Romeo Beckham's ex Kim Turnbull speaks out on rumours and lies after denying she ever dated Brooklyn: 'It's tough when people are saying things that don't align with your character and your values'

Kim Turnbull has spoken out on her 'tough' experience with fame after splitting from Romeo Beckham and hitting back at rumours that she dated his brother Brooklyn. The brunette beauty, who only recently split from Romeo, 22, shot down accusations that she was romantically involved with Brooklyn, 26 in a statement posted to her Instagram account, explaining: 'I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative. 'I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. Soon after Romeo shared a cryptic post about 'spreading unnecessary lies'. And now in a new interview with The Sunday Times Style Magazine, the DJ and model has opened up about how she deals with the limelight and juggling rumours about herself. She said: 'There are situations that you find yourself in that present you with new aspects, but at the same time I think it has always been something that I've been around and seen, so I just take it day by day and try to focus on the positives. 'Sometimes it's difficult to block things out because a lot of the time there are things said that are not necessarily true or necessarily positive, and your instinctive reaction is to want to be like, no, that's not true! 'But I think what I've learnt, at this point in life, is to try and take it with a pinch of salt.' Kim continued: 'It's definitely tough, whatever it is, when people are saying things about you that aren't necessarily true and, most importantly in my opinion, don't align with your character and your values. 'You want to turn around and reply to every comment and have your say in it, but at the end of the day you just can't.' Kim had been at the centre of the Beckham family fallout, after Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz, 30, reportedly claimed that she felt uncomfortable around her. Things came to a head when Brooklyn and Nicola were no shows at any of David's 50th birthday celebrations last month, with The Mail revealing that Kim has been made the 'scapegoat' in the feud. Brooklyn and his wife Nicola snubbed the football legend David's five celebrations to mark his milestone birthday, including celebrations in Miami, London, Paris the Cotswolds and a boys fishing trip to Scotland. He also failed to acknowledge his dad for Father's Day, despite David and Victoria publicly reaching out to their son. Earlier this month the Mail exclusively revealed Kim and Romeo had split after seven months together. Sources said how the pair's relationship had 'fizzled out' and their parting had 'nothing to do' with Nicola Peltz. A pal said: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up. 'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be. 'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them.' Kim, is the well-heeled granddaughter of renowned post-war sculptor and painter William Turnbull, while her father Alex Turnbull and uncle Johnny were part of the post-punk band 23 Skidoo, formed in 1979. She dated Madonna and Guy Ritchie's son Rocco, and through that connection was part of a tightknit friendship group in 2016 which included Brooklyn. Kim and Brooklyn were undeniably close for a brief period – as photographs of them together at the time show - but suggestions that they were ever an item are wide of the mark. That Kim has now been 'thrown to the wolves' as the reason behind the family row is 'deeply upsetting' to Brooklyn's parents and brothers. US website TMZ wrote at the time: 'Sources say Brooklyn and Nicola were told to show up to the main celebrations or they wouldn't get a chance to see the family... leaving the two saddened because they simply won't be around Brooklyn's brother Romeo and his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.'

