Commit or quit? Before you make a move, consider these key zodiac dates for relationships in 2025

Yahoo04-06-2025

Summer is here, at least in the Northern Hemisphere — and wedding season is upon us.
The most popular wedding dates of 2025 are Saturday, August 23, and Saturday, September 3.
While these days are presumably picked for fair weather and the poetic notion that love should come to fruition whilst the world that surrounds us is in full bloom and at apex ripeness, there is a curious cosmic alignment to these auspicious dates.
It's fitting that Saturday is the preferred day of the week for a hitching — it belongs to Saturn, our planet of karma, punishment, the long game, hard work, fortified foundations, and iron-clad commitments.Psychic, Tarot reader, and astrologer Inbaal Honigman explains that two planets in particular have a direct bearing on how love relationships start, peak, and end.
'Naturally, the love planet Venus is important. This is the planet that influences our emotional well-being, the way we relate to others, and how comfortable we are in a relationship. When Venus is in a romantic sign, such as Pisces or Cancer, people will be feeling more inclined to get into relationships.
'On the other hand, when Venus is in a very independent sign, such as Aries or Sagittarius, the inclination would be more towards breakups.'
From June 6th to July 5th, Venus will luxuriate in the pleasure pastures of Taurus. During this transit, we are drawn to the stable and the surefire and are more likely to commit, settle down, or just plain settle.
From July 31 to August 26th, Venus will dip into the tidal pools of Cancer, a sign associated with divine domesticity, matching pajamas, soup mugs, and reciprocal soul-nourishing.
This transit encourages an all-in, ready-to-move-in approach to relationships. It's about as cozy as the cosmos ever gets, folks — so ride it till it bucks you.
Speaking of…when Venus enters the bold b–ch and bronco heart of Sagittarius on December 1, we're primed to see relationships end and wedding plans halted as the energy shifts from obsessive Scorpio to fancy free Sag.
On the upswing or upright horseshoe, this transit also supports love as an unexpected discovery, rather than a well-plotted course — and elopement over the dog and pony show of a traditional wedding.
Who doesn't love a plot twist?
Mercury, our planet of the mind and the mouth, is another power player in the game of love.
'This is the planet that impacts the way we introduce ourselves, how we talk to others, and whether we tell the truth. When Mercury is in a communicative sign such as Gemini or Virgo, people are likely to talk themselves into somebody's favor.
'However, when Mercury is in a quieter sign such as Aquarius or Taurus, the vibe will be much more single,' explained Honigman.
If we factor in the shadow period, Mercury will be retrograding in Leo for the bulk of the summer (June 30th to August 25th). In Leo, Mercury is made of jazz hands, crocodile tears, long-winded soliloquy, and unabashed declarations of love.
Mercury retrograde in Leo loves nothing more than doomed romance and the comeback arch of long-lost love, so there could be reunions aplenty — or at least a reconcilatory fling before moving on and marrying up.
Mercury stations retrograde on August 11th, and will just about clear its shadow in time for the two most popular wedding dates of 2025.
Couples choosing to solidify their bond in late August and/or through September and October, will have likely come through the calamity of this transit bettered by it — and closer for it.
'What's interesting is that while wedding trends often follow practical patterns, like warm weather and weekends, there's often a subtle alignment with astrology too. August 23rd, this year's most popular wedding date, comes just after Mercury retrograde ends, which could feel like a natural moment of clarity and renewed connection for many couples,' Ella Citron-Thompkins from Diamonds Factory told The Post.
She noted that winter and particularly the Christmas season are among the least popular times for nuptials, and often herald the need for deep rest, quiet, and introspection.
More existential than marital, if you will.
'It's fascinating to see how the cosmic and the cultural sometimes overlap, even when we don't consciously plan it that way,' Citron-Thompkins said.

