Rumors swirled on the internet, suggesting singer-songwriter Dierks Bentley would be featured in Survivor 49. However, Probst shot down the rumor in a TVLine interview. He said that he and the creatives had reached out to Bentley, who admitted interest in doing Survivor 'one day,' but 'not right now.'
Probst promised a 'unique' season for fans in an Entertainment Weekly interview. He also offered a gist of what viewers can expect from the castaways this season and the challenges they'll be facing.
Probst shared, 'This is a very likable and quirky group of players that are going to encounter a Fijian summer so sweltering it feels like the jungle is breathing on you.'
Survivor 49's filming location is the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji, according to Parade Magazine.
The Mamanuca Islands are one of Fiji's most popular tourist destinations.
Survivor 49 could come out sometime by the end of 2025.

The way Roumie served up this part of the Last Supper, you could feel Jesus' intent to not only prepare his followers for what is to come, but a certain excitement to speak plainly and not 'in figures of speech.' Pivoting away from this opening, eight-minute segment, we picked up where Season 4 left off, with Jesus' entry into Jerusalem. Roumie's expression whilst seated upon a donkey could only be described as beatific. As the crowds sang 'Hosanna to the Son of David!,' you had to feel chills. A beat later, though, when Jesus was overcome with a rare bout of anxiety — 'seeing' blood seeping through the walls of Jerusalem, clutching his chest — the chills were of a different kind. 'Father, save me from this hour,' he said, triggering a thunderclap that barely masked the words, 'I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.' Capping Roumie's moving performance, we witnessed a low-key Jesus, 'out for a walk,' happen upon and join in the revelry of a betrothal ceremony. Upon being identified, he deflected the attention, but graced the couple with his blessing. In a subsequent scene, Jesus wept (as they say) as he looked out over the plaza and 'saw' the fiery fate that would eventually befall Jerusalem. '[Your enemies] will not leave one stone upon another in you,' he lamented, 'because you did not know the time of your visitation.' Scroll down to see who got Honorable Mention shout-outs this week… Aras Aydin's Matteo wasn't the only Nine Perfect Strangers character to have an emotional breakthrough during Episode 6, but his was easily the most affecting, thanks to Aydin's soul-baring performance. When Matteo's therapy session with Masha took an unexpected turn, and he revealed he didn't want to stop grieving his late family members, Aydin communicated a palpable mix of heartache and hope while hardly raising his voice above a whisper. 'I'm a boy who was loved and lost this love. The thing that everyone fears most in their life, and it's happened to me. So yes, there is pain,' Matteo admitted, Aydin's eyes wide and tearful. 'But there is no fear of loss, because I've already lost. So I can have nothing to fear.' Aydin colored his character's words with such profound sincerity that we were as moved as Masha was by the time his monologue was over — and when she later called Matteo's therapy session 'perfect,' we couldn't have agreed more. — Rebecca Luther Leighton Meester had us wrapped around her finger from the moment she uttered 'Nice hat' with the perfect blend of swagger and wit in The Buccaneers Season 2 premiere. As Nelle, Meester went on to masterfully deliver plenty of other piercing lines, particularly during her character's confrontation with Patti. As Nelle read her sister for filth — 'Oh… you're fed up. Is that it? You're bored?' — Meester made sure the words were charged with plenty of subtext. She feigned compassion with a nod of the head during her sister's admission, before swatting away Patti's claims of newfound independence with a brush of the hand and a sneering accusation of boredom that hung between them with all the weight that Meester had so purposefully given it. Setting her sights on that ultimate New York City prize — a cheap rent-controlled apartment — Kate wooed retired professor Anne to get her hands on the lease, with a smiling Shawkat laying down a barrage of phony love-bombing. But Kate needed to get Anne's granddaughter out of the way first, and Shawkat was downright frightening as Kate plotted to knock her off in secret. When Charlie got on the case, Kate even tried to woo her, too, and Shawkat nimbly toggled between seductress and killer before finally getting caught. Mike White Is Going on ‘Survivor 50' Because It's 'What I Have to Do to Get a Vacation These Days'
At an Emmys FYC event for The White Lotus on Tuesday, creator Mike White made a special video appearance en route to his next gig — competing on Survivor's milestone 50th season. White — who previously competed on the show in 2018 during its 'David vs. Goliath' season, coming in second place — said via video message that he was on his way to 'a hotel near the airport where I have to turn in my phone and stay the night before I fly to Fiji, because I don't know if you know this but I'm going on Survivor. So by the time you see this I will either be out of the game or I'll be starving on an island somewhere — either way, I hope you send me good wishes.' During the main event, the super-sized cast was split into two panels, both moderated by Hacks' Paul W. Downs. The first featured Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Carrie Coon, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Sam Nivola and Sarah Catherine Hook, as Downs teased, 'In the four years The White Lotus has been on the air, it has spanned three continents and four HBO names — pretty remarkable stuff.' The cast talked about their collaborations with White and fears going into the show, as Isaacs noted he was worried that his pill-popping head of the Ratliff family 'might just sit there in the corner and look like an extra from Cheech & Chong. I'm chugging these pills — I know what's gonna be going on inside my head, I'll think it all and I'll feel it all, but I just don't know if the audience gonna get any of it.' It was also revealed that Posey and Bibb still haven't watched the show, as the group weighed in on how their lives have changed since the third season premiered. 'I really have to think about what I'm wearing and what I'm saying in public,' Coon said, noting, 'Now when I go to the grocery store, people will be like, 'Great job last night.' I was like, oh no, that's not happened to me before. [But] it peaks when the show is on, then it kind of goes down — for me, maybe not for Parker.' Nivola said he's enjoying the perks of now 'every time I get Thai food, free mango sticky rice,' as Coon admitted, 'My parents still haven't mentioned it. I think they watched it, but they haven't said anything.' Natasha Rothwell, Sam Rockwell, Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Tayme Thapthimthong took part in the second panel, with Rockwell and Goggins breaking down their scenes together. 'Was he on drugs when he wrote that?' Rockwell teased of White writing his character's wild monologue, as well as the 'extraordinary thing to act with a close friend' when it came to his longtime relationship with Goggins. 'I didn't want to let Sam down. This is my hero. I got Bob Duvall, I got like Tommy Lee Jones, I got Chris Cooper and I got Sam Rockwell,' Goggins told the crowd, as Rockwell took out his wallet and threw him a few bucks. Goggins then realized it was only $3 and joked, 'You think I'm that cheap?!' Goggins also explained that his interpretation of his character Rick's 'parable is in the depths of our despair, there's always beauty around us, always. And I think about that in my own life, I think that's what's changed me most — all of these people in Thailand and getting to work with Mike White, but that reminder that, like fuck, I can't deal with what's going on in my life right now. Yeah, you can, man, just focus on what's beautiful in your life. And it was one of the greatest rides of my life.'
