Tirupati Airport to be renamed after Sri Venkateswara Swamy!!!
Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board has decided to write to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, requesting that the Tirupati Airport be renamed as 'Sri Venkateswara International Airport'. Along with this proposal, the Board also resolved to recommend that the airport be redesigned to reflect the aesthetic and spiritual ambience of Tirumala, replicating its divine architecture and sacred atmosphere. The Trust Board met on Tuesday at Annamayya Bhavan in Tirumala under the chairmanship of B R Naidu. The meeting was attended by Executive Officer J Syamala Rao, Additional Executive Officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary, and several board members. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Chairman Naidu elaborated on the key decisions taken by the Board. He said that the Trust Board has approved the allocation of TTD land on a lease basis for the establishment of a CSIR laboratory in Tirupati, to be set up by the Central Government. This lab will provide TTD with facilities to conduct free quality testing of essential materials like ghee, water, and food products used in the daily activities and rituals of the temple. The Board has recommended to the APPSC to halt ongoing recruitment for lecturer posts in TTD educational institutions. To address the concerns of nearly 200 existing contract lecturers, a three-member committee has been constituted following the directive of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. As part of its efforts to modernise educational institutions, the Board has decided to upgrade the prestigious TTD-run college in New Delhi. He stated that during a recent meeting with the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, a request was made for constructing a temple in Bengaluru. The Board has now decided to proceed with the construction of a Sri Venkateswara temple in a prime area of Bengaluru. The project will move forward once the Karnataka government allocates the required 47 acres of land. In another major development, Union Minister for Heavy Industries H D Kumaraswamy has agreed to provide TTD with 100 electric buses through the central government. Steps are being taken to bring these buses to Tirumala at the earliest to promote environmentally friendly transportation for pilgrims. Expanding its efforts in spiritual education and training, TTD will now collaborate more extensively with the Samarasata Seva Foundation to not only continue training priests but also to offer instruction in various rituals and worship methods. A new cultural programme titled 'Mana Varasatvam' will be launched to teach students the spiritual values of Hinduism and the cultural richness of the Telugu tradition. On the occasion of Varalakshmi Vratam, special celebrations under the title 'Sowbhagyam' will be held at the Tiruchanoor Padmavathi Ammavari Temple. TTD Board members Jyothula Nehru, Panabaka Lakshmi, Thammishetti Janaki Devi, Naresh, Sadashiva Rao, Shanta Ram, Rammurthy, Divakar Reddy, Bhanu Prakash Reddy, and others were present during the meeting. The decisions mark a significant step toward strengthening the spiritual, cultural, and educational vision of TTD.

Yadagirigutta board eludes as two mantris flex their muscles
Hyderabad: Group politics within the ruling Congress party in Nalgonda district have reportedly delayed the constitution of the Yadagirigutta Temple Development (YTD) Trust Board, intended to be modelled on the lines of the renowned Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) in Tirupati. Ministers such as N Uttam Kumar Reddy and the Komatireddy brothers are understood to be actively lobbying to secure positions for their nominees on the Trust Board. The State government had made a clear decision to establish YTD, drawing inspiration from the TTD. A senior official confirmed that the government intends to constitute trust boards for temples with an annual revenue exceeding Rs 100 crore. As the Yadagirigutta Temple falls into this category, a trust board is slated for formation. To facilitate this, the government amended The Telangana Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Amendment Act 2025 in March of this year. However, sources indicate that the initiative has stalled due to internal group politics within Nalgonda district. It is understood that information was already conveyed to public representatives in the district, but the response has been negative, with officials being asked to postpone the matter for a few days. Several MLAs from the district are reportedly eyeing positions on the board, given Yadagirigutta's annual income of Rs 224 crore. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy recently instructed officials to swiftly establish the board, mirroring the TTD structure, with the aim of enhancing the management and development of the significant pilgrimage site. While the TTD Board comprises 29 members, the proposed YTD will have 18 members. This includes a Chairman, nine other members, one member from the State Legislative Assembly or Council, one each from the Scheduled Castes (SC), Backward Classes (BC), and Women categories, and one member from the founder trustee family. Four ex officio members, including the Principal Secretary Revenue, the Commissioner of Endowments, and the Executive Officer of Yadagirigutta temple, will also sit on the board. The Board's tenure will be for two years, with members receiving no salary but entitled to Travelling Allowance and Dearness Allowance. Officials stated that the government would issue a formal notification for the trust board's formation once they receive a go ahead from higher authorities.