Happy Birthday, Cancer! Here's what's in the tarot cards for your year ahead

Happy solar return to you, Cancer! In honor of the sun moving into the cardinal tides of your sign, author and tarot reader Kerry Ward has prepared a tarot spread for your year ahead, featuring her Good Karma Tarot Deck. As a Water sign ruled by the moody mirror magic of the Moon, Cancer is associated with intuition, the divine feminine, and the sacrament of care. Cancereans move through the world within their own kind of weather, easily able to cast shadows, sunshine, heavy fog, and sudden downpours on others. Keen emotional intelligence, coupled with borderline psychic ability, translates to supernatural sensitivity and ability to meet the needs and treat the ails of others. Cancers learn through feeling, have a near masochistic sense of nostalgia for the dead past, and can sometimes confuse care with control. Tarot spread for Cancer season Good Karma tarot deck photographed by @inlovewithcameras 'Cancers are empathetic, creative, and hard to forget. Their sensitivity to and compassion for others is intense, and they possess a unique blend of passiveness and extreme stubbornness, loveliness and terrible moodiness. If you know a Cancer person, do wish them a happy birthday (because they won't forget if you forget, trust me!),' said Ward. People of the crab, read on to learn more about what the upcoming year holds in store for your sign. To book a personalized birthday tarot reading with Ward, visit her offerings page here. What does the Universe want you to know this birthday? PAGE OF WANDS With the guiding light of the Page of Wands, Ward tells the crab contingent that this is their era of experimentation! 'Play, innovate, step outside your comfort zone, and see what (or who…) is out there! Adopt a fearless and light-hearted approach to your life with the intent of seeing, doing, and trying more! Expand your horizons; the world is waiting for you.' First step? THE FOOL 'Good Karma tarot deck photographed by @inlovewithcameras' As you welcome your solar return, Ward recommends drawing a clear line between the present moment and the past, making sure to step forward without looking back. 'Make a dramatic and surprising fresh start in an area of your life where you want new energy and opportunity to enter. This might involve technology, travel, Aquarius folk, a progressive and humanitarian role, a project that leads to an invention, or a side hustle that something you're innately good at!' Who are you becoming in the year ahead? THREE OF WANDS To aid and abet your rebirth, Ward encourages Cancers to be 'more spontaneous, more open-hearted, and more forgiving of yourself.' 'Do not be ashamed of your desires.' She cautions that playing it safe amounts to keeping yourself small. 'You want bigger! Bolder! Better! Altering your approach will fling open many new doors.' What is your purpose in the year ahead? FIVE OF SWORDS Ward imparts that the divine purpose of the Cancer contingent this year is repair as self care — and acceptance as accelerant. 'You are meant to heal and to feel more at home in your skin and at peace with any and all divisions and demises from the past year or so. People fall out, leave, change, inflict betrayals, and cruelty. You feel everything intensely and deeply, and it's hard to let go of old wounds as their familiarity offers a kind of comfort.' Ward assures that if you can process this pain with an eye on objectivity and forgiveness, it will pave the way to progress on every front. How to celebrate Summer Solstice — based on your zodiac sign

