A1 closed after motorbike and lorry crash

A major road in South Yorkshire has been closed in both directions due to a "serious collision" between a motorbike and a lorry.
National Highways said the A1 was shut between junction 35 for Doncaster and junction 34 for Blyth, Worksop, following the crash earlier.
"All emergency services are working at the scene with South Yorkshire Police leading the response at this stage," the agency added.
Drivers have been told to expect delays, with diversions in place.

A pileup involving four passenger vehicles and a semitrailer backed up traffic on Les Paul Parkway at Racine Avenue in Waukesha shortly before noon June 20, resulting in injuries. Waukesha police were still investigating what led to the collision, which took place in the heart of a construction zone that has narrowed traffic to one lane in each direction from Sunset Drive to Arcadian Avenue this summer. While there were multiple injuries, none appeared life-threatening, Lt. Kyle Bergner said. "Everyone was conscious and alert, talking to us, so it looks as though we avoided anything too serious," Bergner said. As of mid-afternoon, the department's commercial motor vehicle unit was still sifting through the details, including talking with crash victims. It wasn't immediately known if all the vehicles were heading north or south on Les Paul Parkway, also known as U.S. Highway 18/state Highways 59-164, which is part of the West Waukesha Bypass Route. But the accident did cause backups as at least 11 emergency vehicles were called to the scene. Waukesha Alerts posted on the social media site X that traffic was at a standstill for miles at one point during the early afternoon. "I think this one drew a little bit more attention because obviously it was on 164 and backups were related to it, and a semi was involved," Bergner said. He added he didn't anticipate the department releasing any additional information, given that there no were no fatalities. Section of the A3 to close over the weekend

A section of the A3 will close in both directions over the weekend as the £317m Wisley interchange upgrade continues in Surrey. National Highways has said the closure will be between the M25 Junction 10 and the Painshill Roundabout in Cobham, lasting from 21:00 BST on Friday until 06:00 on Monday. The works include installing an overhead road sign holder, drainage work in the central reservation and installing trenches for technology across all lanes. Diversions will be in place across the weekend. The same section of the A3 will be closed again from 4 to 7 July, say National Highways.
