Rangers told exactly what Jamie Vardy wants with 49ers on double duty for 10 club transfer battle royal
The veteran striker is in demand this summer after leaving Leicester City as a free agent In-demand Jamie Vardy will want guaranteed game time from his next move and a "less intense" environment than the Premier League for his next move. That's the view of former Leicester City and England striker Emile Heskey amid interest in his signature from Rangers. The Light Blues are said to be among the club chasing the 38-year-old after his Leicester exit with the new owners Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises eyeing a landmark deal. But they are far from the only clubs eyeing a deal - with repots in Spain suggesting the 49ers are doubling up on their interest in Vardy. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Vardy has interest from Leeds United as well as the Scottish Premiership side - with the Premier League new boys also owned by the NFL giants investment wing. La Liga sides Villarreal, Valencia, Real Betis, and Sevilla are all said to have "shown interest" in Vardy as he weights up his next move. Austrian outfit RB Salzburg and Major League Soccer side Charlotte FC are also said to be monitoring the veteran striker alongside cash-rich Championship men Wrexham. And Heskey reckons that the chance to make a move Stateside could appeal to the attacker - rather than join Russell Martin and his American revolution due to the level of intensity of the MLS. He told VBET: "It all depends on what Jamie Vardy wants to do with the rest of his career. "There are plenty of teams in the bottom half of the Premier League who could benefit from his experience and goal threat from the bench. But I can't see him being a starter in the Premier League. "If Vardy went and played for Wrexham in the Championship, it would be a lot of games for him to endure at his age. "I played in the Championship at 37, it was relentless, the stress of those games at that age felt much worse than it ever did in the Premier League, so it won't be easy for him if he signs for Wrexham. "Rangers would be a similar story to the Premier League, a little bit less intense, fewer games, but also less game time, I'd imagine. "If I were Vardy, I'd probably go and play abroad. If he has offers from the MLS or somewhere similar, I would go and enjoy football while getting a lot of game time, scoring goals in a less intense environment than the Championship." Becky Vardy says 'I've been treated worse than a paedophile' as she pays Coleen
Rebekah Vardy says 'Ive been treated worse then a paedophile' in new interview Rebekah Vardy says she was 'treated worse than a paedophile' over the Wagatha Christie court cases and Coleen Rooney allegations. The wife of footballer Jamie Vardy says she is now moving on from her clash with Coleen Rooney and subsequent multimillion pound court case. But speaking to Vanity Fair she insisted her treatment was unfair and she insisted that she 'got the raw end of that'. 'In fact, I think murderers and pedophiles have faced far less scrutiny than I did,' Vardy added. When the court case took place a lot was made of the clothes Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney wore to court, with the majority of fashion experts judging Coleen to come out on top. But Vardy insisted in the new interview she was not a typical wag when it came to clothes. 'I am polar opposite to what you would class as the typical WAG,' Vardy told Vanity Fair. 'I'm not bothered. I will go out head to toe in Zara where someone else's wife or girlfriend has to be head to toe in Prada.' In May a judge said Vardy must pay more than £1.4m of Coleen Rooney's legal costs following their libel battle, Coleen ran up a legal bill totalling more than £1.8m while successfully defending herself against Mrs Vardy's High Court claim in 2022. After Mrs Vardy lost the case, court documents showed she had been ordered to pay 90% of Coleen's costs. Earlier on Tuesday, a specialist costs court was told that Vardy had agreed to pay £1.19m to Coleen, who was also asking for a further £315,000 in "assessment costs". Costs judge Mark Whalan then said it was "reasonable and proportionate" for Vardy to pay her an additional £212,266. This took the total to just over £1.4m, including interest. Coleen publicly accused someone using Vardy's Instagram account of leaking private information about her to the press. Sparking headlines around the world for weeks, Coleen famously wrote on social media: 'It's ……….Rebekah Vardy's account.' Vardy sued her for libel, but Mrs Justice Steyn found in July 2022 that the allegation was "substantially true". The judge later ordered Mrs Vardy to pay 90% of Coleen's costs

