Bold & Beautiful's Scott Clifton On Talk of a Return to General Hospital: ‘I'm Just Thinking About… '

Yahoo14-05-2025

As The Bold and the Beautiful takes Liam's condition from bad to worse — even Hope now knows that he's dying — the writing on the wall is increasingly reading that Scott Clifton will soon be out of a job. Hard to believe, right? He's played Mr. Waffle Man, as his father calls him, for 15 years and in that time has racked up three Daytime Emmys and driven a [bleep]-ton of story.
But even if it is the end of the line for Liam, it isn't necessarily a wrap for Clifton's career in daytime. He could return to the role that gave him his start in soaps, that of Dillon Quartermaine on General Hospital. The character's domineering mother Tracy is back in Port Charles as is Lulu Spencer, who once upon a time wove a tangled web to entice him to cheat on then-wife Georgie Jones. Clifton could slip right back into the part as if he'd never left it and been recast with Robert Palmer Watkins.
Except for one thing.
'I am not at all thinking about General Hospital or any other show,' he tells Soap Opera Digest. 'I'm just thinking about doing the best job I can do telling this story. That is what is important to me.
'I just want to do right by this show,' he continues, 'and this story and and this storyteller — namely, Brad' Bell, the executive producer and headwriter of Bold & Beautiful.
Suffice it to say, Clifton is more than doing right by the story. In fact, as Liam tries to keep his chin up even as he's breaking down, he's shattering our hearts on the daily.
Making this heartrending plot even more poignant is that we know the character so well — even if sometimes we've wanted to throttle him. Review in our updated photo gallery.

New Research Shows the Most Popular Baby Name, and It's Not Olivia

The Social Security Administration has been publishing its highly anticipated Top Baby Names list every year for the last nearly 30 years, and since its debut in 1997, the list has inspired people all over the world to name their newborns with the trendiest titles in mind. In 2025, naming baby girls Olivia, Emma, and Amelia, and little boys Liam, Noah, and Oliver became the norm as a result. However, new research reveals that the SSA got it wrong when it comes to the most popular baby girl names of 2024. On June 5, Nameberry (AKA 'the world's largest baby naming site') debuted its 2024 Playground Analysis. According to the site's research, Sophia (Sofia and Sofiya) is the most popular girl's name, followed by Amelia (Emelia, Emilia, and Amilia) and Olivia (Alivia and Alyvia). The top three most popular boys' names, however, remain the same, with Liam on top, and Noah and Oliver coming in for second and third. 'The Social Security Administration differentiates and ranks names based on spelling, while Nameberry's Playground Analysis groups names according to sound, because when you're on the playground, Luca with a C is virtually the same as Luka with a K,' Nameberry writer Emma Waterhouse explained in a recent TikTok. 'My colleague Kelly combined all the variant spellings of names into groups, and then ranked the groups to get the real top baby names of 2024… The hardest part of The Playground Analysis is deciding which names to group together because many names have multiple pronunciations. But, as a whole, The Playground Analysis is much more reflective of the names you're actually hearing out and about than the SSA stats are.' As creative as Nameberry's approach to determining the top names of the year is, many TikTokers were simply too distracted by the many spellings shown in the video, which depicted the top 20 baby names for boys and girls, to care. 'Spelling it Charlette should be a Class A felony,' one TikToker commented on the video. 'Absolutely bone-chilled and shocked to see 'Madelyn' used as the base spelling,' another person remarked. 'I can't believe they made up six ways to spell Jackson,' someone else chimed in. Spelling aside, some TikTokers did take the time to applaud the grouping system, while others agreed that deciding which names go together is quite tricky. 'The fact that previous analysis didn't think to combine different spelling variations… like, who designed that?' one person remarked. Needless to say, if you've ever wondered where some of the names in your kiddo's class originated, these in-depth name analyses shed some light. 'My son is 11. There were six Aidens in his class of 21 kids this year,' one TikToker revealed. 'Nooo—I thought the Aiden and Caden reign of terror was over,' someone else exclaimed. Nick Cannon Forgets His Kids' Names: Fans React

Nick Cannon is no stranger to controversial parenting choices, and his most recent interview isn't helping his case. The media mogul is the proud father of 12 children: He shares 14-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with his ex-wife Mariah Carey; sons Golden Sagon (8) and Rise Messiah Cannon (2) and daughter Powerful Queen (4) with Brittany Bell; 3-year-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin (2) with Abby De La Rosa. He fathers son Legendary Love (2) with Bre Tiesi, and daughter Onyx Ice Cole (2) with LaNisha Cole. Nick also shares two children with Alyssa Scott — son Zen, who died at five months old in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie Cannon (2). Earlier this week, during the latest episode of The Really Good Podcast with Bobbi Althoff, Nick was quizzed on his children's names, and, unfortunately, he didn't pass the test. The two discussed an array of topics, with one of them being fatherhood. Nick opened up about wanting to live like a king. Despite revealing he doesn't want to get married again, he revealed he'd rather enjoy multiple women and produce a court of children. "Why do you have so many kids?" Bobbi asked. "I always wanted a big family, but I come from an unorthodox family," replied Nick, who has four younger brothers. "I have a king complex. I really think I'm a king," he added. "Do kings have a lot of kids?" she questioned. "Yeah, that's their court. They enlarge their territory." To emphasize his comments, Nick told Bobbi the story of King Solomon from the Bible and explained how he had 700 wives and 300 concubines. "I don't want no wives, I just want more kids." But shortly after making that statement, The Masked Singer host added, "I think I'm done [having children]...I don't know what God and the universe have in store for me." Later on in the interview, Bobbi asked Nick about the names of his 12 offspring. "You want all 12 names?" he replied. "Right, this is usually where I get in trouble." Bobbi pondered, "Why 'cuz you don't know all of them?" To which Nick responded, "I know all of them, but when you label... Like, can you label or just rattle off 12 of anything?" Nick then challenged her to name 12 states, but Bobbi wanted him to ask her to name something more personal so that it would match him listing the names of his children. After a little back-and-forth, Nick finally responded: "There's Rock (Moroccan), Roe (Monroe), Golden, Powerful, Rise, Onyx, Legendary, Zion, Zillion, Zen, this is where many is that?" After a short pause, he concluded, "I'm missing two. Oh, yeah, did I say Beautiful? There's Beautiful and then there's Halo, my youngest." can watch the full interview below: What do you think of all this? Share your thoughts with me below!
