Romeo Beckham's ex Kim Turnbull speaks out on rumours and lies after denying she ever dated Brooklyn: 'It's tough when people are saying things that don't align with your character and your values'
Kim Turnbull has spoken out on her 'tough' experience with fame after splitting from Romeo Beckham and hitting back at rumours that she dated his brother Brooklyn.
The brunette beauty, who only recently split from Romeo, 22, shot down accusations that she was romantically involved with Brooklyn, 26 in a statement posted to her Instagram account, explaining: 'I will not continue to receive harassment or be embarrassed on the basis of lies, to fit a certain narrative.
'I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question.
Soon after Romeo shared a cryptic post about 'spreading unnecessary lies'.
And now in a new interview with The Sunday Times Style Magazine, the DJ and model has opened up about how she deals with the limelight and juggling rumours about herself.
She said: 'There are situations that you find yourself in that present you with new aspects, but at the same time I think it has always been something that I've been around and seen, so I just take it day by day and try to focus on the positives.
'Sometimes it's difficult to block things out because a lot of the time there are things said that are not necessarily true or necessarily positive, and your instinctive reaction is to want to be like, no, that's not true!
'But I think what I've learnt, at this point in life, is to try and take it with a pinch of salt.'
Kim continued: 'It's definitely tough, whatever it is, when people are saying things about you that aren't necessarily true and, most importantly in my opinion, don't align with your character and your values.
'You want to turn around and reply to every comment and have your say in it, but at the end of the day you just can't.'
Kim had been at the centre of the Beckham family fallout, after Brooklyn's wife Nicola Peltz, 30, reportedly claimed that she felt uncomfortable around her.
Things came to a head when Brooklyn and Nicola were no shows at any of David's 50th birthday celebrations last month, with The Mail revealing that Kim has been made the 'scapegoat' in the feud.
Brooklyn and his wife Nicola snubbed the football legend David's five celebrations to mark his milestone birthday, including celebrations in Miami, London, Paris the Cotswolds and a boys fishing trip to Scotland.
He also failed to acknowledge his dad for Father's Day, despite David and Victoria publicly reaching out to their son.
Earlier this month the Mail exclusively revealed Kim and Romeo had split after seven months together.
Sources said how the pair's relationship had 'fizzled out' and their parting had 'nothing to do' with Nicola Peltz.
A pal said: 'Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up.
'They have been friendly since and have even been at the same venues. It's a huge shame, particularly as David and Victoria really adored her and thought she made Romeo happy but it wasn't to be.
'It happened a couple of weeks ago and relations have remained friendly between them.'
Kim, is the well-heeled granddaughter of renowned post-war sculptor and painter William Turnbull, while her father Alex Turnbull and uncle Johnny were part of the post-punk band 23 Skidoo, formed in 1979.
She dated Madonna and Guy Ritchie's son Rocco, and through that connection was part of a tightknit friendship group in 2016 which included Brooklyn.
Kim and Brooklyn were undeniably close for a brief period – as photographs of them together at the time show - but suggestions that they were ever an item are wide of the mark.
That Kim has now been 'thrown to the wolves' as the reason behind the family row is 'deeply upsetting' to Brooklyn's parents and brothers.
US website TMZ wrote at the time: 'Sources say Brooklyn and Nicola were told to show up to the main celebrations or they wouldn't get a chance to see the family... leaving the two saddened because they simply won't be around Brooklyn's brother Romeo and his girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.'

Simon Cowell flashes a huge smile despite getting 'lost' during sun-soaked outing on his £8K e-bike - five years after breaking his back in horror cycle crash
Simon Cowell flashed a huge smile despite getting lost amid a sun-soaked outing on his £8K e-bike in Central London on Sunday. The music mogul, 65, was spotted by a surprised fan as he cycled through the busy streets, before stopping to chat with them outside a pub. Simon, who broke his back after falling from a similar model in 2020, wore a black puffer jacket and shorts while shielding his eyes behind shades. In a clip shared to TikTok fans in a passing car were stunned to see the Britain's Got Talent judge and pulled over to ask if he was 'scared' cycling amongst the traffic. Cool as a cucumber Simon quipped: 'I got lost, but it's quicker' before promising them he would be safe as he carried on his journey. Earlier this month, the TV star revealed fearing he would never walk again following the near-fatal crash five years ago. Simon was thrown off an electric bike when he was testing the vehicle at his home in Malibu, California. He underwent extensive surgery after the shock accident including having a metal rod put in his back to stabilise it and he has overhauled his lifestyle in the years since. Now, Simon has spoken more about the devastating impact of the crash, revealing his surgeon didn't know if he'd be able to ' fix' his back due to the severity of the injury. Speaking to Elizabeth Day on the How To Fail podcast, Simon revealed he 'could have died' in the accident and his surgeon warned him he might never walk again. He shared: 'He showed me the X-ray and he said ''look, I'm not going to lie Simon, I don't know if I can fix this, which means you probably won't walk and secondly, the operation could take 11 hours''. 'They said the obvious - it could go wrong - and all I could think about was my family and everything. In that moment you kind of realise the most important thing is your health and don't do stupid things.' The former X Factor judge said the horror accident was a major 'wake-up call' about his 'crazy' lifestyle and taught him to stop taking risks in life. 