Trailer For Jamie Foxx and Robert De Niro's Action Thriller TIN SOLDIER — GeekTyrant

Here's a trailer for a upcoming action thriller titled Tin Soldier , which stars Jamie Foxx, Robert De Niro, Scott Eastwood, and John Leguizamo. With a great cast like that, you might expect a good movie, but this looks super generic! I'm not sure how they pulled that casting off! The synopsis for the film reads: 'Jamie Foxx will put you under his spell in this cult compound extraction thriller. The Bokushi preaches to hundreds of war veterans, drawn to the promise of protection and purpose under him. 'Surrounded by his devout military-trained followers, he has built an impenetrable fortress & amassed an arsenal. After several failed infiltration attempts, the government – in the form of operative Emmanuel Ashburn – recruits Nash Cavanaugh, an ex-special forces asset, who was once a disciple of The Bokushi. 'Nash agrees to use his vulnerable past & insider knowledge of the enigmatic leader to finally get revenge on the man who took everything from him, including the love of his life.' Tin Soldier is directed by Brad Furman (The Take, The Lincoln Lawyer, Runner Runner) and it's set to be released direct-to-streaming in the UK on July 23rd, 2025.

‘Bride Hard' Review: Taking on Baddies at Her Best Friend's Wedding

If ever there were two genres that traffic in too-muchness, it's the destination-wedding rom-com and the secret agent action-thriller. So call it fate that over-the-top meets outlandishly excessive in 'Bride Hard,' a spoofy genre mash-up whose raison d'être can be boiled down to this line, uttered late in the proceedings: 'She's using the chocolate fountain as cover.' The 'she' is Sam, a.k.a. Agent Dragonfly, who leaps into muscular, gravity-defying action to take on a group of interloping baddies at her best friend's wedding, all while wearing a frilly bridesmaid's dress. She's played to perfection by the ever-game Rebel Wilson, leading a cast that leans earnestly and ably into the escalating absurdity. Working from a screenplay by Shaina Steinberg, the director Simon West, who until now has focused mainly on such outings in mayhem and stunt work as 'The Mechanic' and 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider,' lands this hybrid beast in the realm of the sort-of caper and the not-quite romp. Sam is a devoted spy whose preposterous cover story is one of the screenplay's funnier jokes, and who's barely had time to participate in the countless bachelorette rituals for the bride-to-be Betsy (a high-spirited Anna Camp). Feeling neglected, Betsy has demoted her bestie from maid of honor to bridesmaid — much to the delight of the groom's sister, a control freak expertly brought to passive-aggressive life by Anna Chlumsky. The extravagant nuptials, on a private island off the coast of Savannah, Ga., grind to a halt with the arrival by speedboat of a gruff mercenary named Kurt (Stephen Dorff), who is in pursuit of a cache of gold. Cue an assortment of purposely ridiculous chases and explosions, and the chance to see Sam wield hair supplies as weapons and go mano a mano with Kurt's henchmen and the weaselly best man (Justin Hartley). The rest of the wedding party is a collection of one-note types played with conviction, among them the sunny groom (Sam Huntington) and a sex-obsessed bridesmaid (Da'Vine Joy Randolph). A smorgasbord of unconvincing danger and semi-schmaltzy lessons in friendship, 'Bride Hard' is rarely as funny as it could be. Opportunities for satirical digs go mostly unplumbed, although you might note that a key prop is a Civil War cannon. You might also note a glaring continuity gaffe in the final sequence, an apt reminder not to give any of this a second thought. Bride HardRated R for sexual references and some violence. Running time: 1 hour 45 minutes. In theaters.

Kate Beckinsale sues producers of thriller Canary Black over ‘unsafe conditions'

Kate Beckinsale is suing the producers of Canary Black, the 2024 action thriller in which she starred, over claims she suffered 'severe and debilitating injuries' as a result of 'unsafe conditions'. In news first reported by Puck, Beckinsale's legal complaint was filed anonymously in June 2024, but has now been refiled under her full name Kathrin Beckinsale. The document claims that Beckinsale was routinely compelled to work 15-hour days during the film's shoot, which began in September 2022 in Croatia. Added to this, Beckinsale alleges that the workout equipment and physical trainers she had requested to 'stay in top shape for the physical demands of the role' were not provided, and she subsequently suffered 'a complex meniscus tear in her left knee' as a result of a scene in which she was thrown into a wall, which was aggravated when she was 'coerced' into performing 'unsafe action sequences' after she returned to work. The document adds that Beckinsale's stunt performer broke her ankle and 'rather than replace her with a competent and qualified stunt [performer]', the producers 'hired an unqualified stunt woman who was simply the girlfriend of the stunt coordinator'. The legal complaint also includes communications between Beckinale's agent Shani Rosenzweig and the film's producers, with Rosenzweig criticising the lack of preparation and training for the film's action sequences. Rosenzweig wrote: 'No one is actually taking real action to put a plan in place to fix this situation …' Before demanding to know: 'How you are … making sure your lead actress works 12 hour days and has time to prep for work on her own when she leaves the set while getting the rest her body so desperately needs. If you're trying to kill a person, you're doing a great job.' A message in response from John Zois, one of the film's producers, reads: 'I don't know what else to say other than you're right … The days are too packed for the pace we are moving and it's CLEARLY not sustainable.' The Guardian has contacted Zois and the film's sales representatives Anton for comment.
