Hailey Bieber Combines Two Major (And Divisive) Summer Trends in One Outfit

Hailey Bieber made her way back to one of her favorite lunch spots, the celebrity haunt Bar Pitti—where often, you'll catch Bieber, Kendall Jenner, or a Hadid sister—yesterday (June 21). This time saw Bieber experiment with two of this summer's most proponent—and divisive—trends. The Rhode founder and model stepped out wearing a pair of white and black polka dot capri pants from Spanish cool girl brand Paloma Wool, pairing the statement trousers with a plain black sleeveless top, square-toed thong sandals, and a structured square mini handbag. Other accessories were minimal, with a thin strapped gold watch and some oval sunglasses. Bieber was photographed leaving the restaurant with her friend, musician Justine Skye—who she most recently enjoyed a girls trip to the wine country with. In terms of beauty, Bieber kept it low-key, with her long brunette hair kept loose and natural, and her still painted frosé nails. Photo: Backgrid It was a look that was a little bit off the usual beaten path for the Hailey Bieber school of style, given the statement print. But polka dots have abounded across the last few seasons—from the runways of Moschino and Rodarte in the forms of dotted, floaty, feminine dresses perfect for summer, to Bode's twists on the dotty pattern, Brandon Maxwell's artistic interpretation of the print, and Talia Byre's Dalmatian spots. Still, the controversial capri pant silhouette has been a staple Bieber has been enjoying, as is the barely there shoe, and the oval set of shades. If capri pants are good enough for the Olsen twins on The Row's runways, and while we're all reveling in a summer inspired by Audrey Hepburn's Sabrina, the silhouette makes even more sense for Hailey Bieber. It's not just Bieber, either: Bella Hadid and Zoe Kravitz are also proponents of the pedal pusher revival. A golden tan doesn't hurt when you're going for a white-based statement print either. Seeing spots? Add to cart.

Kaia Gerber Embraces The Polka Dot Trend With A French Girl Twist

(Photo by TheStewartofNY/GC Images) This year, the polka boom seems to be in full swing. From red carpets to street style, we're seeing this tried and tested print all over, with names like Olivia Rodrigo, Selena Gomez, and even Kate Middleton partaking in the trend. Now, it looks like we can add Kaia Gerber to the list of fans, too. This Thursday, she was seen on her way to the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City in a chic iteration of the style. (Photo by Aeon/GC Images) The model and actress wore a red midi halter dress featuring small white polka dots. A handkerchief hem and relaxed fit offered the piece a current and flirty tone, keeping the look from leaning too retro. To style, Gerber added silver hoops, a simple pendant, and a black shoulder bag. Further keeping with her minimalist sartorial taste, she wore ivory block heels in a ballet style, and tousled waves for glam, giving the outfit a distinctly French feel. The young actress is no stranger to the print, and it seems that for her 2025 style, she is leaning into small linear dots in particular. (Photo byfor W Magazine) In another example, earlier this year, she attended W Magazine 's Annual Best Performances Party in a polka dot Gucci gown. On the bolder side, the gown featured a ruched white bodice with black polka dots, while the black skirt of the dress bore white polka dots. An equally contrasting turquoise bow sat at the hip, accenting the dress's thigh-high slit. Again, Gerber kept styling minimal, with a black clutch and refined baguette earrings. Blown-out curls cascading down in a side part added a further touch of quiet glamour to the look. The American Horror Story alum has given us ample time to prepare our polka dots for the summer, with chic inspiration to boot. topics: Kaia Gerber, tribeca film festival, street style, celebrity, Celebrity Street Style, fashion, celebrity fashion, Summer style, Summer fashion, shopping, celebrity news, Trending

Spotted! Olivia Rodrigo Combines Summer's Hottest Print With Her Love of Short-Shorts