'It was a wake-up moment, which is I'm crazy,' he explained. 'It kind of happened for a reason because I thought I was fit but then when I had to do all the physio after, just walking, they make you walk very quickly, I pretty much couldn't move and then I started to walk a lot and thought ''oh God, I was in a really bad place''.' Reflecting on the accident itself, Simon revealed he was thrown from his e-bike after it did a massive 'wheelie' due to the power of the throttle, and said he immediately knew he had broken his back. 'I shipped it in from England, couldn't wait to drive it. I was in the driveway and my son was there and I pulled the throttle, it did the biggest wheelie and it threw me like 7-8ft in the air,' he said. 'I landed on my back and the second I landed I thought ''s**t, I know I've broken my back'' because I could feel it. 'The first thing I did was ''can I move my hands?'', yes, ''can I move my feet?'', yes, OK, that's not too bad.' Though his surgeon initially feared he would be paralysed from the accident, Simon has made a full recovery and says he is now fitter than he was before the crash. He has since shed three stone and has gradually ditched smoking, which saw him have 80 cigarettes a day at the height of his habit. In 2023, he told The Sun: 'I was so close to living the rest of my life in a wheelchair, it gives you a completely different outlook on life. In a positive way. 'It hurt - trust me - when it happened, but good things happened off the back of it.' Simon said it led him to realise his health was 'more important' than anything else and he completely overhauled his lifestyle to find a better work-life balance. The accident also made him focus on his family life with his partner Lauren Silverman and their son Eric, 11, and he also cut down on his work amid the Covid-19 pandemic. Simon previously smoked up to 80 cigarettes per day before reducing his use to just two each day in 2017 after falling down the stairs of his London home. He used to work through the entire night, but he now refuses to work past 6pm or on his days off.

Campaign launched to bring only Turner oil painting of Bristol back to city
A fundraising campaign has been launched to bring one of the earliest works by JMW Turner back to the city of Bristol where the artist painted it when he was 17 years old. The Rising Squall, Hot Wells, from St Vincent's Rock, Bristol, had remained tucked away in private collections since it was last exhibited in Tasmania, Australia, in 1858. Last year, it was authenticated as a pivotal early work by Turner – after the artist's signature was discovered during cleaning. The piece, depicting the Avon Gorge before the Clifton Suspension Bridge was built, was the first oil painting exhibited by Turner at the Royal Academy in 1793 aged just 18. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery is now keen to acquire the work, which is believed to be the only oil painting Turner made of the city. It has launched a one-week public fundraising campaign, called Bring Turner Home, to raise £100,000 towards the purchase of the painting, which will go under the hammer at Sotheby's on July 2. If the bid is successful, the piece will become part of Bristol's public collection and go on display this summer. Philip Walker, head of culture and creative industries at Bristol City Council, said: 'This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring a lost masterpiece back to Bristol, a painting that connects our city to one of the greatest artists in history at a defining moment in his life. 'Turner painted this scene when he was just 17, inspired by the dramatic beauty of the Avon Gorge. 'Now, over two centuries later, we have the chance to bring it home where it can belong to everyone. We want this painting to be part of the city's story, accessible to all and inspiring to future generations. 'We know this is a hugely ambitious fundraising campaign with a ridiculously small window to raise the money, but Bristol is internationally renowned for its art and culture, and we just can't miss the opportunity to try and go for it. 'It would be an absolute travesty if Bristol's lost Turner is sold to a private or overseas buyer.' The council is believed to be the only public bidder attempting to secure the piece, which has an estimate of £200,000 to £300,000. Turner painted The Rising Squall during a visit to Bristol in 1792, when he became fascinated by the dramatic scenery of the Avon Gorge. It is based on an on-the-spot drawing found in Turner's Bristol and Malmesbury sketchbook, which he used on a tour of the West Country in 1791, and a watercolour the following year. The piece was bought by the Rev Robert Nixon, an early supporter of Turner who the artist used to stay with. Early biographies of Turner record that the artist painted his first oil piece in Rev Nixon's house. Rev Nixon's son, the Rev Dr Francis Russell Nixon, Lord Bishop of Tasmania, inherited the painting before it was acquired by the publisher Joseph Hogarth in the early 1860s. It went up for auction at Christie's in London in 1864 before going to a private collection in Northamptonshire until it was anonymously sold in April 2024. During that auction, at Dreweatts in Newbury, the piece was wrongly attributed to 'follower of Julius Caesar Ibbetson', an 18th-century artist. Restoration work then took place – revealing the signature 'W Turner' on the lower left of the canvas. Until that point, it had been believed that Turner's earliest exhibited oil painting was a piece known as Fisherman at Sea – which he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1796. Bristol Museum & Art Gallery aims to exhibit the piece in as early as August this year, before it travels to Tate Britain for its major exhibition Turner and Constable in November. A council spokeswoman said: 'No council funding will be used to buy the painting. 'Instead, the museum is turning to the people of Bristol and supporters of art and heritage across the country to help raise the funds needed to ensure the painting remains in public ownership, rather than entering a private collection.'
