Marcus Rashford Hints at Barcelona Move Amid Yamal Praise
Rashford's La Liga Ambition Raises Eyebrows
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has publicly revealed his interest in joining Barcelona, sparking fresh speculation about his Old Trafford future. In a recent interview with Spanish influencer Javi Ruiz, Rashford heaped praise on teenage sensation Lamine Yamal and didn't hold back when asked if he'd like to play alongside him.

'Yes, for sure, Everyone wants to play with the best. Hopefully… we'll see,' Rashford responded, hinting at a potential move that would mark a dramatic shift in his career trajectory.
Uncertain United Future for Rashford
Having spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford finds himself at a crossroads. Despite being under contract with United for another three years, no offers have been tabled for the 26-year-old forward, according to Sky Sports News.
The uncertainty is compounded by Manchester United's broader summer shake-up under head coach Ruben Amorim. Christian Eriksen, Jonny Evans, and Victor Lindelof have all departed, while Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho are reportedly up for sale.
Barcelona Interest Not New
Barcelona's interest in Rashford isn't without foundation. Sporting director Deco admitted last month that the club 'like' Rashford as well as Liverpool's Luis Diaz. Additionally, Athletic Club's Nico Williams is also on their radar.

Rashford's admiration for Yamal may make a switch even more appealing. 'It's difficult to put into words what he's doing because he's not supposed to be doing that at 16 or 17. I don't think we've seen that before,' he said, clearly impressed by the young winger's breakout performances for both Barcelona and Spain.

United Already Planning Reinforcements
United's recruitment drive continues, with Matheus Cunha arriving from Wolves for £62.5m. The Red Devils are also interested in Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, as Amorim seeks to rebuild after the club's lowest-ever Premier League finish.

Despite the transfer buzz, the Rashford situation remains unresolved. His high-profile comments about Barcelona are unlikely to go unnoticed by the Old Trafford hierarchy or the fans who've watched his journey from academy product to club figurehead.
Our View – EPL Index Analysis
From a Manchester United supporter's perspective, Marcus Rashford's latest comments are bound to divide opinion. On one hand, it's natural for any top-level player to admire talents like Lamine Yamal – the 17-year-old is already a phenomenon at Barcelona. But for a United stalwart to openly speak about wanting to play elsewhere, especially during such a critical rebuild, leaves a sour taste.
There's also frustration over the timing. Rashford's dip in form and subsequent loan to Aston Villa were signs he was no longer an automatic starter. Fans hoped a strong pre-season would reignite his United career. Instead, this flirtation with Barcelona may feel like a distraction, if not a signal of intent to move on.

Some will point to Rashford's loyalty over the years – including playing through injuries and staying amid previous offers – as reason to give him grace. Others will argue that no player is bigger than the club, and Amorim's refresh demands full commitment.
If Rashford stays, fans will expect clarity and professionalism. If he departs, they'll want it handled swiftly and with dignity. Either way, his comments make it clear that Rashford sees his career path beyond Manchester – and the club must now decide if it's time to cash in.

Alcaraz crowned king of Queen's for second time

Spain's Carlos Alcaraz celebrates winning the Queen's Club title for a second time (Adrian Dennis) Carlos Alcaraz clinched his second Queen's Club title as the world number two warmed up for Wimbledon with a 7-5, 6-7 (5/7), 6-2 win against Jiri Lehecka in Sunday's final. Alcaraz blasted 33 winners and 18 aces to subdue the gritty Czech world number 30 in two hours and 10 minutes in west London. Advertisement Having won titles on clay at the French Open, Rome and Monte Carlo, as well as the hard courts of Rotterdam, Alcaraz has now collected five trophies in 2025. The 22-year-old has not lost since the Barcelona final against Holger Rune on April 20 and is enjoying the longest winning streak of his career with 18 successive victories. Top seeded Alcaraz is just the second Spanish man to win Queen's twice after Feliciano Lopez, who lifted the trophy in 2017 and 2019. For a player raised on the clay courts of Spain, Alcaraz has developed into a formidable force on grass. The former world number one signalled his emergence on the surface by winning Queen's in 2023. Advertisement He clinched the Wimbledon title for the first time just weeks later and defended his All England Club crown last year. Alcaraz, who has an 11-1 career record at Queen's, will start his bid for a third successive Wimbledon title on June 30. After his semi-final win over Roberto Bautista Agut on Saturday, Alcaraz fired an ominous message to his Wimbledon rivals, warning that his "grass-court mode" had been activated. And on the evidence of his relentless display against the obdurate Lehecka, he is in no mood to surrender his All England Club crown. - Ruthless Alcaraz - Playing his first tournament since his epic French Open victory against Jannik Sinner two weeks ago, Alcaraz's march to the Queen's showpiece made it five consecutive finals for the Spaniard. Advertisement In contrast, Lehecka was playing in his first grass-court final after a shock win against British star Jack Draper in the last four. The 23-year-old was the first Czech in the Queen's final since Ivan Lendl in 1990. Lehecka had come from a set down to stun Alcaraz in the Qatar Open quarter-finals in February. But there would be no repeat of that upset on the lawns of Barons Court. In his second Queen's final, Alcaraz had an early chance to break in the fifth game of the first set. Lehecka thundered down an ace to get out of trouble of that occasion. But the five-time Grand Slam champion matched Lehecka's serve blow for blow, dropping just one point in his first four service games. Advertisement Alcaraz's piercing ground-strokes increased the pressure and Lehecka finally cracked in the the 11th game when an badly-timed double-fault gifted the first break to the Spaniard. Alcaraz served out the set in typically ruthless fashion, but Lehecka refused to surrender without a fight. A tight second set stayed on serve all the way through to the tie-break and, for once, Alcaraz stumbled with a key double-fault, allowing Lehecka to level the match. Alcaraz was unfazed, breaking for a 3-1 lead in the deciding set when Lehecka netted an off-balance forehand. Alcaraz had the finish line in sight and he wrapped up his latest title triumph with a flurry of searing winners. smg/ea