TTD to launch anti-drone security system at Tirumala
Tirupati: In a landmark move to bolster security while preserving the sanctity of one of India's most revered religious destinations, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has approved the deployment of advanced anti-drone technology at Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala. The initiative, which merges tradition with innovation, was cleared at a recent Trust Board meeting at Tirumala and marks a significant overhaul of the temple's security infrastructure. The decision comes amid rising concerns over aerial intrusions and the potential misuse of drones around the temple premises. Recent incidents of flying drones over the temple complex and in front of it highlighted the urgent need for stronger surveillance and enforcement mechanisms. The upcoming security system will be built around a multi-layered anti-drone defence network. This will include radar systems for long-range detection, radio frequency (RF) sensors to track drone signals, and thermal imaging equipment for visual surveillance. Once a drone is detected, it will be neutralised using jamming and spoofing technologies that cut off communication between the device and its operator. In addition to targeting drone-related threats, TTD is undertaking a broader transformation of its overall security apparatus. A senior official stated that the upgrade would also include artificial intelligence tools and facial recognition systems to enhance ground-level surveillance. These technologies are expected to help with crowd control, detect suspicious behaviour, and manage the flow of pilgrims, particularly during peak festival seasons. All AI-driven systems will be implemented under strict data privacy guidelines to protect individual information. TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao underlined the necessity of embracing technology at a location of such religious and cultural prominence. He said the proposed systems aim not only to prevent aerial violations but also to ensure the safety and spiritual experience of visiting devotees. To reinforce its efforts, the TTD has also appealed to the Union government to declare the Tirumala hills a no-fly zone, thereby strengthening the legal framework to deter future drone activity. In parallel, the TTD is evaluating several indigenous technological solutions developed by Indian companies, with the goal of customising them for use in high-sensitivity civilian areas such as temples. TTD is expected to float tenders shortly, with the first phase of installations planned for completion before the end of the year.

Northern Trust recommends cutting emergency surgery from Causeway Hospital

TTD trust Board decides to increase green cover in Tirumala to 80%, improve infrastructure
The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), in a Trust Board meeting on Tuesday, adopted a series of resolutions aimed at improving infrastructure, spiritual sanctity, and environmental sustainability across the temple ecosystem at Tirumala. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu and Executive Officer J. Syamala Rao and other members trustees attended the meeting. Briefing the media, Mr. Syamala Rao said that in line with the directives of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Trust Board has decided to launch an ambitious afforestation programme with the target of increasing Tirumala's green cover from 68.14% to 80%. The Forest Department will spearhead the initiative for which over ₹4 crore would be allocated in phases over the next three years. The TTD also sanctioned an additional ₹71 crore per annum to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), supplementing the existing ₹60 crore support. Plans are afoot to recruit doctors, nurses, and the required paramedical staff and complete the buildings of the Oncology Wing and Sri Padmavati Children's Hospital within a stipulated time. Around 85% of these projects have been completed. Srivari Vaidya Seva To bolster healthcare services, the temple Trust Board has approved a proposal to launch 'Srivari Vaidya Seva', a volunteer programme as part of which medical professionals would be roped in to offer services to the needy. As part of reinforcing the security arrangements and protecting the temple town from aerial threats, it was resolved to espouse anti-drone technology. In a strategic move, the Trust Board approved inviting technical and financial proposals from architectural consultants to develop a comprehensive master plan for developing temples at Tiruchanoor, Amaravati, Narayanavanam, Kapilatheertham, Nagalapuram, and Vontimitta. It resolved to rename a couple of rest houses on its own, with donors failing to respond to its request to provide names after the deities in line with its spiritual heritage. New framework for licensing canteens To ensure that the devotees receive nutritious and hygienic food, it was resolved to adopt a new framework for licensing Big Canteens and Janatha Canteens existing atop the hill town. Other key decisions include developing the Sridevi and Bhudevi Sameta Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple at Anantavaram in Amaravati and initiating legal proceedings against the makers of the Tamil film DD Next Level for hurting the sentiments of the multitude of devotees by remixing the popular 'Govinda Namavali' of Lord Venkateswara.
