Telangana assembly Speaker Distributes Indiramma House Proceedings in Vikarabad
The Speaker of the Telangana State Legislative Assembly and Vikarabad MLA, Shri Gaddam Prasad Kumar, has presented proceedings to 613 beneficiaries of the Indiramma House scheme at the Vikarabad MLA Camp Office. This initiative aims to provide housing for the underprivileged in both Vikarabad town and mandal.
In attendance were District Collector Prateek Jain, Additional Collector Sudhir, various public representatives, officials, and the beneficiaries themselves. The Speaker allocated a total of 359 provisions for Vikarabad town and 254 for the surrounding mandal.
During the distribution, Speaker Prasad Kumar extended his best wishes to the female beneficiaries and highlighted the legacy of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, who aimed to provide shelter for the poor. He noted that the current government, led by Chief Minister Shri Revanth Reddy, is committed to similar objectives, ensuring that Indiramma Houses are accessible to those in need.
Prasad Kumar urged beneficiaries to commence construction immediately, emphasising that funding would be transferred in four installments directly to their bank accounts, eliminating middlemen from the process. He explained the disbursement structure, which includes one lakh rupees after each significant stage of construction.
This year, the Telangana government has allocated ₹22,500 crores for the construction of 450,000 houses, with each constituency set to receive a specific quota, including 7,000 houses earmarked for Vikarabad.
The Speaker lamented the financial constraints resulting from a significant debt inherited from the previous administration, which has impeded the allocation of immediate housing solutions. He condemned the previous government's failures, which he described as a "government of words" and praised the current administration as one of action.
Highlighting various welfare schemes, he mentioned the distribution of fine rice to 90 lakh families, loan waivers for 2.5 million farmers, and free electricity for low-income households. Additionally, he reported that ₹1,000 crores would soon be disbursed to farmers in support of monsoon agriculture.
Prasad Kumar reaffirmed his commitment to developing Vikarabad, which he stated had regressed in the previous decade, and outlined ambitious plans for infrastructure, including CC road construction and the establishment of industrial parks. He also disclosed a significant investment to transform Ananthagiri into a major tourist destination.
Concluding his remarks, he warned the public against the misleading statements of the former ruling party, reinforcing the need for accountability in governance.

1,659 Indiramma house beneficiaries get papers
Warangal: The previous (BRS) government, which promised double-bedroom houses to the shelterless, failed, but the Congress is fulfilling the Indiramma Houses dream of the poor, Minister for Environment, Forests and Endowments Konda Surekha said. Distributing Indiramma House sanction proceedings to the beneficiaries on Monday, she said that the Congress Government had sanctioned 3,500 houses to each constituency, providing Rs 5 lakh in monetary assistance. In all, 20 lakh houses will be constructed for the poor. Konda Surekha said that she distributed Indiramma Houses sanction proceedings to 1,659 beneficiaries in the Warangal East constituency. The other beneficiaries would get sanction proceedings after verification. She urged the beneficiaries to complete their houses as early as possible. Greater Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani stated that all eligible beneficiaries would receive Indiramma houses, phase-wise. She hailed the Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, for introducing several welfare and developmental programmes, especially for women. Warragal district collector Satya Sharada said that they have maintained utmost transparency in implementing the Indiramma housing scheme. The Rs 5 lakh would be credited to the accounts of beneficiaries in three phases. Sand will be supplied free of cost to the beneficiaries, she said. Former MLC Konda Muralidhar Rao said that efforts are on to sanction Indiramma houses to all the eligible in the Warangal East constituency. Those living in slums would get land pattas. GWMC Commissioner Chahat Bajpai urged the Indiramma beneficiaries to ground their units within 10 days.

Indiramma houses for urban poor with G+3 model: Ponguleti
Hyderabad: Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy on Friday said that the government would take up construction of Indiramma Houses in the urban areas of the state with G+3 floors without affecting their livelihood. The Housing Minister had a review meeting with the officials on Friday. The Minister said that with the aim of fulfilling the dream of the poor to have their own house, the state government has launched the construction of Indiramma Houses which has almost ended in the rural areas. He said that the focus now has been shifted on the construction of Indiramma Houses in urban areas as well. The Minister said that he poor living in the slums of the cities prefer to stay there, as they were not interested in houses, especially if they are built far from Hyderabad, as it would affect their livelihood. In the past, 42,000 houses were built far from Hyderabad, but only about 19,000 people moved there. He said that a recent field survey revealed that only 13,000 people were living in those houses. Taking all these factors into consideration, it has been decided to construct Indiramma Indlu in urban areas, mainly in the slums of Hyderabad city, where the poor are present, using the G+3 method. As part of this, 16 slums were identified in Hyderabad in the first phase. He said that work was being done to implement the same system in other cities like Warangal, Nizamabad, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda and Karimnagar. Srinivasa Reddy said that for the tribals who have been without shelter for years, 13,266 Indiramma houses were sanctioned to Chenchu, Kolam, Thoti and Kondared in the four ITDA areas of Bhadrachalam, Utnoor, Eturunagaram and Munnanur. He also said that 8,750 houses were already sanctioned to the 16 ST constituencies in the state. With this, 22,016 Indiramma houses were sanctioned to the tribals so far. The Minister directed the officials to take steps to immediately identify the beneficiaries of these houses and start the construction. He asked the officials to continuously monitor the construction of houses in line with the government's goal of being more proactive in sanctioning and constructing Indiramma houses. He said that no state government in the country has spent Rs 5 lakh for the houses of the poor, and that the goal of this government was to construct and provide Indiramma houses to every eligible person in the state as promised in the elections, and the authorities should work accordingly.
