Kate shares adorable photo of William with new puppies to mark his 43rd birthday

The Princess of Wales has shared an adorable new photo to mark husband Prince William's birthday.
The Prince of Wales turns 43 today and to celebrate, the official Kensington Royal account posted a picture of him posing with the family dog Orla - and her new puppies.
The black cocker spaniel - gifted to the family by Kate's brother James Middleton in 2020 - recently gave birth to four puppies. The photo of William, Orla and her brood was taken by the Princess in Windsor earlier this month.
The caption reads: "Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies!"
King Charles and Queen Camilla have also wished William a happy birthday. The couple posted a photo on their official Instagram page that shows him smiling widely while sat on a rock wall.
It is not known exactly how the heir to the throne is celebrating today. Bu he will surely be swapping any work matters for precious family time with the Princess of Wales and their children. A year ago, William was in a very different place, as wife Kate was still undergoing chemotherapy treatment after her cancer diagnosis. At the same time, his father the King has also been diagnosed with the disease.
Not only was he on hand to support them both, but he also proved to be a rock for his three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
He memorably described 2024 as "brutal" and significantly one of the "hardest of his life". But with Kate now in remission, things look different 12 months on as he turns a year older, focus shifts slightly to duty.
In the past week, not only has he been at Trooing and Garter Day but also Royal Ascot and carried out a visit alongside actress Cate Blanchett to Colorifix - a Norwich-based company which creates sustainable dye for clothing, and is one of his Earthshot Prize finalists.
And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond tells the Mirror that William is "extremely serious" when it comes to the job that his life has given him.
She explained: "As he himself has said, if he can't make some kind of difference, some kind of impact on issues he cares so deeply about – then what is the point of being a prince or of having such a high profile platform?
"So, now that the crisis of the past 18 months has eased, he seems to be working pretty much flat out for much of the time, and I'm sure that will continue." But despite his work and duty, there is one thing that always comes first for William as well as wife Kate - family.
William is a very hands-on parent, doing the school run and ferrying the kids to their various after-school sports clubs and activities. Putting family first was no more so evident than at Easter earlier this year when he and his family skipped the traditional Easter Sunday church service with the King and Queen at Windsor to spend precious family time together - all with the King's blessing.
And even if his schedule may seem busier, Jennie believes this family time is something William will always make a priority. She said: "These years are a period when, without the never-ending state duties of a monarch, he can be allowed to concentrate rather more fully on his wife and children. So I think school holidays will continue to be ring-fenced as much as possible, even if he is criticised for doing so.
"You just have to look at the pictures of William and his children released for Father's Day to see how much they adore him and how close they are as a family. This tall, handsome, smiling man is their dad and their protector. And William would never want to put that in any jeopardy."

Racegoers make the most of the scorching sun as they step out in their Summer finery for the last day of racing's most famous event

