Ralph Fiennes Was Asked To Give Harry Potter's New Voldemort Advice, And I Didn't Expect A Funny Lesson About Robes And Tights

At the moment, Ralph Fiennes is getting ready to play President Snow, a key Hunger Games character in Sunrise on the Reaping, who was originated on screen by Donald Sutherland. However, he's also in Sutherland's place with a different franchise, as we begin to wonder who will play Voldemort in HBO's Harry Potter series. So, with that in mind, the original Dark Lord gave some silly yet sensible advice to the actor who will eventually take over the role.
Now, while the main Harry Potter trio has been cast alongside key Hogwarts faculty, like Dumbledore, who John Lithgow will play, we haven't heard anything about Voldemort. That makes sense, because we don't actually see He Who Must Not Be Named in his full form until Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. So, odds are, it'll be a while before he's cast.
However, Ralph Fiennes is already giving advice to the actor who will take on the role, as he told ET:
My advice is make sure you can handle the long flowing robes and don't trip over them. Practice your long, flowing, robe walk.
Again, while sort of a funny response, it's 100% practical. The Conclave actor's signature look as Voldemort was a long, billowing black robe. I imagine it can be difficult to look effortlessly menacing while trying to walk, and I would assume it's an especially hard costume to fight in. So, practicing his walk in the robes makes sense.
Considering the Harry Potter movies are some of Fiennes' best films, it's safe to say he nailed the robe walk, and he was truly terrifying as Voldemort, flowing robes and all.
So, whoever lands the role should heed his advice, and maybe learn from this next story about tights, too:

Listen, if it works, it works, and comfort and function are always key. I'd imagine it'd be hard to move period with tights that were constantly riding down. And I assume it would up the probability of tripping over those robes The Grand Budapest Hotel actor was talking about. So, he found a solution, and it seems like it might be a wardrobe tip the new Voldemort should take, too.
So, to any actors who might want to play this iconic role and follow in the footsteps of Fiennes, I hope you're listening.

Calculating How Many Players ‘Destiny 2: The Edge Of Fate' Will Launch With, Per Math
Destiny 2: Edge of Fate Destiny 2 is entering a much different new era in a month, one which will launch the next few years of the game. It's switching from an annual expansion and four seasons to two smaller expansions and four 'major updates' that are not seasons, and the entire project is called 'Frontiers.' Its first expansion is The Edge of Fate, which will be out on July 15, just under a month from now. One open question is just how many players Edge of Fate will launch with, namely, who will have stuck around since the launch of Destiny 2's The Final Shape a year ago, given the context of how the game will work now. I think we can use math to at least get a pretty good estimate of this, given the difference between the pre-expansion lows of the playerbase and then what they spiked to at actual launch. We will, of course, have to use Steam for this, as we don't have data elsewhere. We only have from Beyond Light forward for Steam, so no Forsaken or Shadowkeep. That would be below half of Beyond Light and Witch Queen and close to a third of Lightfall and Final Shape. I also think you might be able to say that this could be an over-estimate if the idea is that in the post-Light and Darkness era, a brand new, lower-profile, smaller-scale expansion may prove less attractive. I'm not trying to dunk on the game here, but I do think we have to be realistic about the new normal for Destiny 2 going forward. I've avoided reporting on the 'record lows' the game has hit almost every month since The Final Shape, but now reality is approaching as we try to see what level of surge we're getting for these smaller expansions. Then, of course, we'd have to see how the second expansion did six months later, the Star Wars-themed Renegades. The way this works out on the revenue side is if the cost of making less content with fewer employees works with the new lower, average playercount in a way that doesn't put the game deeply in the red. This is not a short-term experiment, this is the plan for a few more years at least with no Destiny 3 on the horizon. It will have to work at least to some degree, as at this point, I don't think it's a safe bet that Bungie can rely on the upcoming Marathon to be the huge boost the studio needs (we've talked that to death at this point). Maybe Edge of Fate will prove surprising, but it's a smaller expansion, offering less content, outside the long-term Light and Darkness saga. Expectations will have to be adjusted accordingly. The same Reddit thread also points out how both Jyn and Cassian share similar trajectories, despite coming from different worlds. 'Jyn basically goes through a condensed character arc that's the same as Cassian—aka wanting to avoid the rebellion before realizing they have no choice but to fight.' James Gunn Defends Matt Reeves Amid THE BATMAN: PART II Delays: 'People Should Get Off Matt's Nuts" — GeekTyrant
James Gunn isn't here for your impatience and he's making that clear when it comes to The Batman: Part II . With the sequel's release date pushed to 2027 and some fans getting antsy, Gunn is stepping in to remind everyone that storytelling takes time, especially when the person behind it is someone as meticulous and committed as Matt Reeves. Originally slated for 2025, The Batman: Part II has seen multiple delays, now targeting an October 1, 2027 release. But according to Gunn, there's a very simple reason behind the wait. He previously said: 'The only reason for the delay is there isn't a full script (those of you who follow me here probably know that already). Matt's committed to making the best film he possibly can, and no one can accurately guess exactly how long a script will take to write. 'Once there is a finished script, there is around two years for pre-production, shooting and post-production on big films.' Gunn recently told Entertainment Weekly that a script draft is expected soon. 'I hope that happens. We feel really good about it. Matt's excited. I talk to Matt all the time. I'm totally excited about it. So we can't wait to read the scripts, but we haven't read it yet.' Reeves is teaming up with Mattson Tomlin again for the screenplay. While that's been happening, Reeves hasn't exactly been idle. He's been overseeing HBO's The Penguin , co-producing the upcoming animated series Batman: Caped Crusader , and is involved with the horror-themed Clayface movie being developed for Gunn's DC Universe. Still, the online pressure to hurry things along hasn't gone unnoticed by Gunn, who didn't hold back. 'People should get off Matt's nuts because it's like, let the guy write the screenplay in the amount of time he needs to write it. That's just the way it is. He doesn't owe you something because you like his movie. I mean, you like his movie because of Matt. So let Matt do things the way he does.' Gunn also added that Reeves doesn't pay much attention to social media chatter, but the criticism has gotten under his skin. 'He's got a lot of other things happening, so I don't think he lets it affect him. He's fine. But I am irritated by people.' And then came the mic-drop moment: 'It's just that thing people don't need to be entitled about. It's going to come out when he feels good about the screenplay. And Matt's not going to give me the screenplay until he feels good about the screenplay.' Reeves himself acknowledged back in January that Batman: Part II is 'taking longer than I would have wanted,' but also said, 'I'm super excited about what we're doing, so I really can't wait to share that with everybody.' He also confirmed he's interested in more spin-offs once the sequel is underway: 'The big priority is to get The Batman 2 shooting and going. And then it'll be exciting where we'll go from there.' With Robert Pattinson, Zoë Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, and Jeffrey Wright all expected to return, The Batman: Part II is shaping up to be worth the wait… if fans can keep their cool.
