Oasis fans fume at latest ticket update - 'It's a massive let down'
Oasis Live 25 ticket anger as thousands miss out on front standing spots
Thousands of Oasis fans have been left disappointed after learning they won't be anywhere near the front at the band's Heaton Park gigs.
After the struggle to land tickets in the first place, Ticketmaster announced on May 23 plans to split the crowd for safety reasons. A total of around 80,000 people will watch Noel and Liam Gallagher each night. Now fans who opted into the draw have found out if they have won a spot in 'front standing' or are 'general admission'.
Last night on June 17 fans got emails back telling them the good or bad news. And whilst some people were happy, the majority of course could not be accommodated and some were upset or disappointed.
Sarah Rowe messaged Ticketmaster on twitter and said: 'There's lots of angry fans regarding Oasis front/ general admission allocations for Heaton Park - what is the capacity for front standing? And should this have been on the tickets prior to purchasing?'
Another disappointed fan wrote: "General admission for the nights of 11th and 16th. Definitely a let down.'
Oasis play Heaton Park on Friday 11th, Saturday 12th, Wednesday 16th, Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of July.
Explaining the decision, Ticketsmaster previously said in an email: "The Safety Advisory Group for the Heaton Park shows have divided the concert arena into two areas: a general admission area and a front standing area each with a dedicated ticket and entry gate issued in advance. This is to ensure fan safety and improve the fan experience whilst entering the site.'
It is unclear exactly how big the front standing area is and the capacity, but the Mirror has contact the tour organisers to try to find out.
Liam Gallagher tried to calm fans and their reactions on X, formerly twitter. When one fan called Cesca moaned she was 'stuck at the back' and wanted to be sure his 'biblical vibes' would be projected that far, Liam replied: 'Oh they'll be all around.'
Another fan then joined the conversation and was less impressed. David Smith said 'They've f**ked it. Whatever happened to first come, first served idea we used safely for years.'
Oasis began their rehearsals on May 20 with the first sessions being without Liam who was resting his voice. Noel Gallagher was pictured alongside Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and new drummer Joey Waronker.
In April Noel broke his silence in a new book to talk about the Oasis Live 25 tour.
On the demand for tickets, Noel told photographer Kevin Cummins: "I thought it'd be a big deal, but I was a bit taken aback by just how much of a big deal it was.'
Liam then joined rehearsals with the rest of Oasis on June 3 and at the time Liam told fans he was feeling 'biblical' about being back with brother Noel performing for the first time in 16 years.
Earlier this year Noel was quizzed to name his favourite Oasis song but replied: "Can I have more than one? Supersonic, Some Might Say, Live Forever and Rock'n'Roll Star."
The UK shows will also feature special guests Richard Ashcroft and Cast, who are friends with the band. The full list of tour dates are:

Everyone will be trying to get a train from Haymarket, and it'll be f***ing mobbed. "Head to Waverly (either via tram or just walk) and get on the train there, it'll be significantly quieter, and you'll likely get a table seat as well, rather than being stuck standing." Recent performances at Murrayfield include a show from Robbie Williams who kicked off his BRIT POP world tour in Edinburgh at the end of last month. One user who attended the Rock DJ star's gig replied to the thread with an alternative solution for getting home which Oasis fans might find handy. They wrote: "We were at Robbie Williams on Saturday and Citylink buses were pretty decent. "Drop you right outside the stadium and pick you up just a little bit further away be prepared for a bit of wait though because it's busy. "So the concert finished at 10:30 and we were on the bus by about 11:30. Another user chimed in: "The buses run 24 hours between Glasgow and Edinburgh. I don't think it will be that bad trying to get home via public transport." Someone else replied to this suggestion, stating: "Make sure to book the CityLink 900 and AIR buses ahead of time, they fill up quickly." Yet another person advised to take a similar route as they said: "Citylink run all night. Happy Bus run private coach transfers from Buchanan to the event and back." One other user has come up with their own unique way of making sure you make the bus as they penned: "Head to a club till you're completely knackered then head for a bus (they run 24/7 as previously mentioned). By that time most folk will have f***ed off already." Oasis are set to play three shows this summer at Murrayfield Stadium on August 8, 9 and 12.
