Bharatiya Nyay Sahita
(BNS). However, during the exam, two major questions carrying 10 marks each were on IPC. The NU exam section said they too received a complaint and would be referring the matter to the Board of Studies.
According to a student from a private law college, earlier in their course, they had been taught IPC sections. Then, in the middle of the semester, the administration informed them that the students would have to study the BNS. They had also received a revised syllabus, which clearly mentioned that the BNS would replace IPC. The students then started studying the BNS sections, but during their final exam of the subject 'Law of Crime', they were asked questions related to the IPC sections.
One of the teachers informed the students that despite the notification from NU to teach BNS, students got the IPC questions in their exams, which came as a surprise to the college and the students. "Actually, the students were confused with the sections of IPC and BNS, and we have asked the University not to do injustice to the students even if the sections are wrongly quoted," said Rajan, director of Central India College of Law.
Sanjay Kavishwar, director, Board of Examinations and Evaluation, told TOI that so far just one exam centre has reported the issue, and it has to be referred to the Board of Studies for consideration. "The question paper would be reviewed, and a decision would be taken," he said.

No-fly zone declared in Vellore on June 25-26 for Chief Minister's visit
Collector V. R. Subbulaxmi on Sunday has declared that the district will be a no fly zone on June 25-26 during the visit of the Chief Minister M.K. 30-year-old held for breaking into hosp's girls hostel, molesting student
Indore: A 30-year-old man, who broke into girls' hostel of Amaltas Hospital in Bangar with the intent to commit theft and later attacked a student with a knife during an attempted sexual assault, was arrested by police. The accused, Sanjay Parmar alias Sanju, a resident of Bangar village in Dewas district, was identified through CCTV footage captured by cameras installed in the area with public assistance. The incident took place on the night of June 18, when Parmar trespassed into the hostel room and attempted to sexually assault a student at knifepoint. When the student resisted and tried to escape, he launched a brutal attack, inflicting serious injuries. Following the incident, a case was registered at Bank Note Press police station under relevant sections of the BNS, and an intensive investigation was launched. SP Puneet Gehlod said that four dedicated police teams were formed. The teams reviewed over 250 CCTV footage and questioned 42 suspects. Based on leads from technical surveillance and informant networks, the accused was taken into custody. During questioning, Parmar disclosed that he previously worked as a labourer during the construction of the hospital's girls' hostel and was familiar with its layout and entry points, including the locations of CCTVs. He admitted that he entered the hostel with the intent to steal but, upon seeing the girl asleep, his intentions changed. He then attempted to molest her at knifepoint and assaulted her when she tried to flee. Police said the accused climbed to the hostel's first-floor terrace using a ladder from the nearby fields, broke into the room through the rear bathroom access, and carried out the attack. Parmar already has a criminal record, including a recent case registered at the Bank Note Press police station under sections related to molestation and Pocso Act violations.
