under Universal Pictures was being developed to showcase Madonna's life on the screen. However, the project got scrapped in early 2023. Back then, Julia Garner was billed as the top choice to play Madonna in the Universal Pictures film.

Madonna biopic: Earlier attempts
In 2023, Madonna had put the development of Universal Pictures film in abeyance to embark on her The Celebration Tour.
During that time, insiders told Variety that the singer "remains committed" to portray her life in a film "one day".
The veteran singer had contributed to the writing of two draft copies of the script as well. Last year, Madonna had dropped a hint through social media that suggested her return to working on the film, as per The Hollywood Reporter.
Shawn Levy's contribution to Netflix originals
Levy's reported association with the Netflix limited series about Madonna signals major efforts towards mainstream portrayal of the singer's journey. He has contributed to some very popular Netflix original titles, including Stranger Things, All The Light We Cannot See, and The Adam Project.
He is also the director of the 2024 hit Deadpool & Wolverine, besides being among the producers of the film. His production company, 21 Laps, has an exclusive TV overall deal at Netflix.

New Delhi: The much-awaited Season 3 of The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix on June 21, with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan making an appearance as the show's first celebrity guest. Host Kapil Sharma kicked off the conversation by highlighting a humorous coincidence, both Shah Rukh Khan's wife and Aamir Khan's girlfriend are named Gauri (Gauri Khan and Gauri Spratt, respectively). Turning to Salman, he joked, 'Aapki life mein koi gori–Gauri nahi hai?' (Is there no fair–Gauri in your life?).