Breaking down rumor Walz deleted posts praising Minnesota shooting suspect

A rumor that circulated online in June 2025 claimed Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz deleted posts praising Vance Luther Boelter, 57, who faced charges in a pair of shootings involving Democratic state lawmakers and their spouses. The shootings, which killed two people, occurred early June 14. For example, on June 16, the X account The Patriot Oasis (@ThePatriotOasis) posted (archived), "BREAKING: Governor Tim Walz has DELETED every post he made praising Minnesota a*sassin Vance Boelter." The post received more than 7.6 million views. (@ThePatriotOasis/X) Other users also shared posts promoting this rumor on Bluesky (archived), Facebook (archived), Instagram (archived), LinkedIn (archived), Threads (archived), Truth Social (archived) and X (archived). Some commenters under these posts remarked that Walz's alleged deletion of posts praising Boelter wouldn't amount to much, sharing sentiments similar to "the internet is forever" — a popular phrase claiming no one can completely remove incriminating content users share online. For example, some users claimed (archived) screenshots existed of Walz's posts, while others made light of those promoting the rumor. (@cgwood62/Threads) However, users who alleged Walz deleted posts praising Boelter did not share any credible evidence to support their claim, as of this writing. Had Walz deleted any such messages following the shootings, remnants of the posts, and their former links, might still exist in results pages of popular search engines. Searches of Bing, DuckDuckGo, Google and Yahoo found no records of Walz's posts mentioning Boelter on his @GovTimWalz gubernatorial account, or on his @Tim_Walz personal feed. Further searches found no other records of posts praising Boelter on other social media platforms, either. Snopes emailed Walz's office to ask about the rumor, and also messaged X user @ThePatriotOasis inquiring if they could share any evidence to support their claim. We will update this story if we receive more information. On June 16, the U.S. Department of Justice charged Boelter, of Green Isle, Minnesota, with stalking and murdering Minnesota House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark Hortman, in addition to stalking and shooting Minnesota State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette Hoffman. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office in Minnesota announced Boelter also faces state charges on two counts of second-degree intentional murder and two counts of second-degree attempted intentional murder. The state said it intended to seek first-degree murder charges, and that the reason authorities filed second-degree charges was "to secure a warrant as quickly as possible." Users shared the unsubstantiated rumor about Walz deleting posts in relation to Boelter's former role on a Minnesota board. In 2019, Walz reappointed Boelter as a member of the governor's workforce development board, after then-Gov. Mark Dayton first appointed him in 2016. A news release (archived) from Walz's office listed Boelter's reappointment end date as Jan. 2, 2023. Another release (archived) from March 2023 said another person had replaced Boelter. The Minnesota Star Tribune reported that Walz, who was then-Vice President Kamala Harris' vice-presidential running mate in the 2024 presidential election, did not know Boelter, citing an unnamed source in the governor's office. Snopes did not yet independently verify this claim. The newspaper also reported that the board consists of around 60 members and that at least hundreds of people apply each year to serve on the state boards, task forces, advisory councils and commissions. In a separate article, the Star Tribune (archived) published information about Boelter's purported political affiliation: Friends and associates say Boelter, 57, was mild-mannered. His social media footprint is small. He appears to have leaned toward conservative views, at least once registering to vote as a Republican and identifying as an evangelical Christian. One of his closest friends said Boelter voted for President Donald Trump last fall. The friend, David Carlson, also said Boelter did not strike him as a zealot fixated on politics. And he never talked about violence. […] Boelter was a devout Christian who opposed abortion and went to church "every Sunday" — first at an Assembly of God church and later at non-denominational churches, Carlson said. For further reading, a previous fact check reported additional details of Boelter's involvement with the board. James Gunn Explains His Social Media Activity and Why He Still Shoots Down DC Rumors — GeekTyrant

DC Studios co-head James Gunn seems to spend a lot of time on social media engaging with fans online, but he admits that his approach to debunking rumors has changed, mostly because it's become a tiresome game of whack-a-mole. Gunn told Entertainment Weekly: 'There are a couple of people, specifically, who have pretty large followings who just consistently put out false stories, just one after the other after the other, 95 percent of the time. 'Maybe once out of every 20 times, they say something that has some slight or partial basis in reality. And it gets to be old. 'I'm not sure, some of those people, that I'm not actually helping them in a certain way by debunking them, because you're giving them traffic, which I always do, but I think they like it. So I mostly quit.' Despite 'mostly quitting,' Gunn made it clear he'll still step in when it matters, especially when misinformation has the potential to hurt someone involved in a project. He explained: 'But every once in a while, there's a story that gets out of hand quickly, that has the possibility of hurting someone's feelings. 'For instance, if there's a director we're talking to about a project and all of a sudden it comes out a story that so-and-so other director who has nothing to do with anything is doing this project, you want to kill that pretty quickly because it's not true. 'Same thing with actors or whomever. So if people's feelings are at stake and there's something that's getting out of hand, I'll shut it down.' Gunn, who previously made X his main social media stomping ground, has since shifted much of his fan engagement to Threads, where he still occasionally drops quick replies or clears up speculation. While it may seem like he's constantly online, he clarified that his social media is a team effort. 'Listen, a lot of my social networking is done by other people. It's always me, it's always my words, but a lot of times there's other people that are posting it. And a lot of other times, other people are bringing me questions offline from online, and I'll answer them and send them those answers.' As for when you might catch Gunn actively responding in real-time? Just look for a burst of activity every few weeks. 'You can see when I'm actually doing that, because there'll be like five, six answers in a row about once every three weeks.' Noting it usually happens when he's stuck in a car or on a long flight. So, while Gunn's hands are full with building a cinematic universe, he's still keeping one eye on the rumor mill and stepping in to set things straight when he feels he needs to.