Stylish racegoers dusted off their best frocks and put their best fashion foot forward as they arrived for the fifth and final day of Royal Ascot. And for once, it appeared there was not a cloud in a the sky, and rain would not spoil the day at the Berkshire racecourse. In fact, it may have been too hot for some, with temperatures reaching roasting 28C at one point. Bright colours were the order of the day - alongside statement hats of course - and the crowd was a sea of people dressed in vibrant hues. A number of attendees opted for yellow, looking Summery and stylish in their bright ensembles. Many opted for midi or even full-length gowns, making the demure look front and centre when it came to fashion. But as ever, some of the most striking style moments came in the form of headgear, with some racegoers opting for truly eye- catching millinery. Dressed to the nines, groups of classy racegoers also opted to coordinate their attire for the annual occasion, rather than wearing their ensembles solo. Many glamorous revellers showed off their fashion prowess by donning one of the major trends of the season - monochrome outfits. When it comes to fashion, the word monochrome is often used to describe an ensemble that is black or white. However, what it truly means, is an outfit where all items are the same colour (irrespective of what the colour is). In order to create a look which is not flat and boring, those who choose to dress in a monochrome look will often mix colours of the same hue, but different shades. These differences - though subtle - add depth and visual interest to an outfit, while looking chic. Another noticeable style choice made by many revellers was their choice of block colour over prints. While there were, of course, a few attendees who did opt for a patterned ensemble, it was unlike many other years, where prints - often floral or botanical - reign supreme. Making the most of the heat, stunning ballgowns, sizable fascinators and dapper top hats were also all on display as hundreds of well-heeled race enthusiasts made the most of the hot weather which is a rarity in the UK. Royal Ascot, known as the jewel in the crown of the UK racing calendar, will welcome hundreds of thousands of punters during the five-day meet. Whilst no dress code rules apply in the Windsor Enclosure, although the majority of guests choose to dress up regardless, a strict dress code operates across the Royal and Queen Anne Enclosures. Hats are a must in both Royal enclosures. Alternatively, a headpiece or 'hatinator' with a minimum base diameter of 4 inches (10cm) is also acceptable. Dresses must be knee length or longer and forget spaghetti straps - all shoulders must be a minimum width of 1 inch (2.5cm). Strapless, off-the-shoulder and one shoulder items are also banned in the Royal and Queen Anne Enclosures. Shorts of any kind are not permitted. But having been included in the dress code since 1971, trouser suits remain a popular choice - although they mustn't be mismatched. From 2017 onwards, jumpsuits have also been accepted as Ascot worthy, while men must stick to black dress shoes worn with ankle socks, but there are no footwear specifications for women. The Royal Family - who are known to adore equestrian sports - make appearances at Royal Ascot every year. The Prince of Wales attended Ascot solo last year as it came a couple of months after Kate first announced to the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer. This year, William also went to the event without the Princess of Wales by his side, as he was pictured alongside his father, King Charles. He instead sat beside Prince Saud bin Khalid Al-Saud, a member of the ruling royal family of Saudi Arabia, and opposite Charles, 76, and Camilla, 77, as they made their way to the racecourse by carriage as other revellers looked on. It has been reported that pulled out of attending the prestigious five-day meet at the last minute as she continues to 'find the right balance' following her battle with cancer. Racegoers had been hoping to catch a glimpse of Kate as William was named as one of the figures awarding race prizes during day two of the festival. Ascot officials had announced in a published list at 12pm that the Princess was due to be with William in the second carriage in the royal procession - which is marking its 200th anniversary this year. But less than half an hour later, Kensington Palace confirmed just before 12.30pm that Kate would not be attending - and a revised carriage list was published by Ascot. She said: "People don't know what is going on behind closed doors. "I'm going through so much at the minute that the weight has fallen off me. I worry about my mum constantly. She's very emotional – she thinks she's going to have another heart attack." Amy added: "People think I'm not eating, but I do eat. To be honest, I do feel better when I'm a bit heavier than I am at the moment. There's so much going on at the minute – it's the result of pure stress. We're also having renovations done in the midst of parenting four kids. ‌ "But I'm strong, I've been in this industry for 15 years. I've had lots of people concerned about me, which I completely understand, but yes, people can be so quick to judge. "It's so unfair – it shouldn't matter what size people are. Imagine if I was really happy and healthy this way? I've been open about losing too much, but I'm working towards putting some back on now." Amy has also addressed rumours that she had been using weight loss injections. She has denied this but has said she tried it once 18 months ago, but that is all. ‌ She said that the jab made her feel "so, so ill" and threw up three of four times as a result. Amy said the side effects "scared" her so much that she stopped using it "immediately". Amy said that she went to a private doctor with the hope of losing some weight. She had her weight and blood pressure checked during a consultation before being prescribed the injections which started at the lowest dose. However, Amy then chose to change her lifestyle instead. She began training and eating a healthy diet as she has worked with Freya from Potentia who is an online weight-loss coach based in Dubai.
