Worried About Pollen? Follow These Easy Tips For Low-Allergen Landscaping

Yahoo20-04-2025

Looking for relief from allergies when landscaping may seem impossible, but we're here to tell you: It's not.
When giving a talk at Google, expert horticulturist Thomas Leo Ogren explained what it was like trying to find a book about allergy-free gardening, 'The first librarian I asked about it was at a university. And she laughed. I said, 'What's so funny?' And she said, 'Well, it's the gardens that cause all the allergies.''
Indeed, stepping into a garden can be a minefield for anyone suffering from allergies. Springtime brings an abundance of airborne pollen from trees, which overproduce because they rely on the wind, not insects, to carry their pollen. Tall grasses, especially when covering wide lawns, can produce overwhelming pollen in the summer. Flowers, though beautiful to look at, can leave us sniffing and sneezing for weeks.
Ogren eventually developed a system called OPALS, or Ogren Plant Allergy Scale, to measure the allergy potential of plants used in landscapes and gardens. His research, including an allergy-ranking of 3,000 plants, is published in The Allergy-Fighting Garden. Ogren, and other horticulturists like him, have learned that there are steps that any gardener can take to create a low-allergen landscape in their yard.
When landscaping, gardeners should plant female trees over their male counterparts. That's because male trees produce pollen, while female trees produce fruit and seeds. Conventional wisdom in the landscaping industry has led to the popularity of planting male trees, which are seen as less messy because they don't create unwanted fruit. But for those with allergies, springtime pollen from male trees can be a much bigger problem.

A low-allergen landscaper should be picky when it comes to planting flower beds. Open-faced and disk-shaped cone flowers, like daisies and sunflowers, produce the most airborne pollen. On the other hand, bright and tubular flowers, including daffodils and snapdragons, encourage pollinator insects to carry their pollen rather than sending it out into the wind.
Nothing stirs up pollen and dust in the garden like running a lawn mower, but tall grasses are a major contributor to pollen counts. For gardeners caught in between these two allergen triggers, hiring a lawn maintenance service to do mowing, edging, and blowing might be the best approach.
Pollen counts often hit their peak in the sunny hours of morning and midday. A savvy gardener might save their landscaping and lawn work for the cool hours of twilight and early evening, when less allergens are circulating in the air.

Miami and Broward plastic surgeon blamed by state for a butt lift death

The death of a Brazilian butt lift patient brought a state complaint against a board certified plastic surgeon who works out of Miami and Plantation. Baotram Tran's address on her Florida medical license, 10167 W. Sunrise Blvd., is Tran Plastic Surgery in Plantation. of a West Sunrise Boulevard office in Plantation and Google brings up a Miami office on 2601 SW 37th Ave., across the street from Coral Gables Hospital. But, the administrative complaint says the surgery happened at Professional Plastic Surgery, 2299 SW 37th Ave. Administrative complaints start the discipline process, which can end with anything from the doctor being cleared to punishment from the state Board of Medicine. According to the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Tran has been board certified since Nov. 11, 2018. Tran's been licensed in Florida since Aug. 4, 2016. She has no previous disciplinary actions on her record. Tran didn't answer a message left for her at her Plantation office. The complaint says a 41-year-old woman went to Professional Plastic Surgery on Mar. 18, 2022 for a gluteal fat grafting, the medical term for a Brazilian butt lift (BBL); breast augmentation; and liposuction of her back, sides and abdomen. She would be dead by 6 p.m. that evening. 'During the gluteal fat grafting (BBL), [Tran] injected fat into (the patient's) gluteal musculature,' the complaint said. 'After surgery, while in the recovery room, (the patient) complained of being short of breath and then became unresponsive.' The woman was taken to Mercy Hospital. She died at 5:34 p.m. During a BBL, which is a form of liposuction, fat is sucked from the abdomen area and injected into the butt area. Florida administrative code prohibits injection into glute muscles because it increases the chances of a fatal pulmonary embolism. The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner's autopsy, the complaint said, described a main pulmonary artery as 'blocked by a 5 cm fragment of material which resembled fat. [Tran] knew, or should have known, that injecting fat musculature was strictly prohibited.'

