Texas 5-star QB commit Dia Bell Dia Bell gets rare opportunity to showcase his skills Longhorns commit Dia Bell will spend his summer competing against the best QBs in his class
Texas commitment Dia Bell is no stranger to making headlines. That continued on Saturday when he was invited to this year's Elite 11 Final. Bell will get to spend a few days this summer in Los Angeles, competing against the other ten best quarterbacks in his class.
For the Longhorns, Bell's latest honor comes as no surprise. The five-star recruit is ranked as the third-best quarterback in his class and the No. 1 player from Florida, according to 247Sports. He committed to the Longhorns last summer and has not changed his mind despite receiving offers from other schools.
Recently, Bell reaffirmed that Texas is where his focus is. During an interview with ON3.com's Steve Wiltfong, Bell revealed that he does not intend to take visits to any other school. He will be in Austin on June 20th for an official visit.
This summer, fans nationwide will get to see how bright the future is as Bell shows off his skills at the Elite 11 Final. During the three-day event, Bell will get one-on-one quarterback instruction in a competitive environment. It will also consist of on-field drills, competition, classroom instruction, and off-field development. For one of the best players in the 2026 class, it will be a chance to get even better.
Additionally, a 2025 Elite 11 MVP will be named at the end of the event. While it would be a nice honor for Bell to leave Los Angeles with some hardware, his focus will be on taking everything in. While there are only a few players in the country with his talent, Bell is not turning down any chances to get an edge.
As Bell prepares for this unique event, he is coming off a very productive year. Last season, the Fort Lauderdale native threw for 2,597 yards and 29 touchdowns. He also did an excellent job of caring for the football, only throwing six interceptions. Now, he will have a chance to shine on the national stage.

Alabama Lands Commitment From 6-Foot-10 Center
Alabama Lands Commitment From 6-Foot-10 Center originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Head coach Nate Oats and the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball program from the top rope on Friday night. According to Travis Branham of 247Sports, four-star center Collins Onyejiaka has committed to Alabama. Alabama head coach Nate Oats.© Andrew Nelles / The Tennessean / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images A fringe top 100 recruit in the class of 2026, Onyejiaka's commitment comes with a reclassification. Instead, he will join the Crimson Tide in 2025, fresh off an Elite 8 showing. Advertisement This offseason, Alabama took to the transfer portal in hopes of replacing center Clifford Omoruyi. Oats and Company came away with Patriot League Player of the Year, Noah Williamson. The seven-foot center scored 17.6 points per game for the Bucknell Bison. The addition of Onyejiaka will give Alabama options outside Williamson. Alongside Onyejiaka and Williamson, six-foot-eleven sophomore Aiden Sherrell will likely also be in the mix after scoring just 3.4 points per game as a first-year player in 2024. Nevertheless, Alabama fans should temper expectations for Onyejiaka as a true freshman. Adam Finkelstein, the director of scouting for 247Sports, says, "He misses a surprising amount of dunks for someone so physically dominant, isn't much of a scoring threat on the perimeter, and can lack solutions when not able to overpower the opposition." Advertisement However, he does earn high praise as a post-defender and rim protector. He could find himself in the mix as a defensive anchor, especially with the war chest of offensive talent at the disposal of Oats. Alabama returns Latrell Wrightsell Jr., Labaron Philon, and Houston Mallette next season. Wrightsell Jr. is the most notable after scoring 11.5 points per game last year before suffering a season-ending injury. Miami Hurricanes pick up commitment from Orlando linebacker who had 10 sacks last season
The Miami Hurricanes on Saturday picked up a public commitment from Orlando Edgewater linebacker Justin Edwards, who had been a Rutgers commitment until flipping to UM quietly earlier in the week. Edwards, who had been committed to Rutgers for just 13 days, joins Miami Northwestern's Jordan Campbell as the second linebacker commitment and 14th overall commitment in UM's 2026 class. The 6-1, 205-pound Edwards had 52 tackles, including 15 for loss, 10 sacks and three forced fumbles last season. He has been timed at 4.57 in the 40-yard dash. Edwards, who is a former safety, visited UM last weekend. 247 Sports rates him the nation's 23rd best linebacker, while rates him 52nd among linebackers. His 20-plus offers also included Syracuse, Missouri and Mississippi. 'We went to coach Mario Cristobal's house [during his home visit] and being around everybody, seeing how he treated everybody, they're like a good family down there,' Edwards told adding that he informed UM on Tuesday that he was flipping to Miami. UM also could be in line to add several other commitments in the weeks ahead. 247 Sports predicts UM will add receiver Tyran Evans, who attends Hough High in Cornelius, North Carolina, raved about his visit to UM's campus last week and de-committed from the Tennessee Volunteers less than 72 hours later. Evans, who also visited Kentucky and North Carolina State, averaged 27 yards per reception last season, catching 36 passes for 980 yards and 14 touchdowns. UM also is firmly in the mix for its top tight end target, UM's top target is Visalia (California) Redwood's Israel Briggs, who is rated by 247 as the nation's No. 6 tight end and No. 70 prospect overall for 2026. He visited UM for the third time last weekend and plans to choose between UM and LSU. The Canes hosted several 2026 recruits this weekend before an extensive dead period begins. UM's 2026 class, which now has 14 non-binding commitments, is rated ninth by On.3com and eighth by 247 Sports.

Oregon Football QB target Bryson Beaver named biggest stock-riser at Elite 11 Finals
The Oregon Ducks are working hard in the recruiting world when it comes to the quarterback position, pushing hard on a pair of prospects in the 2026 class: 5-star Ryder Lyons and 4-star Bryson Beaver. The former is a highly-touted prospect who the Ducks are going to have to try hard to win away from the BYU Cougars when he announces his commitment in a few days. However, Oregon got in early on the latter with an offer before his recruitment started to take off a couple of weeks ago, and it appears that it is paying off. Beaver participated in the Elite 11 Finals this past week down in Los Angeles and was named the No. 3 performer in what is being described as one of the best crops of QBs the camp has seen in quite some time. On top of that, On3 has now declared that Beaver is the biggest stock-riser from the bunch, with the distinction of "strongest arm" coming out of the camp. "Beaver looked like one of the more talented prospects on hand," On3's Charles Power writes. "We felt his arm took a backseat to nobody in attendance. The Southern California native has explosive arm power that effortlessly delivers from multiple slots and platforms. ... Currently a four-star prospect for On3, Beaver is primed to debut inside the inaugural Rivals300 ranking in July." It's been quite an eventful two weeks for Beaver in the recruiting world. Rated a three-star commit to the Boise State Broncos over a week ago, Beaver has since seen his rating rise to a four-star after being offered by the Ducks. He has taken a couple of visits to SEC schools after receiving offers from the Ole Miss Rebels and Alabama Crimson Tide. He is also in Eugene this weekend for an official visit, and is now predicted to land with the Ducks according to a new Crystal Ball prediction from 247Sports' Blair Angulo. The Ducks are also hosting 4-star QB Matt Ponatoski on a visit this weekend, with the expectation that they likely will be getting a commitment from one of them. At the moment, there is a belief that Ponatoski could get selected in the MLB draft as a top high school prospect this summer, which might lead to him never taking a snap in college football. That may lead to the Ducks prioritizing Beaver, who is among the fastest-rising QB prospects in the nation.
