Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse announces Wrexham Lager partnership
Wrexham Lager Beer Company has signed a three-year deal with Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse, giving the brewer exclusive pouring rights until 2028.
The agreement will see Wrexham Lager served on draught, in 440ml cans, and in 330ml bottles across the racecourse, including its Pilsener and Export varieties.
Jon Roberts, interim chief executive officer of The Wrexham Lager Beer Company, said: "We're proud to announce this new partnership.
"Wrexham Lager has been a supporter of Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse for many years now, and we're delighted to strengthen our relationship even further.
"Tucked away in Wales' picturesque countryside, Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse is a true hidden gem, so we're delighted that guests can now enjoy our premium lager as they experience the excitement on the track.
"The partnership is another great opportunity to continue supporting Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse and to provide award-winning Wrexham Lager to racegoers who value quality, craftsmanship and authenticity."
First brewed in 1882, Wrexham Lager is the oldest lager brand in the UK and continues to use traditional Bavarian methods in its brewing process.
The partnership will also include prominent branding on-site and across racecourse promotional materials.

Canada could produce first LNG by this weekend, sources say
HOUSTON, June 18 (Reuters) - Canada could produce its first ever liquefied natural gas this weekend, from the LNG Canada export facility in Kitimat, British Columbia, two people familiar with the startup of the plant told Reuters on Wednesday. The facility, the first of a handful of Canadian LNG projects to begin production, will be the first LNG facility in North America with direct access to the Pacific coast, significantly reducing sail time to Asian markets. When fully operational it will have a capacity to export 14 million metric tonnes per annum (mtpa), according to company statements. "We began cooling down Train 1 on Monday and as long as there is no unforeseen difficulty we expect to produce LNG six days from Monday. So I would say between Saturday and Sunday we can expect first LNG," one of the people familiar with the startup told Reuters. Cooldown of Train 1 is expected to continue until Thursday June 19 and extensive flaring is expected, LNG Canada told staff in a memo last Friday. First LNG will be produced from Train 1, with first LNG cargoes by the middle of this year, LNG Canada told Reuters on Tuesday. Only a portion of the processing plant will be operating this weekend, according the two sources. Train 1 which has a capacity of 6.5 mtpa, or half of the total output of LNG Canada, has had difficulties with one of its lines and it will only produce at half its capacity until it is able to solve the problem, one of the two sources told Reuters. LNG Canada did not comment on the production challenges. LNG tanker Gaslog Glasgow is on its way to LNG Canada's Kitimat port, according to LSEG ship tracking data. The vessel is expected to arrive on June 29 and will be loaded with LNG, the people said. Once LNG Canada enters service, Canadian gas exports to the U.S. will likely decline, traders said, as Canadian energy firms will have another outlet for their fuel and will sell more to other countries. For now, the U.S. is the only outlet for Canadian gas. Canada exported about 8.6 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) of gas via pipelines to the U.S. in 2024, up from 8.0 bcfd in 2023 and an average of 7.5 bcfd over the prior five years (2018-2022), according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. That compares with a record 10.4 bcfd in 2002.

Russian Sibur doubles LPG loadings from Ust-Luga, resumes supply to India
MOSCOW, June 17 (Reuters) - Sibur, Russia's largest producer and exporter of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), has doubled LPG loadings through the Baltic port of Ust-Luga in January-May 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 to 418,000 metric tons, according to two industry sources and LSEG data. The sources said Sibur managed to increase exports by fixing for shipments of several new MGC (medium gas carrier) class gas tankers, each able to carry up to 20,000 tons of product. The company also managed to resume LPG supplies to India it last did in 2023, LSEG data showed. Following EU sanctions on Russian LPG supplies (except for butane and isobutane) at the end of 2024, Sibur partially redirected volumes from Europe to Ust-Luga port for seaborne exports and looked for new buyers for its product, the sources said. Until April this year Sibur's LPG sea shipments were mostly Turkey-bound with about 90% of all shipments from Ust-Luga going to the country, but last month Sibur shipped two tankers with a total volume of about 40,000 tons to India. According to traders, Sibur shifted a part of the LPG volumes from Turkey to India because of the excess on the Mediterranean market. "There is a lot of gas on the (Mediterranean) market, especially propane. So it is quite a reasonable move to redirect part of the volumes to India," one of the sources said. Sibur confirmed to Reuters their LPG shipments from Ust-Luga to India in May. The company believes that the increase in LPG shipments by Sibur as a whole from Ust-Luga is due to "an increase in available volumes (of LPG), since the Russian market is currently (in) surplus." Regarding the prospects for Sibur's LPG deliveries to India in the future, the company's press service told Reuters that "Sibur is constantly evaluating all available markets and will look at the economic efficiency (of deliveries)" Sibur previously supplied LPG from Ust-Luga to India in the third quarter of 2023 after European buyers partially banned LPG purchases from Russia. In 2024, Sibur cut loadings from Ust-Luga port by 37% compared to 2023 to 570,000 tons, according to traders and LSEG. At the end of 2023, the European Union imposed an embargo on the import of Russian-origin LPG with a 12-month transition period, during which the export of propane-butane from Russia to Europe was possible under long-term contracts concluded before the introduction of sanctions. Since December 2024, the sanctions have come into full force.
