globally we believe Tesla has the opportunity to own the autonomous market and down the road license its technology to other auto players both in the U.S. and around the globe," he wrote in a note. Tesla faces a bumpy road ahead, littered with federal regulatory hurdles and pushback from lawmakers. On Wednesday, a group of Democratic lawmakers in Texas called on Tesla to push off its robotaxi launch until Sept. 1, when Texas rolls out a new slate of self-driving laws. "We believe this is in the best interest of both public safety and building public transit operation," the group said in a letter addressed to Tesla's field quality director Eddie Gates. They also asked for "detailed information demonstrating that Tesla will be compliant with the new law" if it goes ahead with the launch. Public safety advocates protested the launch in Austin earlier this month. A group known as The Dawn Project, a tech safety organization that is critical of Tesla's autonomous capabilities, demonstrated a Tesla Model Y with currently available "Full Self Driving" software running past a stopped school bus and hitting a child-sized mannequin. The group said it was a situation where the software misread the elements in the road. Dawn Project founder Dan O'Dowd also runs Green Hills Software, a company that sells technology to Tesla competitors. Tesla's FSD capabilities, which feature a standard FSD or FSD supervised, include automatic steering and parking, but have been connected to accidents and fatalities, according to data tracked by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

5 Consumer Staples Stocks to Buy as Fed Keeps Interest Rates Unchanged
Geopolitical tensions, a delay in the interest rate cut and uncertainty over the impact of President Donald Trump's tariffs have again made markets volatile. Although consumer confidence rebounded slightly in May after Trump temporarily paused the tariffs, investors remain concerned about the economy's health. Given the uncertainty, it would be ideal to invest in safe-haven defensive stocks from the consumer staples sector such as Philip Morris International Inc. PM, Nomad Foods Limited( NOMD), Altria Group, Inc. MO, The Coca-Cola Company KO and Ingredion Incorporated INGR. Each of these stocks carries a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy) or 2 (Buy). You can see the complete list of today's Zacks #1 Rank stocks here. Also, these stocks are from the low-beta category (beta greater than 0 but less than 1). Hence, the recommended approach is to invest in low-beta stocks with a high dividend yield and a favorable Zacks Rank. The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged at the end of its June FOMC meeting in the current range of 4.25% to 4.5%. The move was highly expected as Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell reiterated his earlier comments that the central bank will wait and watch the impact of Trump's tariffs on inflation before deciding on resuming rate cuts. Policymakers also lowered their 2025 economic growth forecast to just 1.4% and increased their core inflation outlook to 3.1%. Understandably, the uncertainty over the impact of tariffs has raised concerns among market participants about the economy's future. Although the United States has reached a trade deal with its biggest trading partner, China, it is yet to be seen how the new tariffs will impact the economy. Meanwhile, ongoing geopolitical tensions between Iran and Israel have also raised fears of a full-fledged war. Israel launched missile strikes on Iran last week, targeting its nuclear sites and reportedly eliminating several top scientists. Iran retaliated with a barrage of missile strikes on Israel over the weekend. Although the United States is yet to get directly involved in the conflict, tensions have been escalating, with Trump weighing in on striking Iran. The United States has also been mobilizing its warships and bombers in the Middle East. Washington's involvement in the conflict could further escalate tension. This could keep markets volatile for a longer period. Philip Morris International Inc. is progressing well with its business transformation in the face of consumers' rising health consciousness and stern regulations to dissuade smoking. To this end, PM has been expanding its reduced risk products (RRPs) or smoke-free products category, as evident from the success of IQOS (a heating tobacco device) that counts among one of the leading RRPs in the industry. PM currently carries a Zacks Rank #2. Philip Morris International has a beta of 0.52 and a current dividend yield of 2.96%. Nomad Foods Limited manufactures and distributes frozen foods primarily in the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Sweden, France and Norway. NOMD presently sports a Zacks Rank #1. Nomad Foods has a beta of 0.75 and a current dividend yield of 3.96%. Altria Group, been evolving with the changing industry dynamics. Given the rising health consciousness and stern government regulations to discourage smoking, MO has been moving beyond traditional cigarettes and expanding in the smokeless category. Altria Group's expected earnings growth rate for the current year is 5.3%. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for its current-year earnings has improved 2.1% over the past 60 days. MO currently has a Zacks Rank #2. Altria Grouphas a beta of 0.60 and a current dividend yield of 6.86%. The Coca-Cola Company's strong brand equity, marketing, research and innovation help it to garner a market share of more than 40% in the non-alcoholic beverage industry. KO is putting its best foot forward to evolve its business model to become a total beverage company with something for everyone to drink. The Coca-Cola Company has coped with the industry-wide flattening of soda sales over the years by going on a buying spree and making investments in healthier alternatives like coffee, sparkling water and sports drinks. The Coca-Cola Company has an expected earnings growth rate of 3.1% for the current year. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for current-year earnings has improved 0.3% over the past 60 days. KO currently carries a Zacks Rank #2. The Coca-Cola Company has a beta of 0.46 and a current dividend yield of 2.95%.
