Founded in 1990, the Atlanta-based company currently operates over 950 locations in 17 states, according to its website. The fast food chicken chain specializes in serving "delicious Chicken Fingerz, Zalads, wings, and signature sauces with Southern hospitality and a modern twist," the company's website reads. Zaxbys' primary market is the Southeast, as the company has a heavy presence in states like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi, among others. The company said in a June 12 email to USA TODAY that it is beginning to expand out west, with recent openings in Nevada and Arizona. The company said in a June 12 email to USA TODAY that it has opened 16 new locations so far in 2025, including its most recent "new state entry" in Nevada earlier this summer. Zaxbys has already opened one new location in Las Vegas, with a second one slated to open in July. "In addition to these new market ventures, Zaxbys has continued to expand in previously established Southeast markets in 2025 with new locations through Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Indiana, Tennessee and more," the company told USA TODAY via email. Zaxbys has two new Georgia locations. See where the chicken restaurants are located
Zaxby's is expanding its footprint in Georgia. Just a few weeks ago, the fast food chain opened one new location with another opening very soon. Here's what we know: On May 12, Zaxbys opened its 3,000 square foot Richmond Hill location at 100 Pioneer Way. It can seat 56 guests. The other is a 2,500 square foot location in Cochran at 174 E. Dykes St. which will be opening soon. It will seat 36 guests. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held by the Cochran-Bleckley Chamber of Commerce at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 2. The restaurant also opened a new location in Valdosta in February. Last October, the chain opened a drive-thru only location in Garden City. Zaxbys brings back a fan favorite — and it's here to stay. What to know
A Zaxbys fan favorite is back for good, and just in time for the chain's 35th birthday. Handcrafted milkshakes will return to menus permanently at all Zaxbys locations by summer, the Georgia-based chicken chain said in a May 19 news release. To celebrate, all shakes are half off starting Monday, May 19, through June 1 at participating Zaxbys locations nationwide, the restaurant said. No additional purchase is necessary. The hand-spun treats are available in four flavors: ChocolateVanillaStrawberryBirthday Cake 'At Zaxbys, we believe every great celebration deserves something sweet — and what better way to mark our 35th birthday than by bringing back our fan-favorite milkshakes,' Patrick Schwing, chief marketing and strategy officer for Zaxbys, said in the release. The 20 oz. treats start at $4.99 and are slated to be in all restaurants permanently by June, Zaxbys said. Milkshakes were missing from menus for seven years before Zaxbys tested them exclusively in Macon and surrounding cities in 2024, McClatchy News reported. At the time, Zaxbys teamed up with Macon's tourism bureau, Visit Macon, to encourage travelers to explore the 'hidden gems, iconic landmarks, and storied history' of the city, about 80 miles southeast from Atlanta.