Football transfer rumours: will Gyökeres force a move to Arsenal or Manchester United?

Viktor Gyökeres may or may not have spat the dummy out after reportedly refusing to hold clear-the-air talks with Sporting over his desire to move. Arsenal and Manchester United have been linked with the Sweden international but the Portuguese side want a wheelbarrow full of cash for his services, which is putting off potential suitors. Gyökeres wants the club to lower their demands but if the striker does not get what he wants, then he could go on strike to really show his employer who is boss. In a further blow to Arsenal, Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has told anyone who will listen that he only wants to joined Barcelona this summer. It is now up to Barça to look down the back of the sofa for the cash to pay for him. If the Spain international does head from the Basque Country to Catalonia, it will end any chance of Marcus Rashford joining the Spanish champions. Rashford might need to turn to Italy where Napoli, Milan and Como are interested in helping him escape from Manchester United. Ruben Amorim is seeking attacking reinforcements and his attention might be drawn to Nottingham Forest wizard Callum Hudson-Odoi. The king of cutting in from the left and scoring has a year remaining on his City Ground contract, something the Tricky Trees will be eager to change with United and Napoli considering a bid or two. Another getting flirtatious glances from San Siro is Destiny Udogie. The Tottenham full-back is seen as someone who could solve a defensive issue at Milan. The Italy international started his career at Verona and spent time with Udinese, so could be lured back to his homeland after a few years on the books in north London. It is all fun and games at Craven Cottage. Fulham have shaken their head at the suits up at Elland Road, rejecting a bid of £26m with a further £6m in add-ons for Rodrigo Muniz. If Marco Silva's side do eventually find themselves needing a new striker, USA international Ricardo Pepi could be their man. The PSV forward scored 11 in 18 last season's Eredivisie to get people interested. Guess what? Evann Guessand could be on the move. The Nice forward is on the shortlist of potential new arrivals at Leeds but they face competition from Tottenham, who have also got on the blower to get a rough idea of price and whether the player has any interest in heading to the Premier League. Chelsea have not signed anyone for a few days, so the recruitment team will be getting itchy feet. Morgan Rogers is one person who could scratch the irritation, while Brighton's João Pedro is another the club hold an interest in. Sign up to Football Daily Kick off your evenings with the Guardian's take on the world of football after newsletter promotion And Leicester need to formulate a cunning plan in order to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking. One player Ruud van Nistelrooy thinks might be able to help achieve his ambitions is Leeds' Sam Greenwood, who spent last season on loan at Preston.

Romeo Beckham shares cryptic post about 'spreading unnecessary lies' after ex Kim Turnbull hit back at claims she is the reason for his rift with brother Brooklyn