Fabrizio Romano confirms ‘outstanding' Man Utd star has decided where he wants to play next season

Fabrizio Romano confirms 'outstanding' Man Utd star has decided where he wants to play next season Fabrizio Romano shares the latest updates on Manchester United and their transfer plans, plus some important news on Antony. In the latest video update posted on his official YouTube channel, the famous Italian journalist reveals that the Red Devils remain keen to sign Bryan Mbeumo. Advertisement Nevertheless, Romano urges the United supporters to remain patient, as striking an agreement with Brentford will require a substantial investment, and this won't be easy after spending £62.5 million on Matheus Cunha, especially in the absence of European football next season. Man United plan to raise funds by selling Amorim's outcasts (Photo by) The transfer market expert thus explains that the Premier League giants will first have to offload the players who are deemed out of favour and no longer part of Ruben Amorim's plans. Romano specifically mentions Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, and Antony. Advertisement Unlike the other three outcasts, the Brazilian knows exactly where he wants to play next season, as Romano confirms his intention to remain at Real Betis. After two and a half disappointing years at Old Trafford, the 25-year-old managed to put his career back in order after joining the Spanish club in January, thanks to some 'outstanding' displays. Antony hellbent on sealing permanent Real Betis transfer The Tricky winger became an instant hit in Andalusia, producing some astonishing goals and pulling off fabulous plays, recapturing the magic of his earlier spell at Ajax. Therefore, Romano reveals that Antony has given his priority to Betis, despite receiving offers from Serie A. As we exlusively revealed earlier this week, the Brazil international has agreed to lower his salary to push the move through, while the LaLiga side has been working on an unconventional formula that would see them spend €20 million to partially buy the player's contract, with an obligation to purchase the remaining part next summer.

Alexander Bublik beats Daniil Medvedev to win Halle Open, reveals near-retirement from tennis

Alexander Bublik captured his first ATP Tour title of the 2025 campaign by downing Daniil Medvedev in straight sets, to claim the Halle Open for a second time in three years. When Bublik beat Andrey Rublev in the final of the German ATP 500 event in 2023, it represented the biggest title win of the Kazakh's career. Now, his triumph signifies a continuation of some red-hot form as tennis transitions from clay to grass. Advertisement The 28-year-old defeated world No. 1 Jannik Sinner en route to this title, ending the the Italian's imperious streak of not suffering defeat to anybody other than Carlos Alcaraz since August 2024. He then dazzled with victories over Tomas Machac and Karen Khachanov, before dispatching Medvedev 6-3, 7-6 (4) on Sunday. He had never beaten the Russian in six previous meetings. Bublik prevailed in relatively straight-forward fashion, breaking former world No. 1 Medvedev just once in the match — doing so to love in the first set for a 5-3 advantage, before subsequently holding without reply to take a big advantage. The pair traded holds throughout the second in a high-quality showing, both giving little away. Bublik, though, was forced to work in order to save a set point on serve. He and Medvedev could not be separated until the tiebreak. The 2021 US Open champion forged 4-1 ahead thanks to a mini-break, but soon found himself on the receiving end of the type of effervescent, varied tennis Bublik has showcased in recent weeks. The world No. 45 went on to dominate from the back of the court, while showcasing deft touches to bring Medvedev forward at opportune moments. A remarkable return to six consecutive points in the tiebreak saw Bublik seal the match, dropping to the floor with his head in the hands. "I was close to calling it quits after Wimbledon" This win means everything for Bublik 💛#TWO25 — Tennis TV (@TennisTV) June 22, 2025 His achievements of the past few weeks are barely believable after he lost motivation last year, dropping from No. 17 to No. 62, and admitted he was close to calling an end to his career. 'It's tough to speak, I had such tough months since last Wimbledon 'til this summer,' Bublik said on-court. 'I was close to calling it quits after Wimbledon because I was not enjoying it anymore, and I promised my coach I stay there, keep practicing and after Wimbledon will make a decision whether I need to take a couple months off before trying to come back. This is happening. I have no words.' Ahead of his stunning French Open round-of-16 victory over Jack Draper, Bublik said he has always balanced tennis and his personal life in equal measure, a luxury sometimes not afforded to those operating at the very elite level. But it now seems he has struck a winning balance. A Turin Challenger title, French Open quarterfinal and second Halle crown behind him, he now enters Wimbledon in perhaps the strongest form of his career. Crucially for the rest of the best in the world, he will now be seeded, meaning he can't roll up against a top player in the opening round and bamboozle them as he does done to so many in recent weeks. And Medvedev, whose defeat ended his unbeaten record over the Halle champion, knows just what a threat he could pose at Wimbledon. 'I hope you are in Carlos or Jannik's draw,' the Russian said. Bublik will likely fancy his chances wherever he lands.