Vardy could lead Rangers out of Celtic's shadow in Scotland
Jamie Vardy has enjoyed a remarkable career but now his time at Leicester City is about to finish it is intriguing to ponder what his next move will be. After being rejected by Sheffield Wednesday at 16 and playing non-league football for Stockbridge Park Steels and Fleetwood Town, he joined the Foxes in a club record £1million deal scoring 200 goals in 500 appearances in all competitions. He was instrumental in helping the club to an historic 5000/1 Premier League title in the 2015/16 campaign while also lifting the FA Cup four years ago and he won 26 caps for England, hitting the net seven times. But now he has cleared his locker in the King Power Stadium dressing room and will part ways with the midlands club he has called home for the past 13 years when his contract expires on July 1 and the big question is where will he play next? Wrexham and Birmingham are possible destinations but if he wanted to appear in the Championship he would surely have stayed where he was. He would love to stay in the top flight and Premier League newcomers Leeds, Burnley and Sunderland could all use an impact player capable of banging in the goals as they battle for top-flight survival. But while Vardy will want to be one of the first names scrawled on his new club's team sheet, at the ripe old age of 38 he may have to settle for a place on the bench rather than being a regular starter at that level, even if he remains fitter than a butcher's dog. A move to Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer may appeal financially but so would being in the spotlight north of the border. Both Celtic and Rangers would benefit from his services and there has been talk in Glasgow that Vardy may be heading to Ibrox. New manager Russell Martin would know all about the striker's prowess having watched his devastating finishing from close quarters when he was in charge at Southampton and helping Rangers climb out of Celtic's shadow by winning the Scottish Premiership would not only enable Vardy to win another medal, it would make him an absolute legend in the blue half of the city. He's 6/1 with Ladbrokes and Coral to join Everton, 5/1 with Unibet to join any Italian club and 4/1 with Coral and Ladbrokes to be playing for a side in the United States next season. But a flutter on the 7/2 offered by those two firms and William Hill to sign for Rangers appears to be money in the bank. Rebekah Vardy puts huge £9.7million home on market after 'time for change'
The magnificent property in the exclusive golf resort of Quinta do Lago has been used by the Vardy family as a holiday home, and been advertised as a 'sanctuary' for the couple Rebekah Vardy is putting her lavish Portuguese villa, which she and husband Jamie refer to as their 'sanctuary', on the market for a hopeful £9.7million. Just last month, Rebekah, 43, was instructed by a judge to contribute £1.2m towards Coleen Rooney's legal fees, in addition to her own bill, believed to be over £2million, from the disastrous libel claim she initiated in 2022. The High Court case left her reputation 'in ruins' and had a similar impact on her 'brand' with potential advertisers. While her husband Jamie, 38, has remained one of the Premier League's top earners, raking in an estimated £7.3m at Leicester City last season, and now rumoured to be considering a transfer to Manchester United, reports have speculated that the family may have decided to sell the home due to the significant hit from the Wagatha scandal and its fallout. Giant palm tree that 'adds a sunny desert island feel to your patio' has £150 off In recent years, the Vardys have let out their cherished villa on the exclusive golf resort of Quinta do Lago for up to £30,000 a week, but they've now reluctantly decided to put it up for sale. However, a friend of the couple told the Mirror: "They are selling the Portuguese pad - and are looking at different holiday places now. They had some great times there, but just decided it was time for a change. It's actually laughable for anyone to think it has anything to do with the court case. Nothing could be further from the truth. And that's shown by the fact that they are looking for a new holiday pad." The property has been listed for sale with high-end estate agents Knight Frank, carrying an impressive £9.7 million price tag. Although prices have surged in the Algarve recently, by as much as 16 per cent according to some estimates, the Vardys' villa is certainly priced on the 'optimistic side', according to one agent who spoke to MailOnline under the condition of anonymity. "It's undoubtedly a stunning and very modern property, but there are many more traditionally-styled