Romeo Beckham has shared a cryptic post about 'spreading unnecessary lies' after his ex Kim Turnbull set the record straight on claims she dated his brother Brooklyn. The footballer, 22, shared the post after his ex Kim, 24, shot down accusations that she was romantically involved with Brooklyn, 26, amid claims she is to blame for the rift between the two brothers, which has grown into a wider family feud. Romeo posted a snap of a scene from the iconic 1953 film Roman Holiday, where Audrey Hepburn's character utters the line: 'What the world needs is a return to sweetness and decency.' He then captioned the post: 'Be nice to people and don't spread unnecessary lies.' MailOnline has contacted a representative for Romeo Beckham for comment. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Kim has been at the centre of claims she was the reason behind a rift between the two brothers, who are currently embroiled in a wider family feud. On Monday, she addressed the speculation for the first time and insisted she has only ever had a friendship with the eldest Beckham son. Sharing a statement on her Instagram page on Monday, she said: 'I've avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it's come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on. 'I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative. 'I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. 'Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation & set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.' Kim had been at the centre of the row after Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz, 30, claimed that she felt uncomfortable around her, with sources close to the US heiress saying that Kim had dated Brooklyn when they were teenagers. Which she had now denied. Things came to a head when Brooklyn and Nicola were no shows at any of David's 50th birthday celebrations last month, with The Mail revealing that Kim has been made the 'scapegoat' in the feud. Brooklyn and his wife Nicola failed to attend any of football legend David's five celebrations to mark his milestone birthday, including celebrations in Miami, London, Paris the Cotswolds and a boys fishing trip to Scotland. Among the various conspiracy theories that sprung up to explain Brooklyn and Nicola's repeated no-shows, some centred on Kim. Kim, is the well-heeled granddaughter of renowned post-war sculptor and painter William Turnbull, while her father Alex Turnbull and uncle Johnny were part of the post-punk band 23 Skidoo, formed in 1979. US website TMZ wrote at the time: 'Sources say Brooklyn and Nicola were told to show up to the main celebrations or they wouldn't get a chance to see the family... leaving the two saddened because they simply won't be around Brooklyn's brother Romeo and his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.' 'Sources' also told the news outlet that Nicola can't stand to be in Kim's company. Following their split, friends say that things remain 'amicable' between the Romeo and ex Kim, and that their parting is 'nothing to do' with Kim being blamed by Nicola for being the catalyst for the feud that has ripped the Beckham family apart. One said: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up. 'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be. 'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them. 'David and Victoria would hate for the view to be that they split because of Nicola and Brooklyn because that simply isn't the case. 'The fact is that Kim has got a really busy career as a DJ and Romeo has a busy work life too, there is lots of travelling for both of them at having a relationship at this time isn't all that conducive to their lives.' Romeo and Kim were spotted at the trendy C restaurant in London's Mayfair last month but they had already split. They both turned up at the venue separately, with their friends, and even left together. Kim attended several of David's birthday celebrations. She was present at the former England captain's party at the end of March at Cipriani restaurant in Miami. She also joined David, Victoria, and Romeo's younger brother Cruz, his girlfriend Jackie Apostel and sister Harper on their trip to France where they visited a vineyard in Bordeaux and a restaurant in Paris. Kim was also at the big dinner at Core restaurant in Notting Hill, West London. But the tensions between Nicola and the Beckham family existed long before Kim and Romeo started dating in November last year. In fact, they stretch back over three years, to Brooklyn and Nicola's lavish £3million wedding, on Palm Beach, Florida, in April 2022. 'Some felt that Nicola was absolutely foul in the run up to the wedding and on the day,' said one source involved in the fall out. 'And now it seems she is trying to suggest it is all Kim's fault. 'She was rude to Victoria, she shunned other members of the Beckham family and now it appears she wants to blame it all on Kim, which is just nasty. It is like they are trying to rewrite history. 'Nicola and her family organised her and Brooklyn's big day and they managed to upset so many people who were there. It was terribly upsetting for David, Victoria and other members of their family. It was difficult at the time but it is devastating now.' The insider claimed Nicola's behaviour at the wedding changed David and Victoria's perception of their new daughter-in-law. 'That was when the Beckhams realised that it was not going to be easy being part of [Nicola's] super-rich family. Some people felt that Nicola was vile. The Beckham gang just adore Brooklyn and wanted to be part of it all. 'Now Nicola is singling Kim out and seems to be making it her fault but she only started dating Romeo last November. Relations have been strained since the wedding and there has been much concern for Brooklyn ever since.'
