Traitors star becomes learning disability charity ambassador
A finalist of The Traitors has teamed up with a learning disability charity to become its newest ambassador. Alexander Dragonetti appeared on the third series of the show and said if he had won he would have donated some of the prize money to Mencap, after the charity helped his late brother. Fans of the show have since helped raise £95,000 for the Peterborough-based charity, which Mr Dragonetti said was "nothing short of incredible".He said: "People with a learning disability still face stigma and exclusion every day - I want to help Mencap increase visibility of learning disability and hope that in doing so we can promote acceptance and inclusion."
The charity announced the news on National Siblings Day on 10 April in a series of videos shared on social media. Previously speaking to BBC Radio 4, Mr Dragonetti said he did not know whether or not to talk publicly about his brother, who had global development delay and autism. He said: "I talked about a summer camp I used to attend. This was a place where he could shine. He could be himself, he'd have infinite attention, he could be silly and my parents could get a break."My brother was the most wonderful human being and I miss him so deeply. I also know how hard it can be for parents looking after children with special needs."
The Traitors, which is filmed in the Scotland, sees contestants engage in challenges, "murders", roundtables and banishments to build up a prize pot of money. He said: "It's remarkable how many people have experience or are impacted by learning disability. Hearing their stories has been humbling, and often surprisingly moving. "I am also passionate about raising awareness, and am so excited to continue doing this. Being different isn't easy and I'm proud to play a role for an organisation that breaks down barriers and improves understanding." Jon Sparkes, the chief executive at Mencap, said the charity was "thrilled" to welcome Mr Dragonetti to the "family". "He has already done so much to raise awareness of our essential work by bravely sharing his family's story, and in doing so has opened people's minds about learning disability."

'William has key priority he'd never put in jeopardy - despite any criticism'
Prince William is marking a special day today as he celebrates turning 43 - and it comes after he puts what he described as a 'brutal' year behind him From tackling climate change and saving the oceans to trying to solve the homelessness crisis, Prince William seems to be a man on a mission. At the same time, his father the King has also been diagnosed with the disease. Not only was he on hand to support them both, but he also proved to be a rock for his three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. He memorably described 2024 as "brutal" and significantly one of the "hardest of his life". But with Kate now in remission, things look different 12 months on as he turns a year older, focus shifts slightly to duty. In the past week, not only has he been at Trooing and Garter Day but also Royal Ascot and carried out a visit alongside actress Cate Blanchett to Colorifix - a Norwich-based company which creates sustainable dye for clothing, and is one of his Earthshot Prize finalists. And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells the Mirror that William is "extremely serious" when it comes to the job that his life has given him. She explained: "As he himself has said, if he can't make some kind of difference, some kind of impact on issues he cares so deeply about – then what is the point of being a prince or of having such a high profile platform? "So, now that the crisis of the past 18 months has eased, he seems to be working pretty much flat out for much of the time, and I'm sure that will continue." But despite his work and duty, there is one thing that always comes first for William as well as wife Kate - family. William is a very hands-on parent, doing the school run and ferrying the kids to their various after-school sports clubs and activities. Putting family first was no more so evident than at Easter earlier this year when he and his family skipped the traditional Easter Sunday church service with the King and Queen at Windsor to spend precious family time together - all with the King's blessing. And even if his schedule may seem busier, Jennie believes this family time is something William will always make a priority. She said: "These years are a period when, without the never-ending state duties of a monarch, he can be allowed to concentrate rather more fully on his wife and children. So I think school holidays will continue to be ring-fenced as much as possible, even if he is criticised for doing so. "You just have to look at the pictures of William and his children released for Father's Day to see how much they adore him and how close they are as a family. This tall, handsome, smiling man is their dad and their protector. And William would never want to put that in any jeopardy." It's not known exactly what type of birthday celebration will be in store for William today - but no doubt it will involve Kate and the kids. Last year, Kate shared an incredible photo of her husband and three children leaping over sand dunes in Norfolk with the message: "Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx" His father the King also shared a baby photo of the Prince sitting on his lap. And Jennie added: "His birthday is on a Saturday this year, so there'll be a chance for a family celebration. I doubt it will be anything particularly grand - it's more likely they'll enjoy a family barbecue and a romp around the garden or beach."