places in that area which some people might prefer, of similar size, but priced a lot more competitively," he remarked. The villa, boasting three pools, a gym, a steam room and six bedrooms, commands a view over the 18th green of the resort's North course. Knight Frank has praised the property, stating: "This magnificent property, built over four levels, showcases meticulous attention to lifestyle details." The four-storey residence also features a cinema room, roof terrace and sauna, spread across approximately 0.64 acres. The details further reveal: 'In addition to the three external pools, which epitomise a contemporary lifestyle, the villa includes a central electro-chromic glass lift accessing each floor. "The impressively landscaped gardens complement the property's style, creating a true haven for modern living. The villa is conveniently located within walking distance of the golf course and other renowned amenities within the Quinta do Lago resort." In 2022, the couple experienced a fright when their luxury villa was threatened by nearby forest fires. A family insider disclosed to The Sun: "It's been horrifying. Their neighbours have all been evacuated, and one by one, residents are being told to leave their homes. "Becky can see smoke everywhere, and she's terrified about the kids breathing it in. The water is also down, so she's relying on bottled water, which, obviously, there is only a finite amount of at home. "Jamie and their friends and family back home have all been really worried. Things are developing by the hour, but she's praying the fire brigades, who have been brilliant, can get things back under control. She's genuinely worried. Things are evolving by the hour, but she's hoping that the fire brigades, who have been outstanding, can regain control," she expressed. Vardy lost a High Court case against the I'm A Celeb star in 2022 after being publicly accused of leaking stories about her to the media. The infamous Wagatha Christie saga was sparked by a dramatic open letter penned by Mrs Rooney and shared on social media in October 2019. In it, she disclosed that she had played detective to uncover who had been leaking stories to the press. Rooney publicly alleged that Mrs Vardy's account was the source behind three newspaper stories featuring fabricated details she had posted on her private Instagram profile - her trip to Mexico for a 'gender selection' procedure, her plans to return to TV, and the flooding in her home's basement. Rebekah furiously denied the allegation and attempted to sue Coleen, launching a libel case that took the WAGs all the way to the High Court. The 2022 trial didn't go Rebekah 's way and the judge ruled in favour of Rooney.

🎧 Having a party - the rise of Vardy
Jamie Vardy and Marc Albrighton played everything from Championship to Champions League football together at Leicester [Getty Images] With the Jamie Vardy party at Leicester City now over, the striker's remarkable journey to becoming the greatest Foxes goalscorer of all time has been chronicled by BBC Radio Leicester. Former winger Marc Albrighton, who won the Premier League title and lifted the FA Cup alongside the England forward, joins Leicester City commentator Owynn Palmer-Atkin in hosting the five-part series. Advertisement Episode one starts at the beginning of Vardy's remarkable football journey and the disappointment of being released by boyhood club Sheffield Wednesday as a teenager. His time playing for a college team after that was followed by a life-shaping spell at Stocksbridge Park Steels – where he played for six months with an electronic tag on his ankle after being convicted of assault. A 6:00pm curfew that was also imposed on Vardy meant the first two occasions that Neil Aspin went to try watch the forward during his time as Halifax boss, he wasn't there because both matches were evening kick-offs. "From first seeing him, I knew he was a player we had to sign," Aspin said. Advertisement It cost the West Yorkshire club £15,000 to get a player that would go on to score 145 Premier League goals and net seven times in 26 internationals for England. Aspin also tells the story of Vardy coming close to scoring a hat-trick of hat-tricks in one week of his one season with Halifax, which earned him a move to then non-league side Fleetwood Town. It was his golden-boot winning exploits with the Cod Army, which helped them win promotion to the English Football League for the first time in 2011-12, that made Vardy the first non-league player to cost £1m when he then joined Championship club Leicester. Steve Walsh, Leicester City's former head of recruitment, talks about how they landed the future star's signature when Southampton had also been "in for him".
