A mother-of-two whose hotel room was burgled while on holiday in Spain has shared how she flew into a rage when she caught the thieves red-handed – and sent them fleeing with a barrage of English expletives.
Becca Farley was holidaying at the Magic Tropical Splash resort in Benidorm with her partner and two children, aged six and 11, when she discovered intruders in their room. The family, from Eastleigh, England, had forked out £2,500 for their week-long stay.
On their final night, with notices around the hotel alerting guests to an impending power cut, Becca returned to the room to charge their mobiles ahead of their journey home.
"As I got in the lift these two teenagers got in the lift with me and just pressed my floor level," she recounted "I honestly didn't think anything of it because there's five rooms per floor so I just assumed they were going to one of them."
The teens exited the lift before her and walked directly into her room, the door of which had been propped open by a shoe. Becca added: "I thought, 'Oh s**t, I have obviously got off on the wrong floor. What a palaver. I'm going to have to wait for the lift again'. But it was the right floor.
"It happened all quite quickly and they just strolled straight into my room. I then followed in after them, which in hindsight, I shouldn't have because you hear horror stories and I think it could have gone sour. But I just didn't really think and went straight into the room and shouted 'What are you doing in my room?'"
One of the intruders began yelling at her in Spanish, prompting Becca to yell back: "Get the f**k out! Get the f**k out! Get the f**k out!" until they left. They came back shortly after and pounded on the door while she remained locked inside.
"I was absolutely petrified," she admitted. "I know it sounds silly and people have said you should have done this, you should have locked them in the room, you should have decked them but at that moment I think it was just that invasion of privacy.
"This is supposed to be your safe place when you are away, you're away from home, we don't travel all that often so we were really shaken. Then that night I did not sleep because I was flinching at every noise. If it had happened earlier on in the week we would have flown home."
After informing hotel security about the incident, Becca learnt another family had suffered a similar intrusion and had passports, watches and other valuables stolen, reports the Liverpool Echo.

Becca is now alerting other holidaymakers planning trips to Spain with some advice: "I would advise just to be alert. A lot of people have said we were scaremongering people not to go away. Not at all.
"We will certainly go on holiday again. It's not a case of us never going abroad again, but I think it's just having that awareness that if you are a lone woman, please be careful.
"I'm very lucky that I'm OK, but I think it's just a case of having your wits about you a bit more. When you go on holiday you tend to relax and become a little bit naive to these situations."
She also advised securing valuables in suitcases with padlocks, saying: "Obviously keep your valuables safe. I know some people say 'Don't use the safes'. We personally lock all of ours and padlock them in our suitcases.
"I think it's just a case of having your wits about you and knowing not to get comfortable in somewhere you've never been before."

Despite her intention to continue travelling, Becca stated that she'll now take additional precautions. She said: "I'm considering getting a webcam that you can put in your room next time we go away. I will carry on locking my stuff away. I would never take the kids away on my own.
"I certainly wouldn't have cleaners in my room ever again, not to say it definitely was them but they have access to your room. I don't know if I would feel comfortable going up to a room on my own again."