‘There's a baby in there. But it's dead:' mom shares horrific story

'Oh my god, you're pregnant.' The nurse had whispered it like a revelation. As if she had been delivering good news. But all Ash could do was blink at her. She had to once again recount her nightmare: 'That's literally the whole reason I'm here… There's a baby in there. But it's dead.' 3 'There's a baby in there. But it's dead,' a woman named Ash shared about her health issues. kidspot 'It could have been life-threatening' Ash had just completed a routine urine test ahead of surgery, which had flagged high hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) levels. Weeks beforehand, The Gold Coast mom terminated her pregnancy after the embryo implanted in her C-section scar, left behind from her previous pregnancy. 'It would have been like life-threatening had I continued that pregnancy ' Ash revealed to Kidspot. 3 Weeks before, Ash terminated her pregnancy after the embryo implanted in her C-section scar, left behind from a previous pregnancy. Seika – The frightening list of risks she was faced with included permanent bladder damage, severe haemorrhaging and the potential need for a hysterectomy. Scar tissue doesn't stretch like the uterus does. Had the baby been left to grow with the placenta attached to her scar, the outcome could have been devastating. It is one of the rarest forms of pregnancy, so rare that many doctors hadn't had much experience with a case like hers. It meant different specialists, numerous appointments and trying to find whatever information she could online. She turned to Google, Facebook groups and TikTok to find others who had experienced the same thing. 'I tried every possible like hashtag like 'cesarean scar', 'c-section defect.' I tried all of them,' she revealed. 'It's crazy that as women, we don't even know our own bodies and how things can work. It's just… it's crazy.' Originally, after terminating her pregnancy, doctors were keen to wait for her body to absorb and pass the pregnancy. The doctors treated her with methotrexate. Only they didn't foresee the complications. Ash was in and out of emergency rooms, consistently begging doctors to do something to help. 'That led to like a cascade of months of like emergency trips to the hospital where I was having haemorrhaging bleeds and intense pain,' she said. 'I'd get to the emergency and then they would say there's nothing that we can do. You've just got to wait for this to be absorbed by your body.' The mental toll of waiting became too much. 'I snapped one day' she admitted. 'How many more emergency trips to the hospital am I going to have to go through?' 'My bladder was fully adhered to my caesarean scar defect' Throughout this process, Ash repeatedly asked for other options. She'd asked doctors to perform a D&C (dilatation and curettage). 'They're like no you can't have a D&C due to the location of the pregnancy,' she recounted. Doctors were concerned it could lead to a rupture of her uterus. After months of complications, pain, and being medically gaslit, a private surgeon in Brisbane performed a robot-assisted laparoscopic resection of her uterus. 'They cut open the uterus. He took out the old pregnancy,' she explained. 3 'It's crazy that as women, we don't even know our own bodies and how things can work. It's just… it's crazy,' Ash said. kidspot But he found something else. 'My bladder was like fully adhered to my caesarean scar defect on the outside of my uterus,' Ash revealed. 'He said it was like folded like a concertina three times and attached.' It explained so much. 'I just thought, no wonder I could never fully empty my bladder after giving birth,' she said. For Ash, it explained symptoms she had ignored for years. 'So I remember asking him 'So is this the reason why that like I could never fully empty my bladder?'' she said. 'Since the surgery my bladder has been performing like normal. Like pre-children.' 'No one's talking about this' More and more mothers are experiencing chapters of her story, and in some cases some mothers replicate her experience. 'That's what made me want to share on TikTok. The amount of women that have come into my inbox and say 'I had this, I never even knew',' Ash revealed. 'We don't even know our own bodies, because no one's talking about this.' And through all of it, one thing kept her going. Her son. 'I kept thinking, 'I have to be okay. I have to be here for him,'' she said. ' As much as I wanted this baby, I already had a little boy who needed his mum.' The door isn't closed to more children, but the risks are now clear. 'I am allowed to try again after the three month mark,' Ash said. 'But there's a chance it could be an ectopic again.' Any new pregnancy would be high-risk and require close monitoring and early delivery by repeat caesarean. 'I don't know if I'm brave enough to risk it,' she admitted. 'I want another baby… but I also want to stay alive for the one I already have.'

