Broadway's biggest stars got to be, once again, in the room where it happened.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the breakout production, nearly 30 members of the original "Hamilton" cast reunited on the Tony's stage Sunday night to perform some of the show's biggest hits.
Creator Lin-Manuel Miranda was joined by Leslie Odom Jr., Jonathan Groff, Daveed Diggs and others for a medley of songs that drew raucous cheers from the crowd at Radio City Music Hall on June 8. With numbers like "My Shot," "The Schuyler Sisters" and "The Room Where It Happens," the ensemble invoked the historical tension of a colonial America with soaring melodies and witty rhymes, reminding the audience why "Hamilton" became a smash in the first place.

A lively, hip-hop-infused take on early American history, "Hamilton" has become a cultural phenomenon, catapulting both Odom and Miranda from Broadway performers to bona fide Hollywood stars.
Premiering at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre in August 2015 to widespread critical acclaim, it went on to win a whopping 11 Tony Awards, including best musical. A filmed version of the show starring the original cast debuted on Disney+ in 2020.
Set with a multi-racial cast, and heavily influenced by rap and hip-hop, the show reimagines the making of America, weaving in the very people its founding document was penned to leave out.

Who won the Tonys? One musical certainly had a standout night.
"Maybe Happy Ending," Will Aronson and Hue Park's musical on two "helperbots" and their journey of friendship, love and adventure, swept the awards with six wins, which included prizes for best musical, best original score, best book of a musical and best scenic design of a musical.

Miranda's revived Tonys performance comes as the production opted to remove shows at the Kennedy Center in the wake of a conservative rebrand under President Donald Trump.
"Political disagreement and debate are vital expressions of democracy. These basic concepts of freedom are at the very heart of 'Hamilton,'" show producer Jeffrey Seller wrote in a statement in March. "However, some institutions are sacred and should be protected from politics. The Kennedy Center is one such institution."
In February, Trump announced a massive overhaul at the Kennedy Center that included the termination of multiple board of trustees members and Chairman David Rubenstein. Installing himself as the new chairman, Trump cited the center's decision to host drag show performances at its venue as the reason for the changes in a Truth Social post earlier this year.

'I don't know," Wilson tells USA TODAY. "I have a feeling it could shoot next year, but we'll see.' 'Oh, my God, I hope you're right!" an elated Camp responds. "That'd be exciting.' 'The fans have been so eager for it," Wilson says. "It's had such a great life on streaming platforms like Netflix. There's so many people around the world who are fans of these movies and want to see us, and we're all legit real-life friends. We all want to come back and do it. I guess it's just the question of the script.' The story is also key for Camp as well. 'If Kay Cannon (writes) up an amazing script," Camp says, "we'd all be there with bells on ready to sing our little hearts out.'

'Dead Outlaw' musical to close on Broadway June 29

The show -- which has music and lyrics by David Yazbek and Erik Della Penna -- opened at Broadway's Longacre Theatre on April 27. David Cromer directed the production and Itamar Moses wrote the book. "Elmer McCurdy was an ambitious, turn-of-the-20th-century outlaw whose death at the hands of a Western posse ended a life of failed crime and alcoholism and began a brilliant career as a mummified side-show attraction that traveled the USA for decades," a synopsis said. That position marks a new high point on Billboard's list of the most successful full-lengths and EPs on platforms like Spotify and Apple Music for the title, as it now appears closer to the top 10 than ever before. It's extremely rare for any Broadway-related album to perform well enough on streaming sites to reach the Top Streaming Albums tally — let alone come within one spot of the loftiest region – and Hamilton stands alone in this respect. Hamilton's Cast Reunion at the Tony Awards Consumption of the Hamilton cast recording exploded following it being highlighted via a medley of songs performed during the 2025 Tony Awards. Many of the show's original cast members, including Jonathan Groff, Anthony Ramos, Daveed Diggs, Leslie Odom Jr., and of course Lin-Manuel Miranda, returned to the ceremony to blend eight tracks from the album, and the televised performance clearly reminded Americans of how much they love Hamilton. Hamilton's Album Rises 50% in Consumption According to Luminate, during the past tracking period, Hamilton shifted 27,500 equivalent units, between streaming activity and pure purchases. That's a jump of more than 51% from the previous period, when it managed 18,000 units. A little less than 1,000 of those were actual sales, which helps to explain how the musical was able to soar so high on the Top Streaming Albums tally. Hamilton Lives Inside the Top 10 Hamilton now lives inside the top 10 on half of all the Billboard rankings it appears on this week. The Miranda-powered project ascends one spot to No. 3 on the Top Rap Albums list and holds steady at No. 1 — yet again — on the Cast Albums ranking, where it is almost always in charge.