Olivia Rodrigo has a penchant for polka dots, the now transeasonal it-print: Catch her in a spotty sun dress or a dotted ra-ra skirt anytime. And while the musician has a set sense of style—cropped knits and Y2K dresses, grungy plaids, and corset tops—her latest look aligns with two of this summer's more prominent trends. The singer was spotted out in New York yesterday (June 7) prior to her performance at the Governor's Ball. She wore a black boatneck vest top, calf-length black heeled boots, and most notably, a pair of white and black polka dot short-shorts. The low-rise linen shorts are from one of Rodrigo's most-worn brands, Reformation. She slung a black leather and nylon bag over her shoulder, with silver hardware woven through its long strap. On the beauty front, she kept to her usual long straight hair with a definitive middle part, minimal makeup with lined eyes and a nude lip. Polka dots have been popping off for a while, but they were at their most brilliant in the spring summer 2025 shows, from Jacquemus to Acne Studios. Of course, the girlish dot always finds a home at Miu Miu, too. And in Rodrigo's wardrobe? Polka dots and other playful prints abound, with a dotted ladylike shift dresses with Miu Miu accessories, summer halters via Reformation once again, and a flirty Alessandra Rich mini-dress. You'll more often than not also find Rodrigo in more grungy checks and plaids a la the GUTS era. Photo: Instagram (@oliviarodrigo) Yesterday evening, Rodrigo hit the Governor's Ball stage and brought out Talking Heads legend David Byrne for a special duet of 'Burning Down The House.' Rodrigo also took the moment to debut some new costumes, with several iterations of short-shorts. One look saw the singer don a red leather bra and matching studded silver hot pants. Another saw her change into a graphic tee and black 'I LOVE NY' crystal bikini, with even shorter pants-slash-shorts and a chunky studded waist belt, with black combat boots.

‘Love this' cry shoppers as they run to Tesco for summer co-ord that's ‘stunning on'

THE warmer weather is set to return this weekend, so it's the perfect chance to pick up a summer staple in Tesco. The supermarket's in-house fashion label, F&F, is renowned for its stylish buys at affordable prices. 3 3 And if you're looking for a timeless but trendy co-ord to add to your outfit rotation, you've come to the right place. Fashion fans have insisted the new Tesco polka dot two-piece looks "stunning on" and hailed it as a must-have for summer. The black polka dot midi skirt is priced at £22.50, while the matching puff sleeve cropped top will cost you £16 Both pieces come in sizes six to 22 and are available in-store and on the newly launched F&F website. They can be worn together, or pair the top with jeans and heels and the skirt with a Skims dupe bodysuit to get extra wear out of them. Describing the co-ord online, the Tesco team say: "Complete with a split hem detail, this midi skirt adds a classic touch to your daily essentials. "Designed with an all-over polka dot print, the relaxed silhouette and gathered waistband make it ideal for dressed-up events. "Team with the matching top for a statement look. "From its polka dot print to its short puff sleeves, this top is a on-trend piece in your dressed-up wardrobe." Unsurprisingly, fashion fans have been in a frenzy over the monochrome buys since spotting them on the rails. I work at Tesco and there's so much newness in store - I love it all, but a holiday co-ord is sure to be a sell out One gushed: "Seen this in store today, it is absolutely stunning." "Love this", chimed in a second. A third wrote: "Bet this would be stunning on!" "I bought this as a 5ft1 girl I love it", revealed a fourth. A fifth cried: "Tesco you really have out done yourself…. Girls get yourself to Tesco." Meanwhile, a sixth added: "I've bought this wearing it brunching tomorrow." Welcomed News While supermarket clothing used to be drab and something only your nan would wear, they are now keeping up with the likes of Zara and Mango but at a fraction of the price. Many supermarkets list their clothing online along with homeware but there's one that didn't join the party, Tesco. But it seems the retailer has finally listened to customers and has put their fashion items online for the first time in seven years. Fashion ranges launched by the firm have garnered huge social media attention, with some going as far to say that it is the "new Zara". The news has taken shoppers by storm, who are thrilled they don't have to hunt for viral items in stores anymore. Details of the launch were confirmed in Tesco's financial results published earlier this year in April. And shoppers have been excited for the launch, taking to social media, one wrote: "OMG I'm so glad it's coming back." A third added: "Yes! I've missed them being online." The supermarket launched it's fashion brand F&F online discreetly at the start of May. Is supermarket fashion the new high street? DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale weighs in: The supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, as you head in to do your weekly food shop you can also pick up a selection of purse-friendly, stylish pieces for all the family. Tesco has just announced a 0.7 per cent increase in the quarter thanks to a 'strong growth in clothing' and M&S has earnt the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street. Asda's clothing line George has made £1.5 million for the supermarket in 2023, 80 per cent of Sainsbury's clothes sold at full price rather than discounted and Nutmeg at Morrisons sales are also up 2 per cent in the past year. So what is it about supermarket fashion that is becoming so successful? Apart from the clothing actually being affordable, it's good quality too - with many being part of schemes such as the Better Cotton Initiative. A lot of the time they keep to classic pieces that they know will last the customer year after year. Plus because they buy so much stock they can turn around pieces quickly and buy for cheaper because of the volumes.

