Tony Bellew is now a regular on our TV screens, with the star having graced shows like I'm A Celebrity and Celebrity Gogglebox in recent years. Originally gaining recognition as a professional boxer, Tony has since become a television personality after hanging up his gloves in 2018. He's now set to feature on Alison Hammond's Big Weekend, where the former boxer will share insights about his personal life, health, and family life with wife Rachael and their four sons. Before his next telly stint, let's delve into Tony's life, from his remarkable career and net worth to his early days... Tony's early days Tony, born Anthony Lewis Bellew, hails from Toxteth, Liverpool, born in November 1982. His formative years were spent residing on Mulgrave Street in Toxeth, before the family relocated to Smithdown Road near Wavertree, reports the Liverpool Echo. Tony took up kickboxing around the age of 10, spurred on by his father, despite harbouring dreams of becoming a footballer. Kickboxing paved the way for boxing for Tony, and he eventually decided to go pro. Boxing career Tony stepped into the professional boxing ring in 2007, making his debut with a 2nd-round TKO against Jamie Ambler. He continued to notch up several more victories in 2007 and 2008, and by 2009 had maintained an unbeaten record of 12-0. He went on to square off against the likes of Nathan Cleverly, Mateusz Masternak, Ilunga Makabu and BJ Flores. In 2017, Tony stepped into the ring for his first heavyweight bout against David Haye. He later returned to cruiserweight, taking on Oleksandr Usyk in 2018, but was defeated. From 2010 to 2014, Tony held the British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles, as well as the European cruiserweight title from 2015 to 2016. He also held the WBC cruiserweight title from 2016 to 2017. After his bout with Usyk, Tony announced his retirement. He hung up his gloves with a record of 30 victories from 34 professional fights, with 20 of those wins coming inside the distance. He suffered three defeats and one draw. Post-retirement, Tony appeared on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in 2020. The following year, he joined the UK commentary team for DAZN and began regularly contributing to their boxing coverage. In 2023, he participated in ITV's I'm A Me Out of Here! and reprised his role as 'Pretty' Ricky Conlan in Creed III, a character he first played in the original Creed in 2015. The former boxer also partnered with Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford for Celebrity Gogglebox, and took part in Soccer Aid this year. Who is Tony Bellew's wife? Tony has been married to Rachael since 2018, but the pair have been together since their teenage years. The pair first locked eyes as nine year olds living on the same street in Merseyside. Their paths crossed again years later when Tony, working as a bouncer, met Rachael at a nightclub where she was dancing, and their friendship blossomed into romance. Their love continued to grow, and they are now proud parents to four sons: Corey, Cobey, Carter, and Carson. In 2018, Tony and Rachael exchanged vows in a grand ceremony at Cheshire's Peckforton Castle, surrounded by loved ones. The boxer often expresses his admiration for his wife on social media. Exact date heatwave will be over as 'intense thunderstorms' warning issued
Parts of the UK are set to be hit by an 'intense thunderstorm' after a heatwave, the Met Office has said. Heat-health alert warnings are currently in place across the country The UK could be set for the hottest day of the year for the second day in a row in the run up to a weekend filled with blazing sunshine and scorching temperatures. However, the balmy weather comes with a caveat as the UK may be facing "intense thunderstorms" by week's end, according to recent predictions. In many parts of the UK today, and over the coming days temperatures are expected to exceed 30C. The reason for the warmer temperatures is due to a "combination of several factors", according to Tony Wisson, Deputy Chief Meteorologist for the Met Office. A number of areas in the UK have been issued with a heat-health alert warning. The alert affects all regions in England and will be in place from 12pm on Thursday June 19, until 9am on Monday, June 23. This precautionary system activates to alert citizens about potential health risks due to extreme temperatures. Brits are advised to brace for "uncomfortable heat" that will last all day and linger through the night. Forecasts suggest "tropical nights" could occur, with night-time temperatures stubbornly staying above 20C, potentially disrupting sleep patterns, reports the Liverpool Echo. Dan Holley, Deputy Chief Meteorologist for the Met Office, predicts: "The highest temperatures from this hot spell are forecast for Saturday, with low 30s Celsius expected widely across England, and even hitting up to 34°C in certain eastern localities. "Despite this, the more uncomfortable heat will be in northern and western areas initially, where despite somewhat lower temperatures the air will be more humid. "While Saturday will be a dry and fine day for many, a few showers or thunderstorms will be possible across northern and western parts of the UK, with an increasing risk of some intense thunderstorms developing across portions of north Wales, northern England and southern Scotland later in the afternoon and into the evening hours, which could bring heavy downpours, frequent lightning, gusty winds and possibly large hail. "The nights will also be quite warm, with the possibility of temperatures not falling below 20°C in some areas, making it hard to sleep. This is what we term a 'tropical night'. "Temperatures will ease from the west on Sunday as fresher air arrives from the Atlantic, although parts of East Anglia and the far southeast of England could still see 28-29°C for a time." From Saturday to Sunday, Glasgow will see temperatures plunge from 27C to 19C, Plymouth's from 24C to 21C and Liverpool's from 28C to 22C. Further east, Brits will see sizzling temps for another day, with highs of 28C in London, which will drop to 23C on Monday, and plunge from 28C to 23C in Kent, The Express reports. Heatwave conditions in the UK are met when a location records a period of at least three consecutive days with temperature values meeting or exceeding the heatwave temperature threshold for that location. Across much of the north and west of the UK, this threshold is 25°C, but across Greater London and the Home Counties, the threshold is higher, at 28°C. The high pressure is anticipated to shift away from the UK early next week, leading to a drop in temperatures. However, the Met Office has expressed uncertainty over how swiftly this will occur and what the peak temperatures across the UK will be.