Step up and shine on, my babies, the Summer Solstice is upon us. The Solstice arrives this year on Jun 20, 2025, at 10:42 p.m., marking the moment that our favorite death star is at its zenith. 'We're at the peak of summer and the peak of light in the Northern Hemisphere. This is a great time to be hedonistic, to enjoy, and to have that moment of recognition. Revel in these good times because we'll face some challenges later this year,' Evolutionary Astrologer Jill Brown told The Post. The word Solstice translates to 'sun standing still' — and this day of days offers a similar summons to we mortals, to be still and contemplate our own precipice, looking back at what's been and ahead to what will be. 5 The Summer Solstice delivers the longest day of the year and delivers us into the high tides and emotional depths of Cancer season. JK_kyoto – The Summer Solstice delivers the longest day of the year and thrusts us into the high tides and emotional depths of Cancer season. As cardinal water, Cancer draws us in, toward intuition, feminine mystery, interior worlds, and deep care. In effect, the Solstice lights our way home. 'The Solstice reminds me of Joseph Campbell's 'Hero's Journey' — where we've reached the false end or the road back. We're not done, we know there's still some journey left. It's bittersweet because from here on out, we're losing light every day. This is an opportunity to be really intentional about this pinnacle and about the time between now and winter.' Get it while you can, folks, and read on for Brown's suggestions on how to praise this pinnacle according to your zodiac sign. Fire signs – Aries, Leo, Sagittarius 5 Brown urges Fire signs to take part in rituals that embrace and/or stabilize their elemental nature. wpw – Brown urges Fire signs to participate in rituals that embrace and/or stabilize their elemental nature. 'In the pagan tradition, the Solstice is celebrated with bonfires and people gathering. If you're a Fire with an intention-setting practice, burn your intentions after you make them.' Circle up to get down and burn it bright to get right, folks. Brown also recommends smudging/smoke cleansing, fortifying plants with ashes, and purifying the body with sweat. 'I think any type of ritual that involves movement is really good for our Fire signs, any type of intense physical activity, anything that brings out and brings into balance that powerful energy.' Further bowing to that momentum, Brown recommends Fire signs take a trip, whether it's far and wide or around the bend, to honor the Solstice. Earth signs – Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn 5 For Earth signs, going shoeless helps the body ground, while planting an herb can help wishes flourish. Harsha – Brown recommends that Earth signs get their feet on the ground and their hands in the dirt. 'For Earth elements, take a meditative barefoot walk, go to a botanical garden, or any type of intentional outdoor activity.' She notes that going shoeless helps ground the body, while planting an herb can help wishes flourish. 'I love the idea of using plant magic to align your solstice intentions. Whether your space is big or small, a potted plant like basil is easy to grow.' Brown notes that basil is traditionally associated with prosperity and abundance, making it ideal for Earth signs looking to cultivate financial freedom in the coming months. Dirt rich and pockets deep, if you will. As Earth signs go hard for earthly delights, Brown recommends hosting a solstice dinner that brings the bounty to the table: 'Offer really good, local food that is physically nourishing and contributes to your community.' Air signs – Gemini, Libra, Aquarius 5 More heads in the clouds than feet on the earth, Brown says the Solstice is a fine time for air signs to practice grounding rituals. tntk – Brown urges Air signs to follow the winding trail of their curiosity and obey the command to commune. 'If there's anything workshop-y you're interested in or a course you want to take, go for it. Proactively signing up for this kind of work will be super important for you moving forward. If there's a charity or political cause that interests you, now would be a really good time to intentionally engage with those outlets and to come together in community.' More heads in the clouds than feet on the earth, Brown says the Solstice is a fine time for Air signs to practice grounding rituals. 'To be a divine channel, you have to be rooted. Think of yourself as a tree; you have the branches and conduits to the heavens, but you're tethered to roots to bring all that down into a tangible form. If you ground your connection, you can go even deeper. Otherwise, that energy gets really scattered and it doesn't create and it cannot build.' Brown recommends experimenting with grounding crystals or a crystal grid or meditation, practices that aid Air signs in holding space and transcending from the cerebral to the embodied. Water signs – Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces 5 Bashkatov – Brown recommends that Water signs go beyond the typically prescribed ritual bath to find a more transcendent experience. 'How can water be not just relaxing but jarring and revelatory? I love the idea of using this element in different sensory ways. Try a cold plunge or a weightless tank. There's nothing wrong with taking a ritualistic bath, but it's the Solstice, a time to invest in something different and invite the opportunity to shock the system into awakening.' Brown also suggests that Water signs dive into traditional and nontraditional healing or esoteric practices. 'This is the element that can really go there: breath work, past life regression, hypnotherapy, palmistry, ayahuasca, shamanism. You pick the modality, but really challenge yourself to try something out of your comfort zone to see what that deep inner work could look like.'