McGregor 'punch' incident came as he flew entire football team out to Ibiza

Conor McGregor has revealed he paid to take all of his Black Forge Inn teammates to Ibiza to celebrate their recent league title win. The two-weight UFC champion has been playing for his pub's over 35 team, who won the UCFL Premier Division title last month. McGregor jetted the team out to the party island of Ibiza to mark the success. "To celebrate winning the league I took the @blackforgeinn football squad away on holiday to Ibiza! All expenses paid, VIP's," the Dubliner wrote on social media as he shared a number of photos and videos from the trip. He continued: "LEAGUE CHAMPIONS, BABY! Reach out, link up, join a team! Get active! For the sake of your mental health you will thank yourself! #ibizapartyisland." McGregor was involved in an alleged incident at a nightclub while on the Spanish island. In the early hours of Tuesday, at Pacha nightclub, The Sun released footage that allegedly showed the Irishman appearing to peer down to address an unidentified man in the middle of the dancefloor. Merely moments later, the 36-year-old appeared to throw two punches. The man hit the deck, and onlookers have since come forward to recount their version of the alleged incident. One individual - who saw the whole thing - claimed there did not appear to be any consequences for the former dual-weight UFC champion. "The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away," he told The Sun. "There [didn't appear to be any] consequences for Conor." Another said: "About five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back. It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken." They added: "About a minute later, the bouncers came and got him on the back and took him out of the club." "It was right before close anyway," they continued. "There was no messing around; they just removed him. Conor left through the garden a bit later; he didn't look very happy." The scuffle unfolded mere hours after McGregor was seen on the island alongside Katie Price. The MMA icon was decked out in red shorts, a cap, and sunnies, casually indulging in a cigar. Price took to Instagram to post a snap with McGregor, captioning it with: "You legend," following a shout-out from McGregor in his own story, where he penned: "Forever." Spurs' defender and Austrian national player Kevin Danso also shared a moment with the ex-featherweight and lightweight UFC champ on his social media. McGregor later updated his social media, writing on X: "You won't speak bad about my country and its people and that's ever. Vote McGregor." Later, McGregor flaunted several snaps on Instagram, showcasing one amidst a group of blokes and another posing beneath an image of Al Pacino in the iconic 1983 movie Scarface. This was not McGregor's first heated moment at an Ibiza bash. Three years prior, he angrily trampled on a fan's hat after it was lobbed at him for an autograph during his 34th birthday festivities. McGregor gave the person a mock thumbs up and then hurled jibes their way. The last time McGregor graced the Octagon was when he succumbed to his old foe Dustin Poirier in 2021. He had plans for a UFC return against Michael Chandler the following year but was side-lined by an injury he picked up whilst training. It remains unclear whether he will make a return to competitive action. However, he has been hinting at a possible comeback by sharing numerous training videos in recent weeks.

Irish tourist rages 'I'll break your f*****g balls' as locals applaud police

A "drunken" Irish tourist who was arrested on the Spanish holiday island of Majorca on Wednesday was bundled into the back of a police car after threatening to kick her arresting officer 'in the f*****g balls'. The 25-year-old could be heard screaming: 'If you break my watch I'll break your f*****g balls' as she was pinned to the patrol car and her hands brought behind her back. A split-second later she lashed out backwards with her right foot as she aimed a violent kick towards the testicles of the officer cuffing her. Local shopkeepers and other shocked bystanders watching the dramatic scene broke into a spontaneous round of applause as the out-of-control tourist was forced into the back seat of the police car. The arrest occurred on Wednesday evening in the east coast Majorcan resort of s'Illot in the municipality of Sant Llorenc des Cardassar near to the Love Island villa where filming is currently going on. Local officials said about the female holidaymaker's arrest in a statement, describing her as a 25-year-old Irish passport holder: 'The local Sant Llorenc des Cardassar police have arrested a woman for allegedly assaulting pedestrians, disturbing public order and causing damage to a police vehicle.' They added: 'Officers arrested the woman, a 25-year-old Irishwoman, on Wednesday evening after she was involved in acts of extreme aggressiveness in public in the tourist resort of s'Illot. 'Things began with an alert that a woman, who was apparently drunk and very upset, was causing disturbances inside a restaurant and assaulting customers. When officers arrived, they found the woman in the middle of the street, insulting and blocking pedestrians for no apparent reason. 'During their intervention, she displayed an extremely violent and defiant attitude, even assaulting the officers, who had to reduce her and proceed to arrest her for alleged crimes of gross disobedience, resistance and assaulting police. During the transfer to the police station, the detainee managed to put her hands in front of her and started to hit the glass of the police vehicle partition screen hard, causing visible damage to it. 'Officers were forced to immobilize her to avoid further damage or possible injury. Once at the police station, the woman continued with a hostile attitude, which led to medical emergency services being activated. Finally, she had to be sedated by a medical team due to the risk she posed to herself and to the police officers.'

She said: "For my aunt it was the last trip, a goodbye. "She had taken the decision to split from her husband because of his aggressive behaviour. "They had broken up already once and were apart for quite a while but then got back together again to try to resolve things, although the mistreatment continued." Zunilda's gym companion raised the alarm saying he hadn't seen her since June 14. A National Police spokesman in Malaga said: "The National Police is investigating the death of a man and woman found lifeless at a property in Fuengirola. "In the absence of official identification of the bodies, initial inquiries are pointing to them being those of a 43-year-old woman of Colombian origin and her 46-year-old partner of American origin. "Officers went to the property on a residential estate about 1.45pm after a friend of the woman whose body was found reported her disappearance on Wednesday at the National Police Station in Torremolinos.
