Milan to Wait for Modric, Search For More Midfield Help
Luka Modric has committed to joining Milan, but he'll put pen to paper only after the FIFA Club World Cup, which he'll play with Real Madrid. The Rossoneri won't stop there to replenish their midfield, which has lost Tijjani Reijnders, Alfredo Pedullà informs.
New director Igli Tare is targeting Granit Xhaka and Ardon Jashari. The former is open to the destination and to transferring in general, but it'll depend on Bayer Leverkusen's evaluation. He's 33 and has three more years on his contract.

Instead, the Club Brugge prodigy has a €35M valuation, which might be too high for Milan. He tallied 4 goals and 6 assists in 52 matches in the recently concluded season. He has four caps with Switzerland. The Belgian team signed him from Luzern for €6M two years ago.
In the other direction, the negotiation with Napoli for Yunus Musah has slowed down after the early momentum. The Rossoneri upped their request, but it's still on. Instead, Lazio are keen on Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who thrived under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. He could be expendable under the right circumstances.
Our Take on the Milan Midfield
If they get the chance to sign a proven leader like Xhaka for cheap, they should go for it, but they should stop at one veteran to avoid dynamism and stamina-related problems. The best version of the Englishman would be an ideal piece to complete their new line, but he's coming off a hellish campaign from an injury standpoint, so they might have soured on him. They should look for somebody with similar traits, but younger and more consistent. They shouldn't miss out on selling Musah for a couple of extra million.

Kentucky Reacts to Jasper Johnson Announcement on Friday
Kentucky Reacts to Jasper Johnson Announcement on Friday originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Mark Pope-coached Kentucky Wildcats celebrated one of their incoming freshman's latest achievements. Four-star guard Jasper Johnson was selected to play for the U19 USA men's basketball team, which will compete in the FIBA U19 Men's World Cup from June 28 to July 6 in Lausanne, Switzerland. Advertisement 'Congratulations, @BruhJasperJ on being selected for the @usabasketball U19 National Team,' Kentucky posted on its X account Friday. Johnson will join a 12-man final roster selected by the USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team Committee, according to On3 writer Chris Fisher. The Versailles, Kentucky, native out of the Overtime Elite program will join a roster composed of fellow finalists Caleb Holt, Brandon McCoy Jr., Jordan Smith and Tyran Stokes. Kentucky freshman center Malachi Moreno also took part in the camp alongside Pope, who served as an assistant coach during the national team's camp. The U19 team is led by Arizona Wildcats head coach Tommy Lloyd and Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland, who will work as his assistant coach alongside Notre Dame's Micah Shrewsberry. Advertisement Johnson's scoring ability impressed scouts throughout camp in Colorado Springs. 'He put on a show on Monday morning, not just with his shooting, but with his total scoring,' 247Sports Director of Scouting Adam Finkelstein wrote. 'There were tough angled finishes at the rim and high-arching pull-ups alike.' He is also considered a very talented mid-range shooter who can score very well by using a vast array of floaters and layups. At 6-foot-4 and 175 pounds, he should pair up well alongside fellow guards Holt and Smith once the World Cup begins next weekend. Potential record deal puts Elliott's name back in the headlines as Albion are linked
Harvey Elliott, pictured with Yasin Ayari, could be on the move (Image: Simon Dack) Harvey Elliott's name is being linked with Albion again – after Liverpool clinched a record deal. The champions' move for Florian Wirtz will set them back an initial £100 million. That will become a British record £116 million if various clauses are met. Advertisement It also appears to affect Elliott's potential to play significant minutes for the Reds. Albion were believed to be interested in Elliott during the January transfer window and probably before that. That might at least partly explain why The Sun report him to be of interest to the Seagulls in the current window. He would command a sizeable fee and comes with some uncertainty over what he can produce in the Premier League on a consistent basis. But Elliott, who is currently with England under-21s at the Euros, has shown plenty of promise. He scored for Liverpool at the Amex towards the end of the season. Advertisement There is no suggestion that Albion have bid for Elliott but there is a theory the presence of his former Anfield mentor James Milner could help persuade the 22-year-old to move. Albion have an array of options in attacking midfield areas but plenty of outward activity is expected during the summer transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano confirms Serie A club Como 'have tried to sign' Man United's Antony 'in recent days'
Serie A outfit Serie A have made an attempt to sign Manchester United winger Antony over the past few days, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed. Antony failed to live up to the massive £86m fee United forked out to secure his services from Ajax in the summer of 2022. Advertisement He registered only 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances for the Red Devils, but a short loan stint with Real Betis in Spain seems to have reignited his form. Antony enjoyed a dramatic improvement in fortunes under Manuel Pellegrini, notching 14 goals contributions in 26 appearances – just five shy of his entire United tally in nearly a quarter of the time. The Brazilian has made no secret of his desire to continue with Betis, who are also working to try and agree a deal with United. Such is Antony's eagerness to return to Seville that he is reportedly willing to accept a 30% pay cut to make the move happen. Advertisement But Los Verdiblancos are not the only club eyeing Antony. He has also been linked to Juventus, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid. A report covered by The Peoples Person earlier this week relayed that Antony is also of interest to Premier League teams, with Brentford and Aston Villa having enquired about the conditions of a transfer. But, they were told that his top priority is Betis. Now, Romano has revealed that a new club has entered the fray for the 25-year-old, Como. Romano wrote on X, 'Italian side Como have tried to sign Antony in the recent days but Brazilian winger is giving priority to Real Betis return.' Advertisement 'Man United are also aware of Antony's preference to continue at Betis next season, no club to club agreement yet.' If United are unable to strike a compromise with Betis, then the Red Devils can rest assured that there will be no shortage of suitors for the forward. Antony is not thought to have a future at Old Trafford. There have even been suggestions that Ruben Amorim will not include him in the club's pre-season squad.