Six years on from that Zara dress, polka dots are back on trend

Transport yourself back to the summer of 2019, and picture the following scene: it's morning rush hour on the train platform. The temperature is a balmy 23 degrees. Around you, commuters are preparing for a day in the office and, by some bizarre twist of fashion fate, they're all wearing the same thing: a £39.99 Zara midi dress, white with black polka-dots. For months that year, it seemed as if 'The Dress' (as it became known) was inescapable, popping up not just at work but at summer barbecues, on nights out, in the aisles of Tesco and even on the telly, thanks to BBC presenter Victoria Derbyshire. Wherever you looked, everyone was hot for spots. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Hot 4 The Spot (@hot4thespot) Every bubble must burst, however, and soon polka-dots began to feel tired – less Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, more high street sale rail. Since then, the print has fallen out of favour, readily replaced first by a flurry of florals and now by a succession of on-trend block colours, from mocha and dove grey, to this spring's must-have butter yellow. It seemed as if polka-dots had been retired by most of us for good – until the Princess of Wales reintroduced them in a way that felt enticingly fresh once more. For the recent Thanksgiving service to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day, Catherine pulled an old favourite from the back of her wardrobe: an Alessandra Rich polka-dot midi dress, which she last wore in 2023. Her appearance followed hot on the heels of fashion's biggest night out, the Met Gala, at which actress Priyanka Chopra stole the show in a slickly tailored, custom polka-dot gown by Balmain. Elegant, understated and with a touch of whimsy – suddenly, spots look right again. 'They have an enduring charm that sets them apart from other patterns like florals and stripes,' says Orlagh McCloskey, co-founder of Rixo. 'There's a classic quality to them – think Jane Birkin's printed ties and the outfits of old Hollywood stars like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn.' Kay Barron, fashion director at Net-a-Porter, also cites Kate's late mother-in-law as a key reference: 'Princess Diana was known for her iconic polka-dot looks – the two that stand out to me are the blue-and-red dress she wore to the Othello premiere in 1986, and the navy-and-white look she wore to Ascot in 1988, complete with a matching hat.' Whoever you choose as your inspiration, the real beauty of a dotty print lies in how easy it is to style. Team Rixo's cotton Eleanor dress with white heels and a matching clutch and you're good to go for any event. Follow Catherine's lead with The Kooples' floaty shirt dress – a clear winner for the Chelsea Flower Show, Royal Ascot or a smart summer party. Take a leaf from the Princess' book and pair it with all-black accessories. Barron suggests styling polka-dots with another, contrasting pattern for a modern update on the look. 'For spring/summer 2025, Acne Studios really stood out for showcasing polka-dots on the runway, especially skirts paired with clashing prints,' she says. Try Me+Em's maxi dress with Reformation's leopard print 'Winnie' mules for a contemporary take on siren style. Silk Polka Dot Maxi Dress + Corsage, £595, Me+Em One important consideration with polka-dots is their size. As McCloskey explains, 'smaller dots add a delicate, subtle charm to designs, perfect for a more refined look,' while larger prints 'make a bold statement that can turn a simple outfit into a standout one'. For example, French Connection's strappy frock looks plucked straight from the cupboard of Betty Draper, while Sézane's 'Rosie' dress is more statement-making – try it with a pair of sculptural earrings, like the 'Flower Bud' design from YSSO. After several years of skulking behind the scenes, monochrome polka-dots are ready to take centre stage once again. 'While they bring a sense of fun and playfulness to an outfit, there's still something so timeless about them,' explains Barron. And honestly? She's spot on. Shop some dots...