'Gang of Spanish thieves raided my hotel room and here's how I fought back'
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info A mother-of-two whose hotel room was burgled while on holiday in Spain has shared how she flew into a rage when she caught the thieves red-handed – and sent them fleeing with a barrage of English expletives. Becca Farley was holidaying at the Magic Tropical Splash resort in Benidorm with her partner and two children, aged six and 11, when she discovered intruders in their room. The family, from Eastleigh, England, had forked out £2,500 for their week-long stay. On their final night, with notices around the hotel alerting guests to an impending power cut, Becca returned to the room to charge their mobiles ahead of their journey home. "As I got in the lift these two teenagers got in the lift with me and just pressed my floor level," she recounted "I honestly didn't think anything of it because there's five rooms per floor so I just assumed they were going to one of them." The teens exited the lift before her and walked directly into her room, the door of which had been propped open by a shoe. Becca added: "I thought, 'Oh s**t, I have obviously got off on the wrong floor. What a palaver. I'm going to have to wait for the lift again'. But it was the right floor. "It happened all quite quickly and they just strolled straight into my room. I then followed in after them, which in hindsight, I shouldn't have because you hear horror stories and I think it could have gone sour. But I just didn't really think and went straight into the room and shouted 'What are you doing in my room?'" One of the intruders began yelling at her in Spanish, prompting Becca to yell back: "Get the f**k out! Get the f**k out! Get the f**k out!" until they left. They came back shortly after and pounded on the door while she remained locked inside. "I was absolutely petrified," she admitted. "I know it sounds silly and people have said you should have done this, you should have locked them in the room, you should have decked them but at that moment I think it was just that invasion of privacy. "This is supposed to be your safe place when you are away, you're away from home, we don't travel all that often so we were really shaken. Then that night I did not sleep because I was flinching at every noise. If it had happened earlier on in the week we would have flown home." After informing hotel security about the incident, Becca learnt another family had suffered a similar intrusion and had passports, watches and other valuables stolen, reports the Liverpool Echo. (Image: Becca Farley/SWNS) Becca is now alerting other holidaymakers planning trips to Spain with some advice: "I would advise just to be alert. A lot of people have said we were scaremongering people not to go away. Not at all. "We will certainly go on holiday again. It's not a case of us never going abroad again, but I think it's just having that awareness that if you are a lone woman, please be careful. "I'm very lucky that I'm OK, but I think it's just a case of having your wits about you a bit more. When you go on holiday you tend to relax and become a little bit naive to these situations." She also advised securing valuables in suitcases with padlocks, saying: "Obviously keep your valuables safe. I know some people say 'Don't use the safes'. We personally lock all of ours and padlock them in our suitcases. "I think it's just a case of having your wits about you and knowing not to get comfortable in somewhere you've never been before." (Image: Becca Farley/SWNS) Despite her intention to continue travelling, Becca stated that she'll now take additional precautions. She said: "I'm considering getting a webcam that you can put in your room next time we go away. I will carry on locking my stuff away. I would never take the kids away on my own. "I certainly wouldn't have cleaners in my room ever again, not to say it definitely was them but they have access to your room. I don't know if I would feel comfortable going up to a room on my own again." Magic Tropical Splash Hotel has been contacted for comment.

