Killing a Pillager Captain: These captains wear ominous banners and can be found leading patrols or at Pillager outposts. Defeating one gives the player the Bad Omen effect.
Using an Ominous Bottle: Introduced in Minecraft 1.21, consuming this item bestows the Bad Omen effect.
Note: In the Java Edition, if you keep on killing more captains, it will increase the Bad Omen level; the max is 5, where it really gets intense.
2. Enter a village.
Once the player successfully gets the Bad Omen effect active, they need to enter a village in order to trigger a raid.
Make sure you enter a village where there is at least one villager present and with a claimed bed in order to make the raid work. In Java Edition, a claimed bell or job site block can also define a village.
Upon entering the village:
The Bad Omen effect is consumed.
A raid bar appears, indicating the raid's progress.
Waves of illagers, including pillagers, vindicators, evokers, and ravagers, attack the village.
3. Prepare for the raid.
Always remember to be prepared before initiating a raid. Here is how a player should prepare before they trigger the raid:
Gear Up: Equip strong armor and weapons. Enchanted gear can provide a significant advantage.
