Drowning incident claims two lives in South Al Batinah

Muscat: In a tragic incident, two individuals drowned in Wadi Al Hawqain in Rustaq, South Al Batinah Governorate, and their bodies have been recovered, said the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).
CDAA confirmed that rescue teams responded to the incident. In response. CDAA urges the public to avoid swimming in undesignated areas to prevent future tragedies.

Severe offences, such as driving under the influence (DUI), carry harsher penalties, if the DUI causes death or permanent total disability, penalties including multi-year jail terms and fines of up to OMR3,000. By adhering to these regulations, drivers not only avoid legal consequences but also contribute to safer roads for all. Vehicles may be impounded, and licenses revoked for violations such as expired registration or illegal modifications. Always renew licenses on time, follow police instructions, and ensure vehicles meet safety standards. These rules protect everyone on Oman's roads, the expert said. Oman Customs foils cigarette smuggling attempt

Muscat: Oman Customs has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle restricted quantities of cigarettes and e-shisha into the Sultanate of Oman by two expatriates. Oman Customs stated: "Hafeet Customs thwarted an attempt by two Indian nationals to smuggle restricted quantities of cigarettes and e-shisha, in addition to more than 600 packs of tobacco derivatives, which were expertly hidden in the compartments of their vehicle. Expats arrested for human trafficking and public morals violations in Muscat

Muscat : The Royal Oman Police (ROP), has arrested three foreigners for human trafficking in Muscat Governorate. ROP said in a statement :"Muscat Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Special Taskforce Police Command, arrested three individuals, including a citizen and two Egyptian nationals, on charges of human trafficking." Meanwhile, the ROP arrested 21 Egyptian women, ten Iranian women, eight Pakistani women, four Thai women, two Uzbek women, and two Moroccan women were arrested for engaging in acts contrary to public morals and decency. Legal procedures are being completed.