Have You Seriously Considered The Option Of Orale Steroïden?

Steroid tablets may cause side-effects if taken for an extended period, such as osteoporosis and weight gain. You can minimize these side effects by taking calcium and vitamin D supplements, exercising regularly and refraining from smoking. Always carry with you a red or blue steroid emergency card provided by the person prescribing or dispensing your medicine, which outlines your dosage and medical condition to healthcare providers. Trustworthiness Online purchasing of steroids offers convenience, yet also poses certain risks to buyers' health and legal repercussions. Furthermore, counterfeit or unregulated products could be purchased. Therefore, buyers should ensure their vendors are legitimate by doing a detailed investigation and reviewing customer feedback as well as looking for professional website designs, secure payment options and transparent shipping policies from them. Steroids are powerful substances that can dramatically change how the body functions if taken under medical guidance and with other substances. If taken alone or taken by people not familiar with them, however, steroids can be potentially lethal. Google-owned YouTube and Facebook make it easy for potential steroid users to obtain appearance and performance-enhancing drugs (APEDs) without prescriptions, with searches for specific names of APEDs leading to videos providing contact details and instructions on purchasing them; other searches pointed towards bodybuilding or fitness model websites hosting content about steroids containing relevant terms relating to them. In addition, most websites did not present accurate information about use or risks and declined legal responsibility when selling illegal substances – all making life easy for steroid buyers. Customer service Purchase of steroids online requires taking into consideration several aspects to ensure its legality and safety, such as regional regulations, product authenticity and effectiveness, payment security measures and shipping policies. Users also often evaluate customer service by testing responsiveness and helpfulness of support teams. Steroids may be illegally used to enhance athletic performance, such as marathon running or swimming. Unfortunately, long-term or high dose use of these substances can have adverse side effects; to ensure safety it's important to consult a doctor first when considering taking steroids. As mentioned previously, steroids may interact with certain medicines, increasing your risk of side-effects. This is particularly relevant if taken in combination with NSAIDs that cause stomach ulcers; additionally, steroids can make you less sensitive to pain – this could pose problems if recovering from surgery or experiencing injury and this could result in serious health complications if left unchecked. Payment options Steroids may help treat flare-ups of rheumatoid arthritis, lupus or gout. Steroids can be taken in various forms; from tablets to liquids or creams or injections. Some individuals experience side effects from taking steroids; usually mild and they subside once treatment stops; this is more likely to happen when dosage levels are increased or taken for extended periods. Your treating provider will monitor your symptoms closely and may adjust dosage if symptoms worsen over time. Steroid tablets often cause more side effects than creams or injections because they enter the bloodstream, where they can have widespread impact. Steroid tablets may lead to weight gain and increased appetite; increase infection risks; raise pre-diabetes risks and bolster diabetes or pre-diabetes risks; slow growth rates among children or teenagers and require periodic height checks for those taking them; these adverse reactions must all be carefully considered before choosing which form of treatment would work best. Some individuals combine multiple anabolic steroids together, or 'stack', in order to enhance their effects. Others may 'pyramid' their use by gradually increasing doses over a period of time before stopping for a time so their bodies can recover. Product availability Steroids are powerful tools that can help increase muscle mass, boost strength, and enhance performance. But to avoid unwanted side effects and legal complications, orale steroïden must only be purchased from reliable licensed providers like myroidshop1 net/nl/. Steroids carry potential side effects and may even be illegal in certain countries, making it essential to understand the various legal implications when purchasing online. Doing your research thoroughly on this subject will enable you to make wiser purchase decisions while avoiding potential legal ramifications. Dianabol, Clenbuterol and Trenbolone are among the most widely available anabolic steroids on the market. All three compounds are known to accelerate muscle growth and fat loss and can be found in high doses on the market. Be wary of untrustworthy suppliers who sell counterfeit or substandard steroids that could pose health risks to users. TIME BUSINESS NEWS
