Shelters, Systems, and Security: Finance Ministry Boosts Emergency Readiness
KUWAIT CITY, June 22: The Ministry of Finance has activated its emergency plan to guarantee the uninterrupted delivery of financial and service operations with high efficiency, aiming to preserve the integrity of government performance under all circumstances.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the ministry announced that it has implemented a series of precautionary measures. These include equipping shelters within the eastern and southern Ministry Complex buildings with full technical and service capabilities to accommodate up to 900 individuals. The shelters have been classified as C4 and deemed to be in excellent condition. Additionally, storage warehouses in the eastern parking area have been designated for emergency use if required.
The ministry also highlighted the activation of key financial systems — including Oracle and the Government Financial Management Information System (GFMIS) — using alternative devices. Remote work capabilities have been enabled within a secure electronic environment, supported by specialized cybersecurity programs.
Furthermore, the ministry emphasized that its emergency plan is being continuously updated in coordination with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Interior's Civil Defense Department. A coordination meeting was recently held to ensure maximum readiness and swift response capabilities.
