'Dhurandhar' Having given us the blockbuster 'URI: The Surgical Strike,' director Aditya Dhar is all ready to come back with another gripping, action-oriented venture named 'Dhurandhar.' This time around, he's collaborating for the first time with powerhouse actor Ranveer Singh for a spy thriller based on actual events in India's intelligence past. According to a report in Pinkvilla, the director has already chopped a suspenseful teaser to reveal the scale and energy of Dhurandhar. The teaser guarantees a cinematic experience that's packed with intensity, spying, and high-octane drama. It will be a gift from the makers to Ranveer Singh as well as his fans by giving a first glimpse of this bigger-than-life world of spies and covert missions. The movie is reportedly 75 percent done and the team is hoping to complete the shoot by September this year. Although the release date has not been locked yet, sources indicate a theatrical release is being planned for some time between January and March 2026. Following the shoot of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh will start working on 'Don 3' with Farhan Akhtar in October 2025, followed by a zombie-action movie with Jai Mehta later in 2026. An ensemble cast meets a gripping timeline What makes Dhurandhar more thrilling is its huge cast of renowned actors like Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal will join Singh on screen. All of them have been offered robust, author-supported roles. The story spans several time zones with the core of the movie unfolding in the politically charged 1970s and 1980s in neighbouring country. Present-day locations have also been filmed but details of those are being guarded closely by the filmmakers to maintain suspense and excitement.

After URI: The Surgical Strike, Aditya Dhar is uniting with Ranveer Singh for the first time on Dhurandhar. The film is touted to be a one-of-its-kind spy thriller, which is set against the backdrop of real-life incidents that took in the regime of India's National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. The makers have pulled off a casting coup by bringing together Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan to key author-backed roles in the film. The shoot is going on in full swing, and Pinkvilla has exclusively learnt that the first teaser of Dhurandhar is expected to drop on Ranveer Singh's Birthday on July 6. ' Aditya Dhar has locked a solid teaser to launch his ambitious directorial, Dhurandhar. It's a birthday special unit, that will introduce the world of this espionage to the cinema-going audience. This would mark the first official asset of the film, and the entire team is confident to take the audience on a thrilling ride. It's a birthday gift from the makers to Ranveer Singh and his fans,' revealed a source close to the development. The source further added that Jio Studios, Aditya Dhar, and Ranveer Singh are excited for the teaser, which presents all the stars in the most larger-than-life avatars on the spectacle. 'Dhurandhar is a period espionage thriller primarily set in the era of 1970s and 1980s in Pakistan. The film also has some present-day elements, which have been kept under wraps for now, as Ajit Doval continues to be a celebrated persona in the system with a legacy spanning 4-decades,' the source added. Around 75 percent of Dhurandhar has already been shot and the makers are aiming to call it a wrap on the film by the month of September. A release date for Dhuandhar will be announced once the film's shoot is wrapped up, but the team at Jio Studios along with Aditya Dhar are aiming for a release in the window of January to March at this point of time. After Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh moves on to the Farhan Akhtar-directed Don 3 by October 2025, and finally, the Jai Mehta directed Zombie Film around July 2026. Ranveer Singh sparked speculation over producing the new Shaktimaan series amid claims that the actor acquired the rights to the show. In the past months, the rumors stated that the new dad in town was to collaborate with Mukesh Khanna, who is known to play the iconic role of the indian superhero. However, the actor's team has issued a clarification, mentioning that the Dil Dhadakne Do star has not acquired any rights to the show as a producer. Moreover, the reps also confirmed that Singh is currently busy with his shooting for Dhurandhar and Don 3. Ranveer Singh's team issues a clarification statement Meanwhile, the statement released by Ranveer Singh 's team read, "The news about Ranveer Singh acquiring rights of developing a new superhero (Shaktimaan) project as the producer holds no truth.' It further stated, 'He is currently busy shooting for Aditya Dhar's next and then, Don 3 is also on the cards for him.' According to the previously published reports, Khanna did not want Singh to play the role of the superhero. He revealed to a media outlet that the actor came in and sat in front of him for three hours. However, the Mahabharat actor did not find what it needs to be a Shaktimaan in Ranveer. The veteran star went on to state, 'He looks fickle as if he will con somebody. But he is a terrific actor. When I praised him, I mentioned that nobody else in the film industry has the energy like him. But I haven't approved him for the role. He must have felt bad."
