Downtown Greenville intersection to close for another BUILD Project phase

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — As part of the ongoing BUILD Project with the City of Greenville, an intersection downtown will be closed starting next week.
The intersection of West Fifth Street and South Pitt Street will undergo construction starting Monday, June 2. Improvements like wider sidewalks, brick crosswalks, traffic signal upgrades, site furnishings and street trees will be made over a projected period of 6-7 months. During this time the intersection will be closed to drivers. Businesses near the construction will remain open.
This closure comes behind the opening of the new roundabout at West Fifth Street, Elizabeth Street and Albemarle avenue on Friday evening.