Traitors star Claudia seen without eyeliner in candid photo from hospital bed
The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman has warned fans not to zoom in on her eye as she posts a candid pic from hospital bed. Mostly recognised for her iconic block fringe and eyeliner, Claudia Winkleman is being forced to change her look as she revealed that she had recently undergone eye surgery. As a result, the TV presenter won't be able to wear her staple eyeliner for the coming weeks as she recovers. On Friday night, the 53-year-old posted on Instagram a makeup free photo of herself and her doctor as she revealed she had surgery on her eye. Posing without her usual fake tan and heavy eye makeup, Claudia warned fans not to zoom into her eye as she shared that it's 'wonky'. Along with the picture, Claudia told her followers: "This amazing human makes me see. He's operated on my eyes before and he did it again today. No eyeliner for weeks and I sleep in goggles (no words) but I'm eternally grateful. "Do NOT zoom in on my left eye - it's wonky. Thank you Julian. I paid for the treatment, this isn't an ad. I just love him. It's very possible I'm still a bit sedated. Night night." One of the first to comment was Googlebox's Izzi Warner, who said: "We still have the costume and Bobby is willing to wear the eye liner for you if you need a stand in Claudia! Happy healing." Drag Race UK star Baga Chips also left praise for The Traitors host, writing: "You look beautiful Claudia." Also in the comments, one fan shared their experience with the same doctor. They said: "He did my eye surgery about 8 years ago! Played rock music as he did it. He told me it would be life changing and he was right. Amazing man!" Claudia informed her fans of her health update just days after she was made a MBE - Member of the Order of the British Empire - at the King Charles III's birthday honours. Alongside Strictly Come Dancing co-host Tess Daley, Claudia was honoured for her services to broadcasting. The new MBE said: "I am incredibly grateful to receive this honour. It's a real privilege to work with extraordinarily talented people and I have only got this because of them. "So this is for the BBC, the traitors and the faithful, for pianos and for the cha cha. Brooklyn Beckham has been given a stern word of warning as he continues to give his family the silent treatment as he bids to go it alone in the US. Amidst the family feud with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, the 26-year-old bought a permanent home in Los Angeles with his wife Nicola Peltz. This comes after the eldest Beckhams' son had snubbed his dad on his 50th birthday, as well as his long-awaited knighthood. The couple were not seen to attend either event or celebrate the occasions through social media. While both the couple and the Beckhams are keeping quiet about the situation, Brooklyn is being urged to break the current silent treatment by PR to the stars Jane Owen. In order to create a positive brand, Jane argues that silence isn't always the best answer. Speaking to the Mirror, she said: "The problem with not saying anything is that it allows people to assume the worst. Silence is extremely damaging because silence in itself is a statement. "When people are having a field day throwing out all kinds of criticism and he's not saying anything it's the same as saying 'yes, that's right'. People will just assume that if it wasn't true he would say something so the silence is compliance." Jane instead believes that honesty is the best policy, as it allows fans to see the human side of celebrities. She added: "Fighting with your family is something everyone can relate to. While the influencer is now wanting to start fresh in the US, the PR guru has also noted that while Brooklyn is known in the states, it is more to do with his family connections. She argues that if he is intent on making a name for himself away from his family ties and the current feud, then he needs to pick a lane and push on with it. The US-based PR expert said: "He has a certain amount of name recognition but honestly that's mostly because of his famous parents and his last name. People in the US know his name but they would not be able to tell you much about him or what he does apart from just existing. "I would strongly recommend that he pick a career and really go for it in a public way. He has enough brand recognition in his last name that he could get a lot of press attention about whatever it is that he decides he wants to do as himself, whether that's being a chef or restaurateur or a content creator or whatever. "He needs to be loud about it so that people start seeing him as Himself and not just someone's offspring." According to sources, the move to Los Angeles and the purchase of a permanent home is said to be nothing to do with the rift between the Beckhams and Brooklyn and Nicola. Instead, the source says that Brooklyn sees LA as "where his home is". They added: "This house has nothing to do with family dynamics. Both Nicola and Brooklyn's careers are based in Los Angeles, and Brooklyn spent part of his childhood there while his father played for LA Galaxy.