Schoolboy who murdered Ava White in petty social media row is finally unmasked
As Harry Gilbertson turns 18 today, he can now be named as the vicious killer of Ava White, who was stabbed outside Primark in Liverpool city centre moments after the Christmas lights switch-on This is the schoolboy who murdered 12-year-old girl Ava White in a petty row over social media videos. Harry Gilbertson has been named and pictured for the first time because he turns 18 today - Friday June 20 - more than three-and-a-half years after he killed Ava. He stabbed the girl in the neck following an altercation moments after a Christmas lights switch-on in Liverpool city centre. Gilbertson denied the murder charge but was convicted by a jury in May 2022. He was just 14 at the time of the offence, and 15 when he was jailed for a minimum of 13 years - and so therefore reporting restrictions meant the press was unable to identity the youngster. These cease today, though, because Gilbertson has reached adulthood. Reacting to this, Ava's mother, Leeann White, 42, told Mail Online: "It is important the public know who he is. The public know everything about Ava – her name was splashed everywhere when she died. Why shouldn't everyone know what he did? Why should he be protected? "He was the one in the wrong, he was the one who went out that night with a knife... I know he was only a child himself when it happened but children know right from wrong and my child knew not to pick up a knife and stab someone." READ MORE: Ava White's mum 'thought there'd been a mistake' when told daughter, 12, had been stabbed The stabbing in November 2021 happened after Ava and her friends were approached by a group of boys. A verbal argument followed after one of the boys filmed them, which he later shared on social media site Snapchat. Ava told the boy to stop filming and delete the video and, after the argument continued, Ava was stabbed in the neck with a flick knife. She was rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital, where she sadly died a short time later despite the best efforts of medical staff. Since he was sentenced, Gilbertson has been brazenly flaunting rules while inside his secure unit. The picture above shows the now 18-year-old posing for photos published on Snapchat, reports Liverpool Echo. Speaking to the Echo, Leeann added: "The picture was taken on Snapchat. The same social media that he posted the video of Ava on before he murdered her. He has never shown any remorse... I don't call him by his name. I call him the monster." The ECHO has approached the Ministry of Justice for comment regarding Gilbertson's appearance on social media while in detention. In the picture shared on Snapchat, Gilbertson, with cropped brown hair and a blue Montirex tracksuit top, stands with his muscular arms crossed, while an unknown associate wearing a grey Nike tracksuit puts up his middle finger to the camera. Merseyside Police and other forces have - and continue to - conduct open land searches, stop searches and carry out targeted operations to attempt to take knives off the streets. However, data from NHS Digital shows there were 3,900 "hospital episodes" recorded in English hospitals in 2023/24 due to assault by a sharp object. This was a 3.3% increase compared to 2022/23, and a 7% increase compared to 2014/15.

One popular item in the sale, that will add a homely feel to any room, is the Bamboo Venetian Blinds. Normally retailing between £40 and £155, for a limited time only shoppers can grab the beautiful blinds for between £32 and £124. The major homeware retailer is supplying their popular blinds in a wide variety of sizes that will fit into any room at home. The smallest size available is W 60cm (24") by D 120cm (47"), while the largest is W 120cm (71") by D 160cm (63"). With many sizes to choose from, the blinds can also be trimmed to size if required, reports the Liverpool Echo. Additionally, shoppers have also spoilt for choice as all seven colourways of the Venetian blinds are included in the sale. Shoppers can choose between Bamboo Jute, Dark Oak, Sage, Navy, Walnut, White and White Sand. Described as an 'easy-fit' blind, the product comes with a convenient cord and tilt mechanism that will allow users to effortlessly control their light and privacy levels. Being both a stylish and practical edition to the home, the 50mm slats contribute to the timeless appeal for the versatile blinds. Alternatively, Dunelm is also selling the Fauxwood Venetian Blinds which are available in white, black, wood or dove. While not in the sale, the price of these blinds start at £18 and go up to £85. Shoppers also have the option to choose which size of slats they want - 50mm or 25mm. Over on Debenhams, the retailer is selling the Furnished Venetian Window Blinds for between £15.99 and £33.99. Sizes start at a 50cm width with a 150cm drop, and go up to a width of 120cm with a drop of 210cm. Shoppers can buy the blinds in either black, grey, natural or white. Dunelm's Bamboo Blinds currently have a 4.5 star rating from shoppers, with many praising the blinds for how it transformed their rooms by making them 'fresher and brighter'. One happy shopper remarked: "Easy to install, easy to operate. Good value for money given the excellent quality. Really pleased with the look these add to our office space." With another five-star reviewer adding: "Husband said it was straightforward to cut and install. It's a really nice colour, looks stylish and my bathroom feels so much fresher and brighter. It's amazing how much difference it makes." However, one shopper cautioned about the screws that come with the blinds. They said: "Very attractive. Easy to cut with the right tools. Supplied screws however they seem to be made of butter and head erodes on turning; throw away and use better screws recommended to avoid tantrums." Another shopper also said: "Very pleased with the product which looks great. Just to be aware - we bought a slightly oversized blind with the aim of cutting it down to fit the window, and this was much more labour intensive than expected! The metal is a bit of a challenge to cut through and the slats are very awkward and easy to splinter." On the flip side, another top reviewer raved: "I absolutely love my new bamboo venetian blinds! They replaced voile curtains and now the natural light just streams in through the slats. My room is transformed! Great quality, great price." While a sixth shopper tagged on: "Purchased this blind yesterday so simple to put up amazing quality looks absolutely beautiful up and was the finishing touch I needed for my hallway."
