Don't Blame Cardi B For Delay Of 2nd Album, Blame Her No-Show Features: ‘I Need Y'all To Hurry Up!'

Yahoo13-05-2025

Here's the thing. It's not Cardi B's fault that her long-in-the-works sophomore studio album hasn't been released yet. At least that's what Cardi said during an Instagram Live session with fans this week, in which the rapper claimed that the real hold-up is the feature verses she's waiting on from her guests.
'I really need these f–king features,' she said in a repost of the session. 'And it's like I'm not really trying to press or go crazy on these artists because I love them down. But it's like come on now! I need that! I need that right now! Helloooo! Y'all don't want to miss this opportunity. I'll sing this s–t myself! But I really need y'all and I need y'all to hurry up and I love y'all. I feel like nobody want to miss being on this album.'

In an X Spaces chat on March 31 Cardi said, 'the features on my album are really good… I don't have a lot of features but I'm working with artists, some that I have worked before and some that I haven't worked before. And the ones that I have not worked before, I feel like it's gonna really, really surprise y'all.'
In the Insta chat this week, she admitted to fans that she often doesn't 'feel too confident' about a lot of things, but that she's 'very confident' about the unnamed follow-up to her smash 2018 debut, Invasion of Privacy. 'These motherf–kers almost cried listening to my s–t,' she said of her team, noting that they told her there were 'no skips' on the album.
'It's iconic! This album is so good!' Cardi raved. 'I put my whole p–sy on it! I rapped with the bottom of my p–sy! So hurry up!' While Cardi did not specify who she is waiting on, she again encouraged them to get in the booth because, flipping her hair back and forth across her face she promised, 'this album is for the books!… Like, the production, the production, the feelings, the words, the rap… it's just, it's really there. Y'all not even understanding.'
At press time no release date or track list for the untitled album had been announced.

Cardi B Says ‘We're Outside'—And That's Exactly Where We're Going

Source: Antony Jones / Getty Cardi B just gave us permission to be outside all summer long with the official drop of 'Outside.' And the way this track is hitting, you'd better believe we're heading there now with a fresh nail set, poppin lip gloss, and no apologies. Dropped on Friday, June 20, Cardi's song is already shaping up to be the summer anthem. We've been looking for one – and it seems like we have it. After weeks of teasing fans with snippets on social media and lyrics that hit all too well, Cardi finally let the full version loose. And, yes, it's giving everything it needs to give. RELATED: Cardi B Is Flexing A New Man And A New Chapter On Instagram – And We Love To See It Source: Antony Jones / Getty Cardi B previewed 'Outside' two days ago during a performance at the Spotify Beach event in Cannes, France. Knowing the fire she was about to spit, the femee looked the TF good for the stage moment. Braving the summer temps, the New York raptness rocked a striped fringe dress we loved. The custom mini moment hugged her curves just right and oozed retro realness. The flirty design and fun fabric were the perfect complement to the beats – and bars – she dropped. The 'Bongos' rapper paired her dress with a fierce pair of Maison Margiela booties in a matching orange tone, adorned with a touch of fringe magic. Cardi completed her Cannes look with voluminous black curls, a buss-down middle part, and glam makeup. While 'Outside' is built for the club, it was written with raw honesty. Cardi doesn't hold back—and that's exactly what makes this one resonate. 'When I tell you these n—–s ain't shit, please believe me,' Cardi says on 'Outside.' 'They gon' fck on anything, these n—–s way too easy / Good for nothing, low-down, dirty dogs, I'm convinced / Next time you see your momma, tell her how she raised a btch.' In her Instagram Stories, Cardi revealed that she originally wrote the song while angry. (She joked she had to edit a few lyrics because of her raw emotion). 'Outside' isn't just about shaking something (though we absolutely will); it's about living your best life and reclaiming your peace, self-love, and confidence. Whether you're heading to a rooftop party, brunch with your girls, or making a dramatic exit from whatever no longer serves you, Cardi's got you covered. We don't know if a video or remix is coming, but we're sure something is coming. And when it drops, we'll be ready – and already 'Outside.' Thunder superfan Kristin Chenoweth nailed the national anthem before Game 7

The Oklahoma City Thunder broke out the big guns ahead of Sunday night's Game 7. Before tip off in the winner-take-all game of the NBA Finals against the Indiana Pacers, the Thunder had Kristin Chenoweth — a Tony and Emmy-award winner and star of the Broadway hit show Wicked — sing the national anthem. Chenoweth is a long-time Thunder superfan and an Oklahoma native who knows her hoops. Plus, of course, as a Broadway alum and Tony-winning singer there was absolutely no chance of a repeat of Fergie's incredibly weird national anthem. Chenoweth took her time with Game 7's national anthem before hitting the high notes at the end in typical stunning Chenoweth style. The fans in Oklahoma City absolutely loved the anthem too, if the roar of the crowd was any indication.

Cardi B Takes It "Outside" With Her First Single in Over a Year

Summary Cardi Bhas been sporadic with her solo releases lately, finally returning to the scene with her first single in just about 15 months. The now-streaming 'Outside' is the Washington Heights rapper's first new music since she dropped off 'Enough (Miami)' back in March of 2024 – the latter of which marked another 'return' from the rapper, marking her first solo studio release since February 2021's 'Up.' So, needless to say, whenever we get a new Cardi offering, it's a treat. After first premiering 'Outside' back in May at a Cannes afterparty, Cardi has finally dropped the high-octane track on all streaming platforms. The rapper took to her Instagram earlier last week to announce the song's official release. Landing the same day asOffset's new track 'Bodies,' Cardi doesn't hold back on 'Outside,' coming in hot from her first bar. 'Well, let's go wrong for wrong (What?), let's go lick for lick (Let's go) / If I can handle that (Uh-huh), let me see you handle this (Okay),' she fires off on the first verse. 'Do you how you do me, bet you we won't speak again / Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM.' Stream 'Outside' – out on all streaming platforms now.